Met de Wild Card wil de gemeente de knelpunten verhelpen, door deze in te zetten geeft Buurt Bestuurt de gemeente opdracht om een probleem snel op te lossen. In Hoek van Holland kwam er vanuit buurtcomité Buurt Bestuurt L’Avenue een Wild Card verzoek voor verkeersremmende maatregelen. In deze wijk is er niet alleen een tekort aan parkeerplekken, maar ervaren de inwoners met name een snelheidsprobleem: er wordt te hard gereden. We chose to donate to Valley Hospital, one of the nurse’s mothers caught wind and decided to donate food from pazza as well. . It was an honor to make our last lunch for the heroes on the frontline. Hometown H2O Project 2 Update: Meet the Gleason family, recipients of our second Hometown H2O well project! Previously, the Gleason family had to pump water from a nearby river or drive 40 miles to get drinking water from a spring. Steve Gleason suffers from COPD and heart issues, which make the already arduous treks to the river and spring even more dangerous than they already are. Combined with the risks that COVID-19 bring to the elderly and immunocompromised, the potential outcomes of not having direct access to running water are severe. The river pump used by the Gleason’s was unreliable and required ongoing repairs. Silt from the river flow builds up in the pump, causing it to fail and forcing the couple to use non-potable water collected from a rain barrel. The most recent failure resulted in a lack of running water to the home for two months, prompting the Gleason’s to heed a neighbor’s recommendation to apply for assistance through the Water Well Trust, a critical nonprofit partner of Xylem and Hometown H2O. The new well, which will provide Steve and Lana Gleason (both aged 69) with potable water directly to their home, marks Hometown H2O’s second well donation project this year! #hometownh2o #waterboys #cleanwater - @waterboysorg on Instagram

What an incredible honor to receive this today. There’s no opinion that means more to me than that of the local cannabis community. Stuart and I, spent a lovely 4 hours along with Paul and Sally Schmoeger putting up the beautiful summer baskets on the lampposts along Rochester High Street, around by the Cathedral and on railings along Minor Canon Row and the War Memorial. We had donations from many residents and organisations in Rochester which covered the costs and some lovely volunteers who planted up and looked after the baskets for several weeks. Raising cattle is what we love, and we have been doing it for 3 generations now. Sometimes you are working with animals 10 times your size, and other times it is a newborn in need of help. Livestock requires constant attention to maintain their health. The majority of my evenings are spent doing cattle checks to make sure everyone is in good shape. Around 10 years ago we began adding some sheep to our herd to help offset the loss of income as the burley tobacco industry began to struggle. Uncovering this little 2017 adventure from Svinklovene, Denmark, while I #stayathome to #flattenthecurve. These wild horses live along the shoreline of the North Sea, within the Svinkløv Dune Plantation – a 700 hectare state-owned historical site and internationally protected EU wildlife habitat area. Until the 13th century, there was a sea passage here called Sløjen, that offered merchant navies and Viking ships access to the Limfjord and the North Sea. Over time the wind and smashing waves have closed the passage with shifting sand along the coastline. In todays age, this is now a rugged and stunning landscape, and its natural inhabitants are absolutely spectacular. • While I angled my camera for these shots, the herds black stud watched me very intently, as he claimed his territory. My friend Christina Pedersen (who took me to this special spot), also stood patiently in the grass with these beauties... until the light dropped low against the horizon and the horses drifted into the grass covered dunes. Afterwards, my friend and I both laughed in disbelief that we had spotted and photographed these danish wildies. The Motion was lost and I called for a division (noted in the minutes who voted for and against). So who voted For Cr Carli Hannan’s Amendment for keeping WEEKLY garbage and recycling collection? Cr Annalivia Carli Hannan Cr Oscar Yildiz Cr Lambros Tapinos Cr John Kavanagh Cr Sue Bolton We then went back to the Substantive Motion (the original) and 9 Councillors voted for, while Cr Carli Hannan and I abstained (we declined to vote). Basically Councillors voted to cut your waste collection of red and yellow bins from weekly to fortnightly collection. No doubt we do more than just rates, roads and rubbish but one of the most fundamental tangible services we provide is the weekly collection of your bins. Anna and I are not against recycling and reducing waste but we are realistic and acknowledge that Moreland is not ready for fortnightly collections. COVID-19 has changed the way we work and as we spend more time at home we are creating more waste. Our bin lids are barely closing while some residents hope their neighbours bins are half full on bin night. The unloading and positioning took time in order not to damage the vessels which was to be avoided at all cost as these tanks are tailor made with specific dimensions for our cellar as well as our way of winemaking for the Susucaru Rosato. _______________ VASCHE FINALMENTE ARRIVATE!
