Today, were celebrating Ellen Ochoas contributions to science in honor of #HispanicHeritageMonth 💫 Ochoa was the first Hispanic woman to go to space. She first served a nine-day mission aboard the Discovery Space Shuttle, where she and a team of astronauts studied Earths ozone layer. She returned to space three additional times, spending almost 1,000 hours in orbit. Today, Ochoa serves as the director of the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. She also holds NASAs Distinguished Service Medal for her contributions to space science 🚀 - @azscience on Instagram

When the UK and European travel bans were put into effect in early March due to Covid 19, We lost about 75% of our jobs, and were convinced that work and life as we knew it would come to a stand still. Luckily @yellowdayss was willing and ready to explore new ways of creating during this time, and we were able to produce this video thousands of miles apart from each other. It was a great learning experience, and we hope you all enjoy it, because it was a lot of fun to make. ——————————————— - Directed/Edit/Set Design: @mowgly_lee - DoP: @nicky.rudolph - UK DoP: @vdb__film 🇬🇧 - @acetone_films on Instagram

Earthrise | William Anders, 1968 The photograph that changed the world. I first saw this photograph in 1999, minutes before we hit the year 2000, on a TV program that was probably showing the greatest pictures of the last millennia. It was shot on the Apollo 8 mission, and was the first time humanity saw their place in the Universe, through a high quality color image. It sparked a global movement, and brought the world together in watchfulness and care for our fragile galactic spaceship. Environmental awareness was never the same again. We had finally seen our home. This Earth Day, I want to share this iconic image, along with a few that I have shot, in the brief parts of the Earth that Ive been lucky to see, to remind us again of the beauty of our world. The Covid-19 pandemic has made all of us much more cognizant of the liberties we enjoyed and abused, without regards to consequences. Today, in this unprecedented crisis, while we sit at home as a global family, and wonder and reflect, the tiny vulnerable blue ball we call home recovers from the damage we inflicted on it. Lets hope that when we rejoin it, we bring our new perspective with us, and treat it in better ways than we did before. #covid_19 #pandemic #EarthDay #Earthrise #coronavirus #quarantine #billanders - @alampanah on Instagram

As today marks the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, we honor our client Neil Armstrong in making history as the first human ever to walk the moon. After traveling for 76 hours, Apollo 11 entered the orbit of the moon and soon after, Neil took the first step with the whole world watching on television. Throughout Neils life he has spent a total of two and a half years on the moon studying and collecting samples. We are proud representatives of Armstrong since 2009, and can provide services for any of your licensing needs pertaining to Neil. This anniversary represents is a historic moment for our country and mankind! Changing the world in just one step. Surprise my EP is live 💅🏻 (link in bio) ... Even though it’s only just over 11 minutes of music, this EP is a compilation of musical ideas that I’ve been toying around with for 6 years ... It’s largely instrumental and to me, closes a chapter on this method of writing and recording music. ... In all honesty, this was one of the most frustrating things I’ve done because it spanned such a long time. Trying to balance new takes on old ideas while still revisiting my original concept etc. helped me learn a lot about music and myself ... I’m really happy to get these ideas out of my head and into your ears and I hope you enjoy 🧑🏼🚀🏀 ... Special thanks to @treacleminerecording ❤️ - @astronautjumpshot on Instagram

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇲 This is a picture I made. I dont know if an image like this is even possible on the moon! I was making it for the two biggest conspiracy theories (the Earth is flat and we never went to the moon) but it ended up being a really cool pride moment for the US. The US is not perfect. Especially right now. But good has come from our country, similar to how good has come from countries all over the world. We will use space to show pride in our past and be united in our future. Despite plans to send humans back to the Moon by the year 2024, very little is known about the effects of space radiation the astronauts will be exposed to on a daily basis while bouncing across the lunar surface. A new study is the first to measure exactly how much radiation humans would be exposed to on a daily basis while exploring the Moon in an effort to find ways to mitigate the effects on human health. Their results found that the Moon has an average daily radiation dose equivalent to 1,369 microsieverts per day, which is about 2.6 times higher than the amount the crew of the @iss is exposed to on a daily basis.
