3 semaines post partum 🧸 Voilà comment je passe mes journées en ce moment. À faire les 100 pas dans tout l’appart, en culotte, Trop chaud pour ouvrir les volets ou sortir dehors, Ella dans mes bras, le téléphone dans l’autre pour répondre aux mails et aux appels (je bosse à fond sur un nouveau projet que j’ai hâte de vous dévoiler très bientôt ... ) Et sinon je mange aussi toute cru cette bouille d’amour entre deux réveils, en attendant que mon grand garçon rentre de l’école. S’en suit alors un harcèlement de question pour qu’il me raconte sa journée , en vain. Et le soir, c’est sportif. Eddy s’occupe de Ella pendant que je prépare le repas et passe du temps avec Edan mais ça ne dure jamais bien longtemps, car mademoiselle veut bien souvent les bras de sa maman. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I can’t believe I entered by 30th year as a mom-to-be and being an expecting mom I’ve had time to reflect on how I was raised and what kind of mom I want to be. I don’t think any new parent really knows what they’re doing and I really appreciate that my mom didn’t do anything “by the book”. Our creativity was encouraged, we got to try anything we wanted to do- even through her chemo treatments in my High School years Sean and I were able to continue our extra curricular activities and she was always there to support us whether us was cheerleading at a football game or a musical theater performance, she was the bonus mom for all of the kids in the neighborhood- and did it all while being a bad ass travel agent/manager! 24 weeks in and there are still times I can’t believe I’m pregnant 😬 . I’m here to say: not all pregnancies are welcomed with excitement. Since this pregnancy was a surprise, I had an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and fear run through my body as I looked at the positive pregnancy test. After going through the hardest year of my life with becoming a mom, losing my mom 2.5 weeks later, moving cross country away from all my family and friends with a husband who was constantly traveling for work I feared that I couldn’t do it again. I feared I would find myself in that dark place of sadness. I feared my body couldn’t go through it again so soon. Feared my marriage would suffer. Feared I didn’t have enough time alone with Jett. I was scared. I had no idea where I would even give birth and live with this new family of 4 since Kent is a free agent summer. I wasn’t excited to share the news with friends because their excitement overwhelmed me. . So this pregnancy has been completely different than Jett’s. Not because it’s been physically harder, but mentally harder. When pregnant with Jett I welcomed every bodily change with happiness and excitement. And loved every moment of it. This time it has taken me awhile to even accept the fact I’m pregnant and when I look in the mirror, I often think I’ve just gotten fat. Hearing people comment on my growing belly annoyed me and I felt so challenged by my growing body. . All that being said, I am extremely grateful for this blessing and that my body is allowing me to create another life for I know it doesn’t come easy to many. But that doesn’t mean I have to ignore all the other emotions I have felt around this pregnancy. We are allowed to have anxiety or be scared but be grateful at the same time. I know this baby girl was a gift from my angel mom and that ensures me everything will be okay. So wherever you are on your journey to motherhood or in motherhood, be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to feel whatever it is you’re feeling because there is no rule book for this game 💗 - @serpebazesam on Instagram

Obrigada meu amigo Carlos Castilho 🤗🌹🥰 Agora vamos as novidades... Essa semana eu fiz uma cintilografia óssea, o resultado ainda não saiu... Só na próxima semana.... Também fui no oncologista e ele acabou me pedindo várias tomos...de partes moles.... umas 4 no total.... O que ele queria saber era se o problema era só no osso ou afetava outras partes... Pediu também exame de sangue e urina... Já fiz alguns exames e na segunda feira termino de fazer... No dia 31 sexta feira, eu volto com ele com todos esses resultados.. aí eu acredito que ele consiga determinar como será meu tratamento.... enquanto isso sigo com os remédios pra controlar as dores. Ele disse que se for pra tratar só o osso é de um jeito...e se tiver alguma coisa diferente aí é de outro jeito... One thing I’ve learned in my first year of motherhood is that every woman has their hard. I’ve seen some friends/family struggle with postpartum depression. Do endless amounts of infertility treatments to bring a baby to earth. Absolutely exhausted because their baby doesn’t sleep. Watching hearts absolutely shattered because of a miscarriage. Seeing the courage of a mom who has cancer. Having to bury a baby. Struggling to watch your body change and not being the same. Trying their best to deal with mental health. Just being a mom.. • No matter what it is we all are going through something & I feel so grateful to have such an incredible support system. Well, the longest spring break ever is coming to an end. I don’t think I will ever forget that eerie feeling picking Isla up from school in March 13th, knowing that school would not be back in the same capacity. meine Kinder sind alle unterschiedlich zur Welt gekommen , Liya war von der erste Sekunde an in meinem Arm , die Zwillinge nicht ! Jamila und Zahra haben Pre Nahrung bekommen & abgepumpte Muttermilch. Ich habe sie beide nicht ein einziges Mal angelegt & sie haben nur wenige Wochen Muttermilch bekommen. Ich habe mich schlecht gefühlt. Sehr sogar! Doch jetzt sehe ich sie alle drei an & ich weiß, dass dieses schlechte Gewissen all die Jahre unbegründet war. Liya wurde von Tag eins an gestillt, sie kam spontan zur Welt & ging mit uns gemeinsam nach 2 Tagen nach Hause. Die Zwillinge nicht! 🥺 Sie mussten dort bleiben. Ohne uns. 💔 Und ich liebe sie alle gleich! & sie lieben mich ! Zu allen habe ich die gleiche Bindung. Eine unendlich starke Bindung, eine emotionale Bindung. Sie sind alle drei meine Kinder & ich ihre Mama. Wir gehören zusammen, egal was für eine Milch sie bekommen haben oder wie die diese getrunken haben. Sie erinnern sich nicht daran. Aber sie spüren, ob sie geliebt werden. ❤️ & das wurden sie von der ersten Sekunde ihres Lebens & das werden sie auch bis zur letzten Sekunden. . . Das Muttermilch gesund ist , steht außer Frage , trotzdem hat für mich Liebe & Zuneigung nichts mit Flasche oder Brust zutun ! Also hört auf euch gegenseitig zu verurteilen, akzeptiert die Entscheidungen anderer & vor allem liebe Mamas , macht euch selbst keine Vorwürfe. Twin life .. there is only one me . Tandem breastfeeding is tough. Juggling two babies at once IS not that difficult either . You have to have Pateince to get it all done but working as a team I have always seen posts and personally experienced shaming for breastfeeding as nudity but i see it as a good source for my daughters . I don’t see anything wrong with showing a real photo. This is life . Why is this not normalized ? I’m proud i am able to provide nutritional food source that is completely natural to them . And though I know now it was out my control, it’s so hard to not wish it had been different for us in some ways. But for each & every worry that swirls my mind there is a moment of deep knowing while I watch them navigate this beautiful life. There’s a kindness & compassion in them both that feels other worldly. A magic they have with every person they meet. A pull to connect deeply & celebrate people for exactly who they are. No matter how imperfect. I know this because I am lucky enough to feel it, firsthand. Every single day. Motherhood has both pulled me apart & put me back together. Made me appreciate each challenge as a unique & important part of our journey. To look back with less regret & more acceptance. For myself. For our story. Motherhood is similar to talking 8 dogs and a newborn to the beach (which I did today fml) - you have a constant anxiety that something is going to go wrong and even just 1 hour leaves you completely exhausted 😂 That said, its been the most wonderful 4 weeks of my entire life. Things that surprised me: - how well I survive on no sleep - how often newborns wee and poo - that i would become a google poo expert and analyse every poo to come out 😂 - how real the anxiety is that he might die - how unchilled I am in the face of germs which seem to be EVERYWHERE (of course he was born in the middle of a fkg PANDEMIC) - how hard it is to get out of the house with a newborn - how bloody hard being a mum is (hats off to all of you - AND OMG you single mums!) - how on earth I managed to get through that labour 😅 - how wonderful it is to see James as a Dad (I knew it would be great but didnt realise HOW great) - how refreshing all my mum friends are for keeping it real - how thirsty I get breastfeeding (I legit drink a full bottle of water every feed) - how hungry I get breastfeeding - how quickly newborns grow 😳 - how much I still have to pinch myself that I made this perfect little specimen in my wise womanly body! - most of all, my capacity for love - I never even knew this feeling existed but seeing him for the first time was like being reunited with someone who I had known all of this lifetime and all of every other. I’ve been shelling in a bit lately. 🐚 Head down, eyes on the prize, shut everything out, survival mode. Pregnancy is tough. Pregnancy after loss is tough. High risk pregnancy is tough. Pregnancy during a pandemic is tough. The last month in particular, alllll of those truths have really centered themselves. I’ve felt a lot of guilt around having a hard time. We are one week away from meeting our baby boy. One. Week. Our miraculous, wild, never ever expected rainbow baby boy. The physical effects of carrying 30+ pounds of extra weight on a fused spine alongside a tumor have really ramped up. Alongside that, the anxiety that comes with being a loss mama has ramped up, too. The closer we get to meeting his living, breathing, pink-cheeked wiggly self, the more fear likes to nip at my heels, attempting to convince me something will go wrong.⠀ ⠀ I speak about using social media to authentically CONNECT, not compare, all the time. And yet, I’ve been shelling in, trying to shield everyone from my often Eeyore-like current self 💙🐑🎀 (closest emojis I could find to symbolize Eeyore 🙈)⠀ ⠀ I’m sharing this because: it’s ok to be grateful AND in pain. It’s ok to be joyful AND grieving. I’m giving myself grace to admit that, holy moly, I’m in a lot of pain. Grace to grieve the natural home birth I’ve always wanted, while being grateful for the immensely caring hands that will bring him into the world via c-section, the safest possible route for both his little body and mine. Grace to feel overwhelmed at the state of the world, while feeling hope in knowing we will raise this wild little kicker to be a beacon of light. A world changing champ.⠀ ⠀ There’s a lot going on right now. If you’re shelling in too, if you’re having some slumped around “lost my tail” 🐑🎀 moments too, it’s okay. It’s human. It’s healthy. Admit it to yourself and give yourself grace. Be joyful AND. Hopeful AND. Grateful AND. But whatever you do, shed the tempting shell and be all of those things out loud. Throughout my childhood I imagined a myriad of things for my life. A lot of them I’ve achieved, many I’ve not (looking at you well-appointed loft in NYC. You, too, Harvard.) Yet I never imagined I’d be a mom. I guess it was something I figured I’d do someday - that’s what women did, after all; became wives and mothers. Settled down. But it was never something I planned when squinting longingly at the grand expanse of my future. Today, I am a mom, and it’s a title I have been immeasurably changed by. I couldn’t possibly be more thankful for or inspired by my daughters. Two vastly different humans who have taught me more about empathy and compassion and patience and resilience and boundaries and *myself* than anything or anyone else ever could. Loving them is the easiest thing I’ve ever done while being a parent is absolutely the most difficult. I celebrate them - and the life we’ve carved out with one another - daily. I read the below quote about parenting and it hit home for me and made me tear up. I didn’t grow up hearing this phrase. Maybe that’s why it was the home I knew I always wanted to create for myself. And it’s the home Ive created now. Claro que también fue difícil, agotador por momentos, pero siempre tuve esa sensación de que si me tocó es porque podía y me iban a mostrar el camino que necesitaba transitar y siento que siempre es así con lo que nos toca... TIPS for surviving the 1st trimester when you’re chasing a tot: 1️⃣ Don’t beat yourself up! Accept that you will just NOT be an overachiever right now. The priority is your health and wellness and the needs of your growing family. 2️⃣ Try to encourage your tot to be independent. This is easier said than done (obviously) but with D I would set up a play area and he’ll just play on his own for a little which gives me time to breathe and a moment of rest. 3️⃣ Nap whenever possible. Even a snooze as short as 20 minutes helps! 4️⃣ Don’t be shy to enlist help. Ask your partner or family members to spare some time to take your little one out so you can rest. This is so important! 5️⃣ If you can check off things on your to-do list by online shopping then by god DO THAT 🙏🏽🤣 Save yourself from running around and expending energy! 6️⃣ Find ways to play with your babe so that you are able to sit comfortably. For example, find activities to do where you can lean back or sit on a chair or couch. It will save your back a lot of pain believe me. 7️⃣ Allow yourself moments to just feel emotional. It’s a lot. Your hormones will go a little crazy and it’s just part of the journey. Know that it’s normal and you are not alone. It’ll all be worth it ❤️ Any tips you would add to this list? I’ve got something to tell you.... I own a strap on pregnancy belly! Did I get you??? 🤣🤣🤣 No freaking way my body could survive a 5th pregnancy (I miscarried after my 1st).... after 3 big baby deliveries (2 naturally, 1 c section and prolapse surgery to repair- no joke it resembled a smash crab 🔨🦀 !) .... not to mention the mental pressure of a 4th and running a business. To ensure this never happens my hubby had the snip ✂️ 🎾 🎾 (big shout out to my main man- bloody legend! Thanks honey appreciate it and so does my body!) I’m grateful for being able to have children and thankful however this pelvic floor can hardly jump on a trampoline without nearly needing a loo and my hormones go freaking crazy on any birth control , Mirena (don’t get me started on that on) or implanol😉 - so it’s nice to just have fun now 💥💥. In saying all this.... Tandem nursing usually means little to no rest. This photo takes me back. The girls were about six months old at this point. I was getting very little sleep, and what I got was restless. - Our bedtime routine began around this time. We went upstairs to my bed and got them all snuggled in their sleep sacs. They often would tandem nurse in the side-lying stacked position, but this particular night Aria wasn’t having it. So Asher got the top bunk and passed right out. - These were some really tough times filled with little sleep and lots of unnecessary arguing. I thought it was my sleep deprivation that kept us constantly at odds, but I eventually realized, It’s HIM, not ME. Its actually been kind of great 🥰 Its given me the chance to slow down and focus on whats really important 👉🏼 growing a tiny a human!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While yes, Ive struggled with feeling a little scared to go to the grocery store without a mask 😷 my maternity clothes arriving 4 weeks after I reallllllly needed them 🤦🏼‍♀️ and having to change hospitals due to the maternity ward at our first preference becoming a designated Covid Clinic (thanks WA gov ✌🏼).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also coming to the realisation that maybe our family wont get to visit us in hospital. Maybe I wont get to host a baby shower. Maybe our nursery wont get finished. Are you really ok? I know many days it feels like I must of walked under 13 ladders and tipped over the salt, on a black cat, whilst I smashed a mirror 😂Some mornings start with every toddler tantrum in the book, followed by Willow literally giving me a weeks worth of poonami’s in the one morning. 30 nappies, me sweating, Harper screaming whilst I tried to wipe the bum of what felt like a drunk octopus. Some days I just feel not enough and I can’t even imagine the people going through lockdown in a Victoria feel like right now 😞♥️ I remember before I had willow I would have these days and would get so down about not feeling adequate enough. Now I’ve come to realise “hey that’s just life, we win some, and we occasionally get neck deep in shit, whilst trying to negotiate what pink cup your toddler wants - like it’s dependant on world peace” but heck there’s always tomorrow 😂🥂 Just remember YOU ARE ENOUGH and some days are just shit and that’s ok. Healing isnt linear. Theres twists and turns that sometimes cripples or strengthens you. Today is my birthday a day of celebration but this month, this year last year has been crippling. But I have to gather up my strength and face for my son. I lost both grandmothers due to cancer and now my mom has decided to not continue chemo. Its been challenging for her. Throughout all this is a reminder to you and myself to feel. Its okay if youre not okay. Your human. The thought of trying to be strong all the time has led me to regrets. True strength is showing your vulnerability and being honest to yourself. And understanding that weakness is just as valuable. Dont ignore these feelings, go through them, have patience with yourself and never allow the circumstances to change your vision for your life. Theres no rush in healing.
