So I normally wouldnt photograph or brag on a good deed done but this one comes with a funny story that caused me stress for like 6 months. So before the mass quarantine I bought this hight tech new fangled electronic dog door of the internet for like $600 and change, add shipping and shit and it came out to roughly $850. Long story short, I spend all afternoon setting up this monstrosity, hate it, its defective, heavy, loud, I tear it down, box it all back up and call to return it. Petco said they arent taking in-store returns because of covid and so on and so forth. They tell me not to worry, they know it sucks but after quarantine all sale refunds will be reset so my three original months to return are stretched out. Once again, long story short, I keep the fucking thing in the back of my Yukon till the Yukon takes a shit and all the electrical is fucked and I cant get back in it, things get less important over time and I buy a new truck. Time to sell the Yukon now, I remember the dog door is in back, go to return it and Im too late. Petco cant give me cash back for this nightmare dog door but they offer me store credit which is very cool. At least Im not fucked. Anyways, who needs that much pet shit??? So this is what $950 worth of dog/cat food and kitty litter looks like. A shitty situation turned good and Im happy to be able to donate some supplies and kibble. Dont forget to help animals. People typically have the tools to help themselves. Animals do not and they are basically at our mercy. - almost 1.5 years in Australia and I have done every dirty job. You name it and there is a chance that I might have already done it. My first pay here was $2 coin; I still have it. I helped an old lady at Woolworths, Corrimal put the groceries in her car. She gave me those two dollars . I am not going to go on about the details of all the jobs I have done and how they have shaped me. When I came to Australia, I came with multiple motives, one of which was to completely rip my existence apart or whatever was left of it. In the video, you see me pushing trolleys. I push them for 7 hours almost, with 5 minute breathers every 3 hours. Then I get paid, 50% of which I donate to Yemen. . I have worked 7 day weeks for 82 days in a row waking up at 1 am and with no sleep pattern. My Instagram bio reads “I am meant to do greater things in life” and I will. I am here for a purpose. The purpose is that I am NOT going to paint a PRETTY PICTURE OF STRUGGLE. The only pretty picture of struggle is success; which for me is gratitude . People often ask me these days, you don’t seem like your Instagram profile. You talk a lot, you laugh a lot and you are lame. I will tell you why; because I am at peace with myself. I have ripped myself apart over & over again & developed a new me over & over again until I achieved peace with existence . As brutal as it may sound, I was once told something about my “aukaat”. How it was said was wrong, but it was true, “nahi thi to nahi thi”. It took me a long time to achieve that peace. It required a lot of tears, pain, conviction and most importantly hard work. I have spent countless nights howling but no more. I am not afraid anymore; more importantly HARD WORK HAS BECOME MY HABIT . One of the first Amazon Fresh stores will open at the former Haggen/Albertsons location on Spring Street, ending long debates and wild-guessing on such social media sites as Nextdoor, which has been abuzz with speculation and wish-lists over what will go into the space since Haggen closed its store five years ago. IMPORTANT: Although today is Day 1 of #SharkWeek, the ocean has another horrifying environmental disaster on its hands, so we’ve decided to share this news as our Day 1 post. A Japanese cargo ship carrying 4 tonnes of oil was ran aground on a coral reef in Mauritius and 1 tonne of oil has leaked into the sea. Workers were allegedly seeking to stop more oil from leaking, but with high winds and rough seas on Sunday there were reports of new cracks to the ships hull. The shocking thing is, the ship was ran aground on the 25th of July. There have been no answers from officials that have been reported as to how the spill has got this bad when they knew about the issue since that time. Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has declared a state of emergency and appealed for international help. He said the spill “represents a danger” for the country of 1.3 million people that relies heavily on tourism and has been hurt by travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Satellite images show a dark slick spreading in the turquoise waters near wetlands that the government called “very sensitive.” Wildlife workers and volunteers, meanwhile, ferried dozens of baby tortoises and rare plants from an island near the spill, Ile aux Aigrettes, to the mainland. Uni students, citizen volunteers, wildlife carers are removing the oil with their bare and hand buckets! A fazenda, que possui área de aproximadamente 5km², juntamente com outras três fazendas (Rio Negro, São João do Triunfo e Paranavaí), compõe o Centro de Estações Experimentais e são utilizadas em atividades didático-pedagógicas dos cursos de Agronomia, Engenharia Florestal, Engenharia Industrial Madeireira, Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia. Segundo os coordenadores do CEPAG, o projeto de atualização cartográfica tem como objetivo principal fornecer informações atualizadas sobre os limites físicos da fazenda através da elaboração de planta e memorial georreferenciados, visando o levantamento do perímetro e verificação da área legal junto ao Registro de Imóveis. Para a elaboração das informações georreferenciadas serão utilizadas as tecnologias de Veículo Aéreo Não Tripulado (VANT), levantamento geodésico utilizando receptores do sistema de navegação global por satélites (GNSS), bem como a implantação de uma rede topográfica de precisão que servirá de apoio em atividades de levantamento in loco. Será produzida base cartográfica para ambiente GIS, em escala 1:1000 e os resultados serão integrados ao projeto UFPR CampusMap (www.campusmap.ufpr.br). (👉 swipe right for before/after) . @fon_tiyapipat, project coordinator tells the story: During a motorbike ride to the site, one of the community members told me how he named the Mangrove Restoration by his village, Sweet Dream Project. He, then continued, imagine you had to go to bed during monsoon season fearing the sea waves would take away the roof of your house in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, those events occurred 3-4 times in the past to many residing ashore. . Restored mangrove doesnt only help mitigate natural disasters, regenerate ecosystems, increase food security, sequester carbons, etc., it also gives people a tight sleep, and the possibility to rest easy. . HWFʻs @ma_gdalena973 and @mandy_on_maui helped excavate the first hawksbill nest of the season yesterday with our partners at DLNR. Five live hatchlings were recovered from this nest that would not have been able to emerge on their own. With an endangered species like this, every little hatchling matters! *All monitoring and excavation activities are carried out by trained Hawai’i Wildlife Fund biologists and volunteers operating under endangered species permits with state and federal agency partners (USFWS TE829250-9 and DLNR SAP 2020-63) and following CDC, Maui County and state guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Never touch, approach, or harass sea turtle hatchlings or adults in the wild. As of September 25th, The Anna Maria Beach renourishment project is currently located just south of 17th Street and north of 12th Street in Bradenton Beach, and advancing south. Next week they are projecting to work to 6th Street. The project is 69% complete based on schedule. Sailing update. SV Ever After. Current location, Bodega Bay CA. 740 miles logged. Approximately 500 to go to San Diego. Long passages between ports. Lack of sleep. Constant fog. Rolling seas. Seasick crew member. Heavy smoke and ash from Oregon fires.. Electrical charging issues being addressed. Burning more diesel than we planned. Motored 90% since Labor Day. None the less... Promising days ahead. Anticipate we sail into the Bay Area under the Golden Gate on Sunday. Family and friends coming to meet us. That gives us some encouragement. Shorter passages and friendly sails ahead. In summary theres a reason theres not a lot of sailors north of San Francisco on the left coast. This has been the biggest challenge weve undertaken in quite some time. Weve learned, accomplished and overcome. Its been worth the journey.
