BATE-PAPO — você tem algum livro autografado? eu só tenho esses dois aí da foto: 𝙪𝙢 𝙙𝙞𝙖 e 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙘̧𝙖𝙧. 🍀 a história do autógrafo de 𝑢𝑚 𝑑𝑖𝑎 é bem engraçada. eu e minha amiga fomos na bienal de 2015 especificamente nesse dia pra conseguir o autógrafo do david nicholls, já que esse é um dos nossos livros favoritos da vida. só que chegamos muito tarde, e todos as senhas pra autógrafo já tinham sido distribuídas, ou seja, só conseguimos para a palestra. assistimos e foi muito legal! no final, passamos por onde a fila pra autógrafo estava se formando, e vimos que tinha muita gente sem livro, entrando só pra acompanhar alguém. eu sou uma pessoa muito tímida e que morre de vergonha de falar com as pessoas, mas quando é pra alguma coisa que eu quero muito eu não sei o que acontece que eu fico mega cara de pau hahahha cheguei perto de um grupo de meninas que estavam sem livro na fila e falei oi, eu tô vendo que vocês vão entrar e tão sem livro, se incomodam de levarem o nosso e pegar o autógrafo pra gente?. as meninas foram super legais e disseram que não teria problema nenhum, ainda colaram um post-it na capa com meu nome pro david só copiar. confesso q depois de ter entregado na mão delas me bateu um certo medo da menina pedir o autógrafo pra ela e sumir com meu livro, mas no fim deu tudo certo! lkjkkkkkkk 🌺 além desse, eu também tenho o autógrafo da @livrosefuxicos, que peguei na bienal do ano passado! na época eu estava estudando sobre a história do rio de janeiro na faculdade, e como esse livro é um romance de época que se passa aqui no rio eu fiquei super interessada. ainda não tive a oportunidade de ler, mas desde que a @viagempelaestante falou maravilhas dele nos stories eu fiquei ainda mais animada pra conhecer essa história. espero que eu consiga ainda esse ano! meus autógrafos dos sonhos são o do stephen king, da jojo moyers, da madeline miller, e lógico, da minha rainha suprema taylor jenkins reid. já pensou se ela vier pré bienal de 2021? 🤩 quais autógrafos vocês tem e qual o/os do sonho de vocês? - @books.bea on Instagram

Ive been sitting on this news since January, BUT I am so excited to finally announce that Ive been named as the 2020-2021 Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Teaching Fellow at Washington University, a fellowship jointly sponsored by the Saint Louis Art Museum and the university’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. . Throughout the academic year, I will be working with students in the MFA program through individual studio visits, class visits and critiques, artist lectures and presentations with local curators, and by teaching a series of professional practices workshops. . The fellowship will culminate with an exhibition of new work from “Every Breath We Drew” at the St. Louis Art Museum, opening in September of 2021. What made me smile were the measurements- a Breakfast Cup and a Teacup were what they used to describe a quantity. (continued from previous post) In the Focus seminar at Ivy Ridge, we went through the “lifeboat process” where students had to face each other and tell them to die. So not only did this school pit students against each other, they also encouraged us to break each other down by any means necessary. I will never forget when the facilitator came over to me and told me to imagine that I was telling my own father to die. That maybe I should’ve died instead of him, because clearly I didn’t care enough about my life. She then added that perhaps my mother would even be happier if I had died rather than her husband. I even found seminar essays where I had to write the lie that it was MY FAULT my father died. I’m telling each and every one of you that, even as a young teenager, I knew what they were saying was COMPLETE NONSENSE. But still those words have remained with me, and visit me on the nights I can’t sleep. And still they come during my most quiet moments, in the silence and in the calm. What they said to me, however, was not even close to the worst thing I’d heard a facilitator say. They made students relive and/or in some way reenact terrible things that had happened to them. And it was because of that that many of us are still reliving those traumas to this day. I believe that it was in those seminars that our childhoods perished. And I mourn every moment of my life for each and every one of us who lost a part of ourselves in those seminar rooms. Every day there are more and more children enduring this exact same abuse in these boarding schools. Every day we let these schools slide under the radar, another child is developing PTSD. Every day a child’s life is changing, and not for the better. In addition, there are also parents and siblings who are being forced to attend these seminars as part of their students’ enrollment. This needs to end. Let’s share our stories, everyone. Let’s tell the world of these monstrous institutions. Let’s break code silence together. - @diana_nowak on Instagram

Marc and his family are okay. The band and the crew are okay. So far all of us have made it through this very scary time. We all know people who have suffered with it and some of us have lost people to the virus. But as far as I know, our close friends and families are healthy. I hope – really hope – you are all playing by the rules and not being reckless. This virus is serious. You don’t want to get it. And staying healthy is really easy. Just wear a piece of cloth over your nose and mouth, stay 6 feet away from people and stay home as much as you can. That doesn’t seem like a lot to ask. Long post alert! Yesterday I drank way too much coffee and ended up staying awake most of night. I decided to take this time to declutter and went through hundreds of documents, news clippings, magazines, brochures, school papers, and a bunch of other random stuff I’ve collected over the years that I needed to get rid of. During my purge, I stumbled upon dozens of papers put together by my great grandmother specifically for me and my sisters, including a VERY detailed handwritten history of my dad’s side of the family, all the way back to 1850! My new Covid project is to digitize everything, including typing up the handwritten histories. Some of them have already been typed up, but there are errors, so I’m starting over. There’s a lot of repetitive documents, and some of the pages done in pencil have been worn away and I need to recover them somehow. För 26 år sedan slöt svenska folket upp och skickade kvinnopaket till kvinnor i Bosnien-Hercegovina under krigen på Balkan. 💪 En av de som skickade var Elisabeth. ”Jag fyllde ett Sverigepaket med förnödenheter som jag trodde att en kvinna som jag själv skulle kunna ha användning av ifall Sverige drabbades av brinnande inbördeskrig” berättar hon. Nu, flera år senare, hör en man av sig till Elisabeth. Han berättar att paketet kom fram till hans mamma som bodde i Tuzla år 1994. ”Efter alla dessa år känns det fantastiskt att kunna tacka dig för allt du skickade min mamma. 1994 var ett av de värsta åren någonsin. Så, tack från djupet av mitt hjärta.” ❤️ Krig och konflikter slår familjer och samhällen i spillror, men när kriget tagit slut är arbetet långt ifrån över.
