I was around 5 years old the first time I went to the dinosaurs. It was one of the few trips I went on with my mom. We lived in San Luis Obispo County at the time. She drove our light blue 1971 BMW to Palm Springs and we went on the sky tram, which had different (scarier) cars at the time. That was the last time we drove that car because shortly after the engine caught fire. Pretty sure the Palm Springs heat (or sky tram hill) killed our car. lol Inside the dinosaur is a gift shop and I bought a magical silver ring with a mini rainbow crystal ball on it. I think I still have the ring in a box somewhere. Years later when we moved back from Alaska we came to the dinosaurs again, but at night. The air was warm and breezy. One year ago we left our home and set on a journey into the unknown in our RV. Little did we know that our full time traveling RV life would be cut short. We didn’t HAVE to stop traveling, we chose to and sometimes I miss it. We had a lot of dreams and plans and it would have been some amazing adventures. But that’s ok! We can always travel in the future. But now we’re living new adventures that I thought wouldn’t happen for years. We’re building a homestead from scratch, living off grid and truly loving every minute of it, even the tough stuff. Sedona, Arizona 😍One of the best places to go out and get moving, and it couldn’t be any more gorgeous. This was my last day hiking #bellrockvortex. I was feeling stuck, anxious, and overwhelmed in LA so I decided to grab a cheap Airbnb and head out on a road trip. A lot of the nature trails here in AZ were open at the time. I was grateful to find a great place to sneak away and use some much needed movement to change my vibration. • What’s your relationship like with movement and exercise? Do you only exercise occasionally or when it’s convenient? I was like that and boy have I changed. 🙋🏼♀️ • For years I struggled with anxiety, depression, and self-worth issues and was on every medication known to man. ☁️ • Now 5 years later, with tools such as exercise, breathing, supplements, and a great #GutHealth regimen I’m a new me! • Anytime I’m feeling anxious I move my body. Anytime I’m overthinking I move my body. Anytime I’m sad, unsure, or angry I move my body. It’s helped me and it can help you too! • When people exercise, they talk about a #RunnersHigh, the feeling they get as #endorphins rush through their body after a good workout. But moving your body releases more than endorphins, it releases #dopamine and #serotonin too! Regular exercise can even boost the serotonin levels in the brain, great for things that something like #depression would normally disrupt like your mood, appetite, and sleep schedule. • My #1 piece of advice for clients dealing with anxiety attacks is to engage their body. Simple stretches or walking themselves right out the door and around the block can help take them out of their #FightorFlight response & change the vibration/sensation their body is experiencing. • Move your body!🧘🏼♀️🏔 • Having a melt down? 😰Move your body! Feeling anxious? Sad, unsure? Angry? 😨 Move your body! Breathe, stretch, or walk the dog. This full moon I walked barefoot into the night as the moon rose over the dunes made of Shi Gao- Gypsum at White Sands National Park, NM. Shi Gao is the coldest herb in the Chinese materia medica. Allowing the Yin moonlight to wash over and the excess heat to drain from my mind into the dunes was the perfect transition into the fall season. Más encima oyes a la gente decir lo lindos que son, los oyes decir que quieren hacerles cariño. Está mal, hay que entender que son criaturas silvestres. Pero lamentablemente han ido perdiendo eso que los hace silvestres y somos testigos de un preocupante proceso de impronta. ¿Qué será de ellos ahora, en medio de la cuarentena? ¿Estarán valiéndose por sí mismos o seguirán a la espera de que alguien llegue a ofrecerles algo? Si pasaran hambre no sería por falta de alimento, sería porque las personas los mal acostumbraron a recibir comida fácil, haciéndoles perder el instinto de caza. ANTIGUA ALDEA DE TULOR La aldea de Tulor, ubicada por San Pedro de Atacama🏜️, evidencia lo que ya hemos mencionamos para otras aldeas ya publicadas (las subiré a las historias igual😁): como las sociedades luego de miles y miles de años habitando un espacio se van adueñado de éste, conociendo sus recursos naturales a tal punto de modificarlos geneticamente : un proceso histórico que conllevará a la domesticación de animales🦙 y planta🌱. Es así que de la mano con la intensificación de la agricultura y pastoreo fuimos teniendo formas de vida más sedentarias que guardan relación con las primeras aldeas y con el excedentes de diversos recursos para su almacenamiento🌽🌶️🥜🥒🥔. Estos excedentes fueron claves en la aparición de las primeras jerarquías sociales y también en las dinámicas de intercambio que se fueron creando con otras poblaciones, algunas muy alejadas. Desde la arqueología sabemos por ej que en las Aldeas de San Pedro llegaron productos desde muy lejos, de la costa 🐟 y de la actual Bolivia y Argentina. Esto respondiendo a una de las bases de la cosmovisión Andina, vigente hasta hoy en dia: la reciprocidad, donde el intercambio de cosas (comida, cerámica, metales, tejidos y diversos adornos) desde distintos pisos ecológicos forma parte de esa lógica y ha sido fundamental para la subsistencia de las comunidades Andinas. Un rol clave para concretar estos intercambios fue gracias a las caravanas de llamas 🦙que cargaban los distintos productos dentro de estas dinámicas de tráfico de cosas para intercambiar 🌽🥒🌶️🥜🥔⚱️. San Pedro, al ser un oasis en el desierto 🏜️ fue un lugar estratégico de convergencia de muchas rutas caravaneras. La Aldea de Tulor, construida en barro y con un patrón de recintos circulares (otra lógica de vivienda respecto a hoy en día), fue creada y utilizada desde hace 2500 años atras y hasta hace unos 1500 de antigüedad. En la actualidad está cubierta por dunas. Una de las máximas expresiones de forma de vida sedentaria son las ciudades🌇, y pensar que todo partió con la aparición de las primeras aldeas cómo Tulor y otras hace más de 2000 años atrás. Ley de Sostenimiento y Reactivación del Turismo: beneficios a consumidores La Ley de Sostenimiento y Reactivación del Turismo sancionada el pasado lunes, con el objetivo de implementar medidas para el sostenimiento y la reactivación de la industria turística en la Argentina, también abarca a los consumidores turísticos dentro de la frontera. En este sentido, y con el objetivo de incentivar la demanda, la ley establece un bono fiscal vacacional para las familias cuyos ingresos mensuales no superen el equivalente a cuatro salarios mínimos, por única vez, para su uso dentro del país. También establece un régimen de preventa que consistirá en el reconocimiento, por parte del Estado Nacional, de un crédito a favor de las personas humanas del 50% del monto de cada compra de servicios turísticos a ser brindados dentro del país. Asimismo, crea un programa especial para el turismo de la tercera edad, por el cual el Estado aportará hasta el 21% de los paquetes turísticos, con el fin de sostener la actividad durante las temporadas bajas y para el bienestar de las personas mayores. En el caso que el consumidor haya contratado servicios mediante intermediarios (agencias de viajes) podrá reprogramar sus viajes o recibir un voucher para ser utilizado dentro de los 12 meses desde la finalización de la cuarentena. Las agencias deberán proceder al reembolso a los consumidores si éstos solicitan la resolución del contrato, siempre que los proveedores de servicios hubieran procedido a la devolución total del importe correspondiente. Si solo alguno de los proveedores del servicio de viajes realiza la devolución, el consumidor tendrá derecho al reembolso parcial, siendo descontado del importe del voucher entregado. Los reembolsos deberán efectuarse en un plazo no superior a 60 días desde la fecha de solicitud del reembolso o desde la fecha en que los proveedores de servicios hayan procedido a la devolución. Fire Crews have given us the all clear to welcome guests back to the ranch. We will be open today with our store, BBQ, and Bakery and plan to resume our regular fall offerings by next week. We checked out the newly opened @area15official a few days ago and WOW. Just, WOW. Even without anchor tenants @meow__wolf and @lostspiritsdistillery open yet, there is SO MUCH to do and see. It is VERY cool, and honestly we probably only saw about 1/4 of it. ——— You have to reserve tickets ahead of time; it’s free to do so but they’re currently completely sold out through October and haven’t opened up reservations for November yet. Once inside, there are bars to eat and drink at and several of the “rides” are open (those aren’t free, though), including one that zips you around the ceiling so you get a birds-eye-view of the whole venue! ——— Here’s photos just from the outside leading to the main entry. What do teepees and stationery have to do with one another? Although that sounds like the beginning of a joke, for me it’s about crafting something by ones own hands. It’s what my work is all about. This teepee was made by the Hualapai tribe here in Arizona. They set this up for people to see how they made homes through the years. I am always moved by HAND made necessities. Why are we as humans moved to adorn and decorate something so essential? Why does the form change when the function hasn’t? Why do we go to great lengths to throw beautiful elaborate parties when it’s only a day in life? But we do and have so for thousands of years. Every day the impulse to create useful, beautiful things and share them pulses through me and yet I still question why. My logical mind can’t make sense of it, but my hands continue creating. Arizona Road Trip: Jerome Jerome was founded in 1876 and was once the 4th largest town in Arizona Territory. The population peaked at 15,000 but is now a mere 450. Jerome is an old mining town turned into a trendy, eclectic hilltop artist community. Not far from Sedona, Jerome boasts sweeping views and many art studios, galleries, and saloons/biker bars. The drive to Jerome is not one you’ll soon forget given the narrow and steep ascent, but the views once you arrive are breathtaking. Should you be a fan of ghost stories, be sure to stay at The Jerome Grand Hotel which sits atop the hill overlooking the Verde Valley. Formerly the United Verde Hospital, the five-story Spanish Mission-style building projects the coolest Frankensteinesque-castle vibe in Arizona. The hospital closed in 1950 and remained empty for decades until it was reinvented as a hotel. If you are looking for a great place to eat, the Asylum restaurant at the Jerome Grand Hotel occupies the lower floor. Greetings from Benton Hot Springs! We want to reaffirm our dedication to providing a safe and clean place for you and our staff during this current situation with the coronavirus. It has been and still is our top priority. While our remote facilities, generally provide ample space and limited public interaction, we our stepping up our cleaning efforts in the midst of this situation. Currently there is little evidence that indicates the coronavirus can survive in outside elements. Nevertheless, we continue to clean each tub after every use with a strong bleach solution. We will disinfect all portable toilets daily. We have just completed deep cleaning in all the rooms, houses and common areas. Additionally we are disinfecting all surfaces and linens after each use and common areas continually. We hope these further cleaning processes with ease concerns. This situation is fluid and we will reassess our procedures and operations as conditions warrant. We understand everyone is in a different place when it comes to this situation. However, we would like to reiterate that the director of the CDC stated that the risk is low and encouraged people to go about their life with a common sense approach. TRAVESÍA🎿🏔 . . Esta vez por la localidad de📍Leleque, ubicada al noroeste de la provincia de Chubut, Argentina. Gran parte de la historia de este lugar tiene que ver con una de las mayores expropiaciones de tierras a los aborígenes del sur, la “Conquista del Desierto”. Antes de emprender cuesta arriba @lopezechavarri , @juancruzsnow y @pablofirpo1 visitaron a un Mapuche, llamado “Curiñanco” quien les contó anécdotas e historias del lugar, una de ellas es cuando viajo a Italia para poder pelearle a Benetton sus tierra donde sus ancestros transitaban. También le pidieron permiso para poder seguir camino ya que el lugar por donde tenían que seguir estaba interrumpido por tierras de Curiñanco, quien respondió; a quien tienen que pedirles permiso es a la Pachamama y no a un alambrado. - @dukeonline on Instagram
