I vividly remember sitting in my basement with a strangers newborn in my hands, not having a single clue how to get her in the pose I had in my head. ⁣ ⁣ At that very moment I vowed to do everything in my power to not just learn the art of newborn photography, but to be the very BEST at it.⁣ ⁣ And so I poured every ounce of myself, every penny I had, every waking moment into doing just that. And when I succeeded, while it felt good, it still didn’t feel like it was enough.⁣ ⁣ You see, when I set my mind to something I give my whole heart and soul to it. Photography has allowed me to have a voice through art, it allowed me to raise my babies at home and not go back to public america. It allowed to me travel, and it’s brought some amazing people into my life. ⁣ ⁣ But now, I must free up some space in my heart to be able to pursue my soul purpose in life, and that’s helping women find their voice, strength and peace with their bodies. ⁣ ⁣ With that said, I have decided I will no longer be doing any photography outside of 3 newborns per month. If you currently have a session scheduled with me, don’t worry! No matter what we do at least 85% of our day is spent consoling, singing, dancing, burping, and anything else you can think of to get this little love to calm down. . . The other 15% she is the happiest, sweetest babe around. She already has SUCH a big personality for a small human and my gosh she’s smart. . . It pains us to see her spending so much of her days irritated, sobbing, and screaming in pain. It’s been now almost 5 weeks of this, coming and going in waves. Countless doctors visits, earlier hospital trips, numerous phone calls and notes to just get answers. . . It’s been now 4 days of a temperature of above 99.3 and tonight 100.0 . At this point we are desperate just to figure out what is happening. I wish children could speak so much sooner just so we could soothe the pain we are so blindsided by. She can understand us more each day and it’s as if what she can’t understand is why mommy and daddy aren’t easing the pain before it begins. . . Please if anyone has any idea what this could be, please we beg you to send your thoughts. We are over seeing our daughter’s tears more than smiles. The vomiting still continues, she is on anti-vomiting medication at the moment. She has a dry cough that comes and goes - but it’s very different from COVID’s indicative cough. She is on an amino acid based formula called Elecare which is the most broken down form of digestion, which is supposed to be easily digestible. They think right now it could possibly be gastroenteritis colitis or possibly a milk protein allergy, but you think we would have seen more improvement by now. Colic is a culprit too but we would have seen it all along, right? . . The struggle is real for us as parents, for our girl who endures all of this, and for our hearts who yearn to find answers. • 4 Years ago today I told Curt he was going to be a daddy• I had known for 24 hours...and it was the longest 24 hours of my life. I think I had every emotion in the book-scared-excited-nervous-overjoyed-blessed. I definitely had no idea how I would feel or what to do.. I remember walking into my sisters room without knocking( and I always knocked, so she was confused) and throwing my positive test on her lap. I had been pacing around for hours waiting to tell someone..I had panicked and called my mom a couple times but she didn’t answer... by the time she called back I had collected myself and played it cool. É incrível olhar pra trás e ver que aquele livro virou um e-book um ano depois e que agora ele se transformou em uma versão estendida, passando a se chamar “Palavras com açúcar... e uma pitada de sal”. Vieram mais receitas, mas o carinho continua o mesmo lá de 2018, quando encasquetei que queria falar sobre receitas simples e pra lá de gostosas e versáteis. E foi também graças a esse e-book que decidi me debruçar sobre “O fantástico mundo das geleias”, um material composto por 2 vídeos + 1 e-book que lancei ontem. Hey there! Its been a while and I have missed you all. If you are new here WELCOME! My name is Savannah and I am the owner of Savy Social Co. I took a much-needed break from social media when the pandemic hit to really focus on my couples and their needs as we transitioned through this crazy time. As soon as we started to get back into the groove of things, George Floyd was murdered and I recognized that it was not my time to post or speak about my business, but it was my time to listen more & to learn from our community and to our BIPOC brothers and sisters. In the last few weeks, I have been reading, researching, conversing, and listening to others. Even though I knew that I was anti-racist and that I believe in equality for all (no matter your skin color, gender, sexual orientation, etc), these last few weeks have still been eye-opening in how systemic racism is still alive and well in our society today. How even someone so progressive like myself can still be unknowingly, & ignorantly, still contributing to it today. I will be continuing to learn and recognize how I can adapt and change so that I can better serve not only our couples but our community and our world. The next step in our journey is starting an online course with the @conversationworkshopsok to continue down the path of learning how I can be a better ally. The Conversation Workshop creates space that actively promotes bravery over fear, acknowledgment over shame, and education over confusion and I am looking forward to learning how I can be better. Fun fact, this workshop is run by the amazing women at @thewildmother who are also in this amazing OKC wedding community. When I started this company, I set its mission statement to be that Sävy Social Co. hopes to set the tone of inclusiveness and professionalism with all of our clients, while providing a fun and social experience that will last a lifetime. That is still true today, but I recognize that in order to continue to fulfill this mission state, we need to continue to learn, adapt, change, and foster a better world for our couples. Chances are, I can know what point of my life I met you based on what iteration of my name you call me. I’m named after my Abuelo, Brian and my grandmother, Anne. My whole family calls me Brea and I went by it until university when all my professors used my full name, Breanna. Then, at work everyone started calling me Bre that, I’ll admit, I hated until I didn’t anymore. So now it’s Brea, Breanna or Bre. When we named Everly, we loved the short form Evie as well. We call her E, Ev, Evie, Evers, Everly and Everly Adelaide when she’s not listening. I initially planned on writing “Babe” on both jackets and having them match. BUT then I allowed Everly to choose her colour - sparkly magenta and she told me that “Babe” is not her name and that her name is Evie and to put Brea on mine. She can also read her name so there was definitely no way around that! Please read 💕 • • Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget that we don’t always have to be busy. We need to remind ourselves that it’s okay - and absolutely necessary - to slow it all down. After taking a week off this account I have made some big decisions. The last week has given me time to assess & reflect on how social media affects me as a person and the impact it has on my mental health. I have noticed that my life is already busy enough & that I need to focus on what’s most important at the moment. As you all know, I started a new job this year. My dream career as a Teacher ❤️ At this point in time, my career, my own well-being and my relationships with family and friends are my top priority. I have decided that I will no longer be using this account. I’m sad about this decision but I know that it’s the best decision for me as an individual & I’m looking at it in a positive light! I have learnt so much over the last couple of years. I have created so many recipes, shared lots of workouts and I have inspired so many people ✨ I will continue on this health and fitness journey but in my own way. I am going to stick to having one personal Instagram account & I will share parts of this journey on there as I go, when I feel like sharing ✨ I am still going to keep my website up and running and will add new recipes when I have the time. So if you’d like to stay in touch please subscribe with your email & you will be notified when I post a recipe ❤️ All of the recipes & workouts on there now will stay there and are yours to keep using! Being a Mom is the greatest gift and the most challenging thing I have ever done. Every day I’m mixed with emotions and riding the highs and lows of motherhood. Am I doing enough for him? Spending enough time with him? Working on milestones enough for his hearing loss? Giving him the best nutrition possible (refuses any milk but Breastmilk-and I weened two months ago), the list goes on. Then when I look at him and he smiles my heart completely melts and I’m reminded to take a deep breath and trust that I’m doing my best and that’s enough for him. LET’S TALK SELF-COMPASSION ...💗 Being kind to myself has been super important throughout my recovery journey, however, I realised it is just as important and transferable to the COVID situation that has hit the world this year. In most ways, quarantine is super similar to chronic illness life: ✨ we are forced to stay at home for something that is out of our control ✨ we are missing out on life ✨ friends have become distant ✨ the end of the crappy situation is completely unknown When our environment and situation becomes difficult, frustrating and unbearable, it’s super easy to direct all the negative energy at ourselves. Blaming ourselves, doubting our strength, beating ourselves up for being angry, sad, unmotivated. But you might be reading this and thinking, well that’s just so unnecessary and unhelpful, right? 😅 That’s because it is! Yes the situation is a bitter pill to swallow, but by adding all this extra pressure on ourselves, we are only creating further suffering. So when you’re feeling down and beating yourself up about what you’re NOT doing, I hope you will remember these things: 💗 It’s okay to be sad, angry, unmotivated.... (fill in the emotion) 💗 It’s okay to switch off 💗 It’s okay to need time alone 💗 It’s okay take a mental health day And most importantly: 💗 It’s okay to let yourself be Chronic illness is hard. Covid is hard. But I promise if you just be a little bit more kinder to yourself, it will feel that little bit more easier to deal with! Let’s try it out! This week I am..... Here’s to a moment of vulnerability No one has the perfect business or life in general. I find that in our days on social media, paints the perfect life style and make it seems that its so easy for them. But defiantly isn’t the truth. The last two weeks were emotionally hard. I’ve had to come through some personal hardships from losing a grandparent to accepting the fact my father also has his time with us numbered. It defiantly takes a toll on yourself, business and personal life, these losses and new adjustments does take time to get use and trying to divide my own personal time more wisely. With covid being a big factor of everyone’s hardships this year, I feel like we should take into consideration that everyone has taken a toll in many different ways. so just remember to be kind and respectful to one another. I have not had the fastest response time lately, so I do apologize for those that had to wait, but moving forward this week is catch up with all emails, inquiries, tasks and projects to send out the doors 3 For all the weddings photographed as of now, in most cases, we had to work together to quickly replanned, relocated ceremony and reception locations from venues to backyard and cottage celebrations. In all honesty, it was the first year of my business that I literally felt overwhelmed and emotional. I was grateful that my couples have trusted me so much to still move forward with documenting their wedding day, and experience a new level of appreciation. Ive learned to appreciate the smaller joys in life that I took for granted before. These weddings gave the new meaning of “intimate celebrations”, joyful tears, cheers and heartfelt moments. My little note to you all, follow your dreams and don’t give up. The hardships will always be there but believe me, you have your cheerleaders right behind you rooting for you! Sam and Nate have been such an inspiration to me.
