Taman kad smo se planirali baciti ozbiljnije na posao u nasem studiju, jucer ujutro nas je iznenadila poplava i poremetila nam planove 😱 Ali ste se nas tice, bolje poplava nego potres (nijedna salica nije ozlijedena u poplavi 🎉). Situacija se na prvu cinila ozbiljnija nego sto je, a vec smo za par sati uspjeli sve sanirati i vratiti vise manje na staro (ovo je ufotkano jutros) 🙏 😊 Hvala vam svima na porukama, savjetima kako se sto brze i lakse rijesiti vode (nismo se nikada ranije nasli u poplavi 🙈). On September 21 two animal services officers, one animal care technician and one of our amazing local veterinarians (@animalmcmv) deployed to assist with the emergency response for the North Complex Fire in Butte County. Initially our teams were working out in the field checking burnt out and evacuated areas for missing and injured animals. Staff wrangled donkeys, pigs and a number of cats and dogs. Our teams split up on Wednesday with one team continuing to work in the field, and the other working with the sheltering needs of the animals impacted by the fire. We were one of the few teams with a veterinarian, and we were able to set up a field hospital to tend to the animals suffering from burns and dehydration. In the midst of all the chaos and sadness our very own Dr. Fahrtash was able to help a sweet mama dog suffering from burns who was in the middle of giving birth. This girl delivered 14 very cute puppies (swipe👈🏼for the photo!) We are so happy that we can help our neighbors to the north, and provide our exceptional Mission Viejo animal care to these creatures in crisis. Our custom pottery collections are created exclusively for our stock by female hands. In total, we collaborate with three master artisan women in three different communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. All of our pottery is individually made without the use of moulds or modern equipment, and employs the same traditions that have been in place for thousands of years in our region of the country. Further to this, our collection is all pit fired, and every custom work – except for our upcoming smoked candleholders – are unglazed, food safe and oven safe. Our state of Oaxaca boasts over 70 towns that produce their own styles of pottery, with one of the most commonly used in local homes and restaurants being barro rojo. For over 20 generations, the community of San Marcos Tlapazola has produced a host of utilitarian and decorative works, all made from the light brown clay that’s found in and around their community. The clay is mixed with water and sand, the pieces are formed on a wheel that’s essentially comprised of a board on top of a rock, and they’re burnished with smooth river stones after the pit fire process, which typically takes about an hour. The firing process is traditionally done in open flames – a process which is admittedly hard on the lungs and bodies of the makers. Given this, we are pleased to share that our barro rojo maker and her sister, recently qualified for a smokeless kiln, which was built on their property, at no cost to them, by a local foundation. You can see photos of their new kiln and their property in our stories. These talented sisters produce our handmade berry colanders, as well as our exfoliating fish – which are collaborative pieces that are only made for our collection, and those of our select stockists. Good news! A team of scientists from Northwestern University in Illinois (US) have found a way to break down the bonds that make polyethylene. Polyethylene is one of the most common types of plastic. We find it many household products like plastic bags, bottles, etc. The process cuts the plastic polymer turning it into liquid oil. It does that through a catalytic technique using metal nanoparticles to chop the polymer apart. This liquid oil can then be used for other purposes, like lubricant, and scientists are looking into other potential uses. The strong bonds that make polyethylene are what makes plastic so durable. It is why plastic never degrades. रणक्षेत्र कावल्या बावल्या खिंड : २५ मार्च २०१७ इतिहास तेच घडवितात जे मरण तळहातावर घेवुन फिरतात. राजा राम महाराजांना वाचविण्यासाठी मुघलांच्या शेकडोंच्या फौजेला अवघ्या ८-९ जणांनी रोखुन धरणं म्हणजेच मरण तळहातावर फिरण होय. समोरुन काळ कवेत घेणार हे माहित असताना. काळाची ही मिठी काही काळ लांबवुन स्वराज्याचे छत्रपती राजाराम महाराजांना जिवदान देणारे जगताप व सर्कले हे सांदोशी गावचे वीर म्हणजे आजही आदर्शवत आहेत. ७ ते आठ वर्षा पुर्वी या ठिकाणी भेट दिली होती त्याच वेळेस या युद्धाची माहीती लोकांसमोर यावी आणि इथे धरातीर्थे पडलेल्या वीरांच्या वीरगळी एकेठिकाणी ठेवून जण माणसात आणण्याचा आमचा मानस होता ,तो माणसं या २५ मार्च ला पूर्ण झाला , स्थानिकांना या घटनेचे महत्व समजून दिल्यावर त्यांनी या कार्यासाठी आपला योगदान देण्याचे ठरवले , या आमचे दुर्गवीर श्री रामजी कदम यांनी आणि गावातील एक एक व्यक्तींनी आम्हाला या कार्या हातभार लावला ... या परिसर पडलेल्या वीरगळी एका चौथऱ्यावर ठेवण्यात आले , तेथे माहिती फलक, दिशादर्शक फलक बसविण्यात आले , या खिंडित झालेल्या या रणसंग्रामाची आठवण म्हणुन दुर्गवीर प्रतिष्ठान तर्फे गावक-यांच्या सोबतीने रणक्षेत्र कावले बावले हा कार्यक्रम दि.२५ मार्च २०१७ रोजी आयोजित करण्यात आला. विरगळींची स्वच्छता, शिवप्रतिमेचे पुजन करु सौ शिल्पाताई परब यांचे कावले बावले या विषयावरील व्याख्यान आयोजीत करण्यात आले. स्थानिकांना त्यांचा मुळ इतिहास जो त्यांना ज्ञात नव्हता तो त्यांना या कार्यक्रमाच्या माध्यमातुन समजाविण्यात आला. गावकरी व मुंबई, पुणे येथु लोकांना कार्यक्रमात आमंत्रित करण्यात आले होते. खिंडिच्या पायथ्याचे गाव सांदोशी येथे अतिशय दुर्लक्षीत असलेल्या ठिकाणी १५-२० विरगळी शोधुन त्यांची साफसफाई करण्यात आली. भविष्यात एक कायमस्वरुपी छप्पर उभारुन ऊन पावसापासुन यांचे संरक्षण करण्याचा मानस आहे..... या आमचे आधार स्थान असलेल्या श्री आप्पा परब यांचे मोलाचे मार्गदर्शन लाभले.. आपणही या ठिकाणी भेट देऊन आपला इतिहासाला पुन्हा उजळणी द्या .. #repost #durgveer #दुर्गवीर - @durgveer on Instagram

Scientists have created a new super enzyme that can break down plastic up to six times faster than their previous enzyme. A team of researchers that previously re-engineered a plastic-eating enzyme named PETase have now combined it with a second enzyme to speed up the process, according to the University of Portsmouth. The super enzyme could have major implications for recycling polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, which is the most common thermoplastic used in single-use drink bottles, carpets, and clothing. The Place is Near Gateway of India, opposite to Hotel Taj. This man in the photo was collecting garbage that could be recycled. PART 3 - ‘As the waste crisis narrows and we start to look at our habits and how much waste we are creating, it’s equally as important to start questioning how this waste can actually be reduced and reused responsibly. On average only 30% of plastic bottles are being recycled, with 1.5 billion being used per day. So we find ourselves at a cross roads, and our reduce, reuse, recycle motto may be falling short as 70% of these bottle are being rejected and dumped into yet another overwhelmingly large pile of waste. Out of all the post consumer waste that we might put into our recycling bins including plastic, glass, metal, paper and cartons that “Typically, 50% of what you put in your recycling bin is never recycled. Its sorted and thrown out,” said Tom Szaky, CEO of @terracycle, a recycling company. This is partly due to user error, a common problem which occurs when people place un-recyclable materials into recycling bins. The error of this recycling issue, goes far wider than just plastic, even with the most conscious consumer washing bottles and jars, crushing cartons and breaking down boxes. We might sort these items into their designated bins or bags, but once we lose sight of the recyclables, the rest of the process is an abstraction. With this in mind, and the awareness that plastic is our largest pollutant, the question is; what can we do with this plastic on the other side of it’s intended singular life cycle? And how can we make make it more functional with the knowledge that it has a seriously sturdy and long life span? There are some very clever cookies around the world, entrepreneurs, who are finding all kinds of wonderful ways to turn bottles into construction objects such as fence posts, bricks, flooring, tiles, boats and more. With even complete houses being constructed from the use of plastic bottles. Ante tanta demanda de vecinos enviándonos imágenes de como esta su barrio, sus calles, sus parques y jardines etc etc .... desde Almería Postureo y terminada una reunión ahora mismo, hemos decidido formar grupos de 10 personas para limpiar todos los monumentos, parques, zonas de ocio y zonas de juegos de nuestra ciudad. Mañana queremos hablar con distintas empresas para que nos cedan elementos y aparatos de limpieza y así colaborar los almerienses para tener su ciudad limpia y cuidada ya que parece que nadie lo hace. Esta claro y siempre lo decimos que el ser humano mancha y ensucia mucho, pero por eso hay que tener un equipo de limpieza para dar soluciones a tantos problemas. Aprovechamos para hacer ese llamamiento a ferreterías, viveros, etc etc para que nos donen equipos de limpieza como escobas, bolsas, guantes, recogedores, semillas para plantar plantas y arboles en tantos parques abandonados como el boticario donde posiblemente comenzaremos etc etc ... Sin más muchísimas gracias a todos los que nos habéis aportado ideas, como siempre decimos sois todos bienvenidos y además os esperamos de corazón para que estéis con nosotros codo con codo limpiando la ciudad.
