Life Update with a teeny, tiny side of complications here and there. Apologies for the long post! I usually dont post much about my personal life as Ive always had a habit of keeping work separate from private life---but as of recent, Ive had to step away for a bit as my husband and I will finally become parents to a human child in Nov (yes, my first born will always be my fluffy pup, Miso)! On June 20th, I went in for my sonogram appointment. I didnt really expect anything as Ive done genetic testing before and the results have always turned out normal. The technician said our baby girl looked healthy, asking if I was sure about my due date because she was measuring a week ahead and how her legs are super long. I joked and said, maybe Ill have my Halloween baby after all. We looked at her heart and the tech kept saying her heart is beautiful. Its strong. Its a beautiful heart. In hindsight, I realized why she was repeating that. To any unknowing eyes, she was just as a baby should look like and thats what the doctor began with. She said, Overall, your baby is perfectly normal. All her extremities are growing well. Brain and heart all good, but she has a cleft lip on the left side. My brain kind of stopped working after I heard that. A cleft lip. I know what it is, but it doesnt run in my family nor my husbands. Apparently, its common in Asians, but I didnt know anyone with it. All I could do was nod to her telling me fact after fact about this condition. 1 in 700. It can be fixed. The palate seems intact. But there could be other defects, anomalies associated with a cleft lip/palate. We can test with an amniocentesis. Cikupa menempati posisi tertinggi, disusul Kecamatan Kelapa Dua 38 kasus, Curug 35 kasus, Pasar Kemis 32 kasus, Sindang Jaya 19 kasus, Rajeg 13 kasus, Sukadiri 11 kasus, Solear 8 kasus, Tigaraksa 6 kasus. Sementara, Teluknaga, Kronjo dan Sepatan masing-masing 5 kasus. Panongan, Pagedangan, Balaraja, Pakuhaji, Jayanti masing-masing 4 kasus, disusul Mauk dengan 3 kasus. Lemahnya kontrol pelaksanaan protokol pencegahan COVID-19 di perusahaan-perusahaan, tidak adanya sinergi antar daerah di Tangerang Raya dalam upaya pencegahan bersama, ini pemicu kasus COVID-19 baru di Kabupaten Tangerang, ungkapnya kepada TangerangNews, Senin (7/9/2020 Ia menyontohkan, mereka yang terjangkit bekerja pada salah satu perusahaan besar di Kota Tangerang. Kemudian, turut menularkan virus tersebut ke lingkungan tempat tinggal di sebuah perumahan di Cikupa. Pihak Puskesmas sedang melakukan tracing di perumahan tersebut, katanya. Munculnya cluster tersebut diharapkan membuat Pemkab Tangerang juga mulai mewaspadai kemungkinan perusahaan menjadi lokasi penyebaran COVID-19. Climate change should hire COVID-19’s publicist. I’m a little late on this, but season 2 of Netflix’s Dirty Money has just dropped, and I am so stoked to have been tasked with shooting aerial cinematography for Ep 6, which deals with an issue that, while not as immediately disruptive as COVID-19, is far more existentially pressing for humanity - plastic pollution and climate change. This episode was shot by one of my best friends and favorite collaborators, DOP Justin Zweifach, and helmed by director Margaret Brown. I got a call from Justin right as I was returning to cel service from Denali base camp in Alaska, and he told that that I needed to go capture aerials of one the biggest plastic refineries in the world - Formosa Chemical Plant in Texas. Love getting those calls where you’re being asked to do some crazy challenging shit halfway across the world but your belief in what you are doing is stronger than your fear. I headed straight to Texas from Alaska and spent a week photographing the unbelievable industrial hell-scape that is modern plastic production. It felt like a trip to the future, where machines and giant pools of chemical waste have taken over our existence, and even the most extreme levels of production still can’t keep up with global demand. It gave me a vision of the future that we DON’T want. In spite of the horror, I found myself in some kind of heightened flow state as I was shooting this, knowing that the images would be used to further the argument of a film that powerfully demonstrates what big plastic is doing to us, and to our planet. If you aren’t already overloaded on the whole doomsday thing, take a look at the episode and allow yourself some space to think of some creative ways we can work together to solve a problem that is going to be around a lot longer than COVID-19. Don’t let the media and the press dictate what you spend your days worrying about. This pattern is based on our collection of custom-commissioned marble jali (carved screens) that were crafted by South Asian artisans working with the India Marble Works firm in Agra in 1935. The jali were inspired by seventeenth-century Mughal architectural ornamentation — including pietra dura marble panels inlaid with semiprecious stones, as well as marble jali - found in the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and the Agra Fort. Jali making has continued for centuries in South Asia, up to the present day – providing functional artwork that provides privacy while allowing air and light to circulate. Bagi kita yang mampu mungkin hal ini bukan lah suatu masalah, namun di sisi lain masih banyak masyarakat kecil yg ekonominya pas-pasan kesulitan mendapatkan masker maupun hand sanitizer. Untuk itu, pemerintah membuat peraturan bagi oknum yang tertangkap tangan menjual masker atau hand sanitizer dengan harga yang tinggi, maka oknum tersebut akan menadapatkan hukuman berupa 5 tahun penjara. 1858, Mirza Jani Beg, Tomb Thatta. Photograph of Mirza Jani Beg’s tomb at Thatta in Sindh, taken by William Robert Houghton in 1858. This image is part of an album documenting notable tombs at the necropolis at Thatta, which Houghton photographed at the request of the Government of Bombay. Jani Beg was a member of the Tarkhan Dynasty (1554-1591) and the last independent ruler of Sindh before its annexation by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1591. He was reinstated as governor of Thatta after his submission and died in c.1599. His mausoleum is an octagonal brick structure with a domed roof in the tradition of Islamic funerary architecture and stands on a terraced platform in a walled enclosure. The tomb is part of a great necropolis, reputedly the largest in the world, which lies on the plateau of the Makli hills, a limestone outcrop to the west of Tatta. The necropolis contains over a million graves, including the mausoleums of Sindh’s rulers. His Bivouac for the Dead ( Dodenbivak, 2002 ) is a rectangular tent of semi-transparent blue canvas. The contours are open, and in the middle of the light construction hangs the bier – above the ground, as if on its way up.” The Birthing Tent is, at the title indicates, a large bol structure designed for giving birth and for the celebration of this intimate moment. Masalah Warna Foto Jurnalistik Era 90-an #bahasagambar Seorang mahasiswa dalam sebuah seminar jurnalistik pernah bertanya begini,” Foto jurnalistik yang benar itu hitam putih atau berwarna ?” Pertanyaan ini tampaknya aneh, tapi sungguh wajar karena foto jurnalistik dahulu hampir selalu tampil hitam putih, dan kini kadang-kadang masih ada yang hitam putih. Sebenarnya, sampai akhir tahun 1990-an foto jurnalistik tampil hitam putih semata karena alasan kemudahan. Di era itu, mengirimkan dan mencetak foto berwarna masih mahal dan menyita waktu. Sedangkan saat ini, foto berwarna mudah dikirimkan lewat jalur internet, dan pencetakannya relatif tidak berbeda dengan mencetak foto hitam putih. Kalau boleh disimpulkan, sesungguhnya foto jurnalistik adalah foto berwarna karena realitas itu berwarna. Foto hitam putih tentu berbeda dengan realitas, sementara jurnalistik harus sedekat mungkin dengan realitas itu. Di halaman ini tercetak halaman pertama Harian Kompas edisi Minggu 24 November 1991. Foto yang ada memang berwarna tetapi warnanya buruk dan cenderung pucat bukan ? Di era 1990-an, Harian Kompas maupun sebagian besar koran lain masih mengutamakan foto hitam putih dengan alasan kemudahan proses seperti disebut di atas. Harian Kompas akan mencetak berwarna terutama untuk halaman pertama hanya pada hari Minggu atau pada hal-hal yang diistimewakan seperti Piala Dunia, pembukaan PON dan beberapa peristiwa penting lain. Karena 24 November itu hari Minggu, maka pada tanggal 23 November saya mengirim foto ke Jakarta tentu berwarna. Waktu itu belum ada internet, dan pengiriman foto dilakukan memakai alat yang bernama AP Leafax atau istilahnya telefoto. Sebuah alat telefoto seperti terlihat fotonya di halaman ini, akan mengirimkan foto hitam putih (seukuran setara 0,5 Megapiksel saat ini) dalam waktu 8 menit. Sedangkan sebuah foto warna akan dipecah menjadi empat lapis, masing-masing lapis CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW dan BLACK. Keempatnya biasa disingkat CMYK.
