Na zdjęciu znajduje się okładka słoweńskiego wydania „Rdzy”, które za dwa tygodnie ukaże się nakładem KUD Sodobnost. Książkę przetłumaczył (z tego, co słyszałem, znakomicie) Klemen Pisk. Niedługo później w Rosji wydawnictwo ACT opublikuje „Dygot”, który przełożył Denis Viren, a na początku przyszłego roku w Niemczech nakładem Secession Verlag ukaże się „Rdza” w tłumaczeniu Renate Schmidgall. W Holandii wyczerpał się cały nakład „Rdzy”, a potem cały pierwszy dodruk, i właśnie przygotowano kolejny. To naprawdę niesamowite, że mały albinos Wiktor szepcze ludziom do uszu w innych krajach, że na nocnych stolikach czekają na powrót swoich właścicieli rozpoczęte historie o Chojnach, że jacyś czytelnicy w swoich fotelach, w tramwajach i na ławkach w parku przeżywają te opowieści w językach, w których nie potrafiłbym się nawet przywitać. So we got through the first part of the forest and now we are passing over The Lost Plain which ends where the entrance of the valleys begin. This album has meant so much to me and I’m so grateful it’s now out for the whole world to experience (and it should). It’s hard to describe exactly what that experience is like. It somehow “takes me back” and yet pushes me forward. It absolutely breaks me and yet its melodies and lyrics make me battle ready. It leaves me speechless and it puts fire in my bones. It brings me to tears and it makes me want to dance (yes, even me). It does a lot of things that normal songs, written by normal people can’t and shouldn’t be able to do. Which leads me to believe that there’s something on it. Something tangible. Powerful. Undeniable. Potentially reckless (or perhaps “rowdy”). But definitely good. Real. New. Yet familiar. Cahuenga Pass EP out today! Available everywhere you listen to music. Last Summer I summited Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous US. Gazing out over all that granite and sky whilst standing at the highest point in California was a peak life experience. I was bitten by a terrestrial overview effect and came down with a mild-case of mountain fever. However, the title of my newest EP refers to a very low mountain pass which connects the Los Angeles Basin to the San Fernando Valley via U.S. Route 101, The Hollywood Freeway. I was born in Hollywood and raised in the San Fernando Valley and lately been thinking about being over the hill. I’ve also been thinking about getting older in terms of going home, or even more as going towards death and learning to be ok with it. Seems as if were there much longer than were here, wherever that may or may not be. Luckily, at only 745 ft, the Cahuenga Pass is not exactly the biggest midlife crisis. We were privileged to work with a phenomenal spread of artists from around the world for this collection, and the resulting album is more cohesive than I could have ever thought. What started as an homage to Ernest Hoods 1975 joy in reminiscence morphed into something all together its own. Proceeds will benefit @anhdnycs Center for Community Leadership, one of NYCs longest running organizer training programs. They work to train grassroots leaders to strengthen their potential to affect sustainable community change. Created in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement, they each individually channeled their love for black culture into the creation of a sticker design. Sold as a pack of 4 stickers, 2 of the stickers included will be of Joshua’s design ( BLM #lettering sticker ) and the other 2 stickers included will be of Patrick’s design ( #MarvinGaye sticker ). The financial exchange for our sticker pack is a suggested minimum donation of $8. Although, if you are able, we strongly suggest that you donate more. 🖤🧡 For each donation, $1 will go to the production cost of stickers, postage, and envelopes and the rest of the money raised will be donated in equal parts to two organizations that they truly believe in: City of Dreams ( @cityofdreamssf ) and The Equal Justice Initiative ( @eji_org ). 🖤🧡 We are so excited and honored to have been chosen to partner with such incredible artists! 🖤🧡 If you’d like to donate to this project, there are three payment options they have to offer ( listed below ) and we invite you to partake in whichever method that best suits you. Still buzzing from being announced as a finalist in the Etsy Design Awards 2020. The item that’s been shortlisted is our Pen Pals charity postcards. Pen Pals, are a set of 100% recycled postcards designed to raise awareness of elderly loneliness. 25% of the proceeds will go to @age_uk. Created at the start of lockdown, a period of isolation that was strange and isolating for us all, is sadly what a lot of elderly people experience every day. We decided to try and raise awareness of this issue and the amazing work @age_uk does by offering a range of services to help the elderly in our communities feel supported, from information and advice to befriending services. We wanted to encourage people to ditch their devices in favour of the good old pen and paper. Reach out to friends, check in with them and send them something they will want to keep. Sometimes we get it right in the first round, but often times it takes a couple of iterations before we really find the perfect solution. Between the design artboards to even the actual iterations that is sent to the clients there are a lot many iterations. And we actually love that part of the design process! — We enjoy creating a more holistic experience for our clients so we can figure out what works and what doesn’t together. As well as making sure that every design decision we make has meaning and purpose behind it. — Rebranding projects is a very different ball game. It’s not easy to change years of people’s perception for a particular brand. One wrong move and it’s the brand that will suffer. An ideal Rebranding is when most of the people don’t really realise when the change took place. The moving over has to be that smooth.
