Covid time killer... keep rearranging your apartment every couple weeks. But for real, this is my new happy place. For the first time in a long time I am on my own again. I moved in weeks before the pandemic shut the world down, it was the first apartment I looked at, the only one that was in my budget and that had a kitchen. When I first stepped through their doors of this place I knew I was going to live here, how I wanted it to look, how the kitchen would be set up to actually be conducive to cooking (not pictured, still have some projects to complete in there), to where all my art was going to be displayed. I was only wrong about the last part! I keep starting new projects and buying things to incorporate. This is just a step along the way. I am happy with the results so far. - @chfpants on Instagram

NEST During quarantine, I increasingly realised the necessity of having a home that keeps your mind comfortable and creative. Fortunately, I had the privilege of creating such a place for myself over the last five years of my studies in the lovely city of Cologne. After my graduation in the beginning of this year, this apartment was the place where I built my website and was reaching out to people. Slowly the pile of work that can be done from home became smaller. By that time, I wasn’t putting any physical projects to action for around two month already, which made me feel quite restless. Generally, I was holding up great during isolation, but not having place to build things with my hands was gradually messing with my feeling of happiness. Even though I love my home in Cologne with all my heart, a wish for new beginnings started to sprout. Moving out of this apartment was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make yet. Las obra Dos Casas Conde es un conjunto de dos viviendas individualesfue proyectada por el estudio @hitzig.militello.arquitectos en la cual los arquitectos respondieron a las demandas de dos clientes diferentes. El objetivo fue repartir equitativamente el volumen edificable entre ambos propietarios sin que perdiesen la posibilidad de tener acceso a todo el conjunto. La estrategia fue repartir de manera cruzada los metros que les correspondían, de modo que ambas unidades giran en torno al eje del patio central. Para no perder metros útiles, se decidió sacar las escaleras como si fueran mangas-puentes que conectan ambas unidades. РЕМОНТ. Часть 1 Тема ремонта настолько обширная, что даже фотки не влезли в один пост. Ворэвэр. Что мы имели на входе? Помещение полность внутри обделанное коричневым сайдингом, жёлтые от сигаретного дыма окна, отсутствие 2-х окон, железная страшная и не закрывающаяся дверь, непонятная вытяжка, которая не работала, на окнах страшные коричневые жалюзи, 2 ниши с полками, пол из листов фанеры. Что сделали? 1. Мы сняли сайдинг. Внутри оказалась сносная обрешетка 2. Провели новую разводку под свет, розетки, выключатели. А под печи для каждой свою розетку 3. Одели обрешетку в гипсокартон, с откосами и полотком, и выстроили стену из гипсокартона для печной 4. Покрасили гипсокартон: одну стену пыльной розой, 2 стены Рома покрасил так, чтобы типа казалось ободрано, четвёртая стена просто светло-серая, она с окнами 5. Положили ламинат, самый дешёвый, что смогла найти в карантин в Сочи в наличии(580руб кажется) 6. Повесили светильники, в том числе и те, что мне сделали ребята из кузни по-соседству. 7. Пришлось докупить стеллажа в икее, покрасить его в чёрный 8. Заменили фанеры с дырами в окнах на стеклопакет, купила и новую дверь. Стало больше света 9. Глеб с гор принёс корягу - она стала светильником. Планируем плафоны сделать из фарфора.(дойдут ли руки?) Все вместе эт дело обошлось мне около 200к. Заняла сама у себя, теперь отдаю сама себе. Ну вы поняли, не муж олигарх, а я олигарх, блин😆 В следующий раз покажу двор и че сделали во дворе!😉 Новый тэг #ceramic_hugs_remont . ...lubię tą moją małą pracownię. Szkoda tylko że nie ma w niej więcej parapetów na kwiaty ;) Prowadzenie własnej manufaktury to przedsięwzięcie przynoszące mi ogrom radości i satysfakcji. Każdy pozytywny komentarz od moich klientów cieszy mnie niezmiernie i motywuje do dalszego rozwoju. Jednak, jak to bywa w przypadku prowadzenia własnego biznesu, nie zawsze jest różowo. I właśnie tę ciemniejszą stronę chciałabym Wam dzisiaj przybliżyć. Meet Katie Mello. She has been part of our stop-motion fabrication team for more than 15 years. Her experience and wisdom for making puppets is vast. Her touches are seen on every project shot on our stages. Read below to find out more about the woman behind the puppets. . Q: What do you do? A: I make puppets for stop motion animation. Q: Why are you in animation? A: I have been really interested in practical effects for movies for as long as I can remember. I would read all the books I could about how movies were made. Then CG came along while I was in high school and I could see the writing on the wall. I grew up in Portland where Will Vinton was a big part of the city, so I was aware of animation. I studied animation in college and was lucky enough to make a career of making things. Q: Whats the hardest part of your job? A: Time constraints are the biggest difficulty for me now. Starting out the hardest thing was to not take changes personally. In order to do a good job you have to try your hardest and really put you all into things. When a director tells you to change something after you worked so hard on it it can be difficult. You have to remember this is not because you did anything wrong, they have just changed their mind for whatever reason. They dont care how hard you worked, you just have to change it and do a great job again. Q: Whats happens when you fail? A: Two things: 1. You learn. I try to tell my kids all the time that you learn so much more from failing than from success. If something is easy right way you might not fully understand it and just be lucky. When something is hard and goes wrong you, really have to learn all about it to make it right. When I am working with materials, I like to see how far I can push them before they break, then I know more about it moving forward. 2: You let someone down. That is the worst thing for me; I hate that. We are all a part of a group here and when you mess up you can effect a whole lot of other people.
