I spend a lot of time in here working on and crafting tunes, learning new things, failing, succeeding, growing. Sometimes two steps forward, one step back. Sometimes I hit a wall. Sometimes it’s a painful process. Other times it flows like water. And sometimes I get lucky and have something that gets put out into the world and is heard by millions of people (brand new material by Le Destroy, titled “KillKill”, made it into “Night City Wire: Episode 2” and “Tools of Destruction” for @cyberpunkgame. Thankful for everyone behind the scenes who gave me an opportunity to show my mettle). I’m grateful to have this little corner to call my own with a few pieces of gear that I love and utilize regularly. Proud of those showing up to protest and defend PDX and support BLM. There is so much misinformation out there about what’s happening in Portland. All images of so-called violence, ignited by graffiti and the arrival of federal agents are taking place within a 1-2 block radius downtown late at night. Everywhere else the streets are calm and protests are peaceful. I don’t support violence or property damage and want the focus back on BIPOC voices and everyone’s safety. Feeling gratitude today about becoming a parent with Buddy! I think May has me feeling all the fertile feels. 🌸🌿💗🌞✨ . . We have changed so much over the six years of being together. From Utah snowboard bums to firefighting, to raising a strong little girl now. I feel so safe to change skins and be different with him. We’re not always on the same page but I’ve come to learn that’s normal and to really appreciate and utilize the times when we’re synced up. I’ve also learned to appreciate my freedom when left alone and use my discomfort to break free from abandonment issues and codependent relationship patterns. This is 30. It’s a wild time to have your #DirtyThirty but as weird as it is, honestly, I’m just feeling really lucky for what I have, the amazing people that put up with me and for some of things I’ve accomplished that the younger, shyer, chubbier me wouldn’t ever believe. Here’s a few highlights: 1. Traveling to 30 countries before my 30th bday (we got lucky on this one and crossed off #30 in January pre-Corona). 2. A few incredible people taking a chance on me for my career in LA, NYC, working on some of my dream brands and having some incredible mentors I’m in awe of to this day. 3. Having an incredible family and siblings in Utah who support me even though I’m the wild/weird one in the fam and being an uncle x5 to the cutest nieces and nephews in the game. 4. To really growing by learning to recognize my blind spots, share my weaknesses, confront my imposter syndrome, asking for help, and learning bet on other people as much as I bet on myself. 5. Some wild moments that I still can’t believe happened to this day. From running a marathon on The Great Wall and dinner with a mob boss in Beijing🇨🇳 to Running with The Bulls in Pamplona🇪🇸 to diving with bull sharks in Fiji 🇫🇯and whale sharks in the Philippines 🇵🇭 from surfing with penguins in Brazil 🇧🇷 to safaris and waterfalls in South Africa🇿🇦 from crashing The Royal Wedding in the UK 🇬🇧 to MCing my best friend’s wedding in Vietnam 🇻🇳 from being being on a billboard in Times Square 🗽 to winning a twerking competition off the coast of Jamaica 🇯🇲. Another great #riverwondergrass ~ We put in at the Gates of Lodore in a snow storm and drank hot cocoa to warm our insides. The next morning the sun slowly lifted the cold shadow of the canyon walls. From then on out we were graced with all the warmth a late summer could provide. With the brilliant musical vibes of @_thornpipe_ and @flatpicktyler ~ each evening was embellished with folk ballads and bluegrass. last year i was so burnt out i took a 6 month break from working to do new and interesting things around the city. one of those things was meeting and helping out brooklyn based artist @saraerenthalart - these photos were all taken on the #ql17giii #unedited - we took the motorcycle out to rockaway and I remember hanging out with loud patrons of a locals bar while Sara posted a small paste up on the nearby pole. someone asked me where they could get motorcycle lessons. we ended the night getting some cheap authentic Indian food at a spot Sara knew of on the ride home. the light was harsh there and the owner didn’t really have any prices set. the food was authentic but cold. another time i helped her with the backing of some paintings for her then upcoming gallery show, which turned out to be a big success. one of my fonder memories of the summer. - @_dipsi on Instagram

‘EKYMBO’ - OUT 10TH OF JULY 2020: ‘Ekymbo is the collaboration between artist Oliver Patrice Weder and sound-smith John Ashley, who met outside a grungy blues bar during a night out on the canals of Amsterdam. After Ashley shared his passion for music hardware and experimental sounds, Weder invited him to his studio to hang out and Ashley unexpectedly turned up with a bag full of drum machines. These just happened to provide the perfect backdrop to Weder’s affected keys, synth bass and loop station, and after a month or two of intense jamming, they realised they were on to something. A few late-night experimental sessions later, and they had enough material to create an album. 1.září je pro mě zvlášť důležitý den. Přesně před pěti lety jsem se vydala do samostatného, dospělého života. Pochopí to asi jenom ten, co to zažil, ale smíšenost pocitu ala “JE TO BOMBA” a “NECHÁM TU VŠE A LETÍM DOMU” mě doprovázela hodně dlouho. Doteď si hodně výrazně pamatuju zlomový moment, kdy jsem v hysterii volala mámě a prosila ji, ať mi koupí letenku do Kazachstánu, že už to nezvládám. V klidu mi řekla “dobře, ale bude to jen jedna letenka a zpátky už se nevrátíš, budeš prostě žít v Kazachstánu”. Po půlhodině jsem ji volala zpátky a řekla, že to ještě zkusím. Za 5 let se Česko stalo mým domovem, který miluju každou buňkou svého těla. Zažila jsem zde první bolavou zamilovanost, poznala jsem tady přátelství, poznala jsem tady lidi, co tě můžou ojebat jen kdy se dá ale taky lidi, který skoro neznáš a udělají pro tebe všechno. Splnila jsem si zde svůj sen a stala jsem se zpěvačkou. Byla doba, kdy jsem měla peníze jenom na nejlevnější těstoviny a sójovku a nikdy jsem o tom nerekla rodině. What to do in between gigs? This is a big question with no easy answer... but I’ve spent the past 10 years developing a practical approach to this question. In a world of content creation, you have to constantly be creating. That means, when you send in your final mix, you immediately get back to creating. During these times I push every musical boundary that I know, with the tools that I have, in order to try and develop new techniques. Most of the advancement of my sound was created during these in-between times where there are no boundaries on what I create. Then, when the next project rolls around, I’m inspired and equipped with a new sound design technique not learned from YouTube. It’s mine, it’s unique. At the moment, I think this is the most important thing you can do during these times... innovate, grow, and stay sharp so that when the next opportunity comes, your ready for it. I guess one thing applies to all collectors, no matter what you collect: once you`ve started, you`re literally overrun by the collecting bug. I cant make out an exact date when it all began, but over 1.800 records have piled up over the years. These span a period from 1956 until today (thats what Discogs says) and the collection includes LPs, Maxi Singles, 10 and 7inches, picture and shaped vinyl, and Boxsets. Since I am not into a specific genre, I call it a potpourri of everything. A busy visual. I did a full-blown gear shootout this afternoon to see what I could pare down before a rehearsal tonight. I’m pretty content with the guitars. It’s those amps; I just cant decide whether I can use that Supro enough to make it worth keeping; the Bassman is loud and rowdy and the Deluxe is my everyday amp.(Ill reiterate that the Marshall is ridiculous and doesn’t come into serious gear conversations). I’m not a collector, so if something gets a little dusty, I like to move it along.
