We were blessed with entrepreneurs with existing businesses and ventures through to those who were birthing their new ideas and visions into fruition. We attracted in the most amazing of attendees. Hi there! Thanks for your sweet notes on my family photo. Running a farm and design studio and trying to be present during my busy season when my kids have lots of down time is a challenge to say the least. Doing that during a pandemic- when I’m managing my business solo to save on extra expenses...yea well... let’s just say: lots of very late nights and very early mornings. This work isn’t for the faint of heart during “normal” times. It’s ever-changing. It’s moving from farmer to engineer to event planner to designer to accountant to marketer to delivery person— sometimes multiple times in the same day. I’m determined to share some behind the scenes peeks this week as I start to transition to fall. I’m going to start constructing 2 new @farmersfriendllc tunnels. 1 will serve to expand my seedling propagation set up and bulb forcing grow space in anticipation of 50,000 (yep- that’s right— 50k— according to my order confirmations) tulip bulbs that are slated to arrive this October. 18,000 are for early season blooming (Christmas through February), then about 12,000 for March, April, and early May when the outdoor tulips begin blooming around Mother’s Day. Warning: hard work ahead. But what you see here is the pay off. These 4 bridal bouquets went out to clients in the last 5 days. In life, we often talk about things we “have to” do. I’d like to introduce a life full of things we “get to” do. The “have to’s” feel heavy, right? Major ugh! I “have to” get up at 6am. I “have to” go to a job I hate. I “have to” homeschool my kids. Almost an idea of a necessary evil, right? With all things in life, we can reframe them to something we “get to” do, and start designing a life from that paradigm! Here’s an example: I “have to” pay my bills. Yes, paying bills is a fact of life for many people. Here’s the “get to” reframe: I “get to” pay my bills so I can live in a beautiful home, stay connected to those I love, enjoy a life full of powerful technology, etc etc. It’s a matter of shifting our perspective to gratitude and toward what we truly value from the life we have. It’s also an opportunity to create a life full of “get to’s” where we are only creating from that mind-frame. And now during quarantine, for many of us lots of the external “have to’s” in life are melting away. Last Sunday I had my third meeting with the group of men from my course (#TheAttractiveHero). few of them, for different reasons couldnt make it. Usually I record the session in order to be available for the people who are not present, but this time was not just one or two people less. For me its important to have them (almost) all present to have great results together. So I proposed to postpone the course session and to have instead a sharing evening. Also, my course sessions are usually 2 hours long but I thought to give us 1 hour and then check if eventually we would like to keep on. It turned up to be a sharing session longer than 2 hours! We had a deep and beautiful time and at the end everyone was happy and satisfied, more connected to each other. This kind of sharing meetings (also known as mens circle) are actually very simple in the format and extremely needed by almost every man. In fact, the average man when hes with his friends doesnt open so much. Men when are together usually dont share their shadows, fears, intimate life (unless its about spicy adventures with new women) or sexual issues. While women in general have the tendency to share very intimate details and issues about their life, men just stay closed and act in a way that they think is masculine. Unfortunately this attitude can have the opposite result, making them more insecure, depressed, and probably projecting their frustration into their relationships. When men have the opportunity to share their deep issues and shadows with other brothers in a supporting space, magic happens. Especially men that are in a path of evolution and they feel misunderstood or disconnected by their friends. A simple thing like this can give great result in personal (and social) development. We really need more mens sharing groups, everywhere. This is an invitation to anyone who feels inspired to start a mens circle in his own town. It’s been said that fear of failure is fear of growth.
