Me he descargado la aplicación “Radar Covid”. La verdad es que está muuuy bien, y es muy muy importante que la tengamos cuantas más personas mejor. Te la descargas, mantienes activado tu Bluetooth, y si has estado en contacto estrecho con alguien que ha dado positivo en covid-19, te llegará un aviso. ¡No tienes que hacer nada más! No guarda datos ni sabe tu localización (os comparto por stories un artículo de la Vanguardia donde responde a muchas preguntas sobre su funcionamiento). Esta nueva herramienta puede ayudar muchísimo si todo el mundo se la descarga. Aún no funciona en todas las comunidades autónomas, pero si te la descargas harás presión a tu comunidad para que la ponga en marcha. « J’ai 6 enfants ! 3 garçons, 3 filles... » En voyant le contenu de mon compte Instagram, la petite-fille de “Nanou” (chère dame que vous pouvez voir en photo) m’a sollicité afin de photographier sa grand-mère pour son anniversaire. Malheureusement, je n’ai pas pu être présent à la date précise mais il fallait au moins que cela se fasse dans le courant du mois d’août. J’ai été accueilli par une des filles elle-même portraitiste, avec laquelle j’ai eu un long échange sur les techniques de photographie et de l’art en général. Comme je dis souvent, toutes mes rencontres sont différentes mais c’est surtout qu’elles sont UNIQUES. Elle s’était apprêtée avec l’aide de sa fille dans le but d’être photographiée et me racontait un peu son parcours mais surtout celui de ses enfants. Je lui ai aussi montré des Préchotains que j’avais eu l’occasion de photographier et elle les a tous reconnu : « ah ben tiens elle, j’ai fais école avec elle ! » ; « Roberte !! C’est ma voisine, elle habite un peu plus bas là... ». We had many things in common, like our fierce love of dancing and our strong love for our Costa Rican culture. Lito was an original Tico, he loved his coffee and gallopinto. His stature matched his personality, he was the life of the party. Mesmerized by his stories of the old days, I would record many of his conversations. My favorite by far was the love story of when he met my grandmother, Nana. I inherited his passion for photography and all things beautiful. About a week ago, my Grandma Vicki passed away. I don’t have a picture with her since 2007 {my wedding} because she did not like her picture taken!. She was definitely an opinionated thing and she made her opinions known. She wasn’t subtle at all. My family calls me “little Vicki” because there are so many traits that I have inherited from her. I used to think it was a little bit of a bad thing… she was moody, a bit bossy and stubborn and I saw all of those things in myself and I didn’t like it. But over the past year, I’ve decided to take it as a compliment. She was a strong woman who fought for what she wanted all the way up until the end of her life. She worked hard her whole life and lived a modest lifestyle… maybe even a little cheap as I can remember her collection of coupons she’d clipped for her groceries each week. She loved my grandpa so much and was a wonderful wife. She loved owls BEFORE they were cool… literally hundreds of owls in her house. Her sunroom was PACKED with plants… again before they were cool. So while she definitely had her weaknesses that we can all point out, I think I’d be ok being categorized as a strong, hardworking woman who loves her husband, collects owls and has a plant obsession. I’ll miss her a lot and I’m sad that my sons don’t get to know her. I’ll miss playing candy crush and comparing what level we were on… she definitely was always ahead of me. I pray she’s in the arms of Jesus and feeling no pain right now, probably being a little stubborn and bossy up there but overall in no pain living out eternity in peace. - @kristi.zobrist on Instagram

In today’s times of liquid loves and disposable relationships, it is unfortunately rare to see a long-lasting relationship. If you’re anything like me, seeing a love thrive and endure the test of time doesnt only touch the heart, it’s absolutely inspirational. • • I’m blessed to have had a relationship with Alvin and Carol Ann for 8 wonderful years. Every Friday Alvin would take Carol Ann to their favorite local Brownfield Diner, The Cub Drive-In, for lunch and proceed to bring her to Lubbock to get her hair done, by me, @2pm on the dot! It was his special treat to her every week. • • A little over 10 years ago, Carol Ann was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and Dementia, which we know there is no cure for. • • After 6 years of doing her hair in the salon, for health and safety Alvin placed her in a home where she could receive the care he couldn’t give her. I decided that if they can’t come to the salon, then I would bring the Salon to her. Again, for the past 2 years, every Friday afternoon I would take time to visit them and fix her hair. • • Alvin has never let anything stop him from giving her the care, love, support she always needed and always giving her everything he could possibly give. “..My wife needs me and I wouldn’t leave her...” And he never broke that promise. • • Today I received a call that would shatter my heart. Carol Ann passed on this earlier this morning from the effects of COVID-19 in Whisperwood Nursing Home. • • Through thick and through thin, in sickness and in health, Alvin and Carol Ann have repeatedly showed the world, especially me, the true meaning of Perseverance, Compassion, Faith and True Love. • • Going all the way to the end of the line with that one person you started out with, is one of the most bittersweet and glorious things on this earth. As I have fun posting and selling theses pieces of my stepmom’s, I think back to where my father’s family comes from. My great grandfather was a laborer and my great grandmother worked in a laundry. Not too many years after this picture was taken, my great grandmother will have died and the oldest daughter as well. Hard times for my grandmother, the little one on the left, but she raised a wonderful man who is my father. I have been blessed to have a life full of opportunities. Cearense de Crato, veio para SP aos 20 anos para ganhar a vida, como muitos Nordestinos o fizeram, em busca de uma oportunidade pra ter um pouco mais de qualidade de vida. Homem de pouco estudo mas, com muita sabedoria e garra em lutar pela vida, e principalmente, pela família. Casou-se com Ana Gracita, sua fiel companheira por 62 anos, que já é nossa Anja-Vó-Bisa há 1 ano e 8 meses. Sou o 4° filho dos cinco, que ele como metalúrgico e vendedor ambulante, com muito trabalho, batalha e dificuldades, educou e formou para o bem com muito amor. O que mais marcou nossa infância era o seu zelo e carinho pela família, e principalmente pelos filhos. Sempre quando recebia o salário do mês, ele levava a gente pra comer pastel. Aquilo era sagrado pro Seu Acrísio, e a gente sabia (com sabedoria de criança) como doía para ele quando isso não era possível pela falta de dinheiro. Mas, entendíamos e sabíamos esperar e curtir os irmãos e a família, do jeito que nos era permitido. Acho que aí está o grande legado da nossa formação: não se frustrar pelo que não aconteceu, e nos pormenores, valorizar a vida. Nosso pai trabalhou até seus 78 anos, quando foi acometido de um AIT (Acidente Vascular Temporário), que já dura 11 anos. Hoje evidenciado por forte demência, que lhe tirou a fala e limitou seus movimentos. Só anda com muita dificuldade, com a necessidade de se apoiar em alguém - da cama para o sofá - onde passa o dia, observando tudo ao seu redor. A doença tirou-lhe os movimentos porém, não tirou o seu brilho no olhar quando falamos com ele mesmo a distância. Nós imaginamos que ele entende tudo, ouve tudo, mas só balbucia algumas palavras; fica muito eufórico, quando fazemos chamada de vídeo, e tem um amor gigantesco por crianças e animais (são os que mais lhe roubam um sorriso, e um brilho no olhar). 3 Faço contato quase todos os dias através de vídeo, com minhas irmãs, que cuidam dele como um filho muito amado, e também são anjos em nossa família (abraçaram como propósito de vida cuidar de nossos pais por amor, carinho e zelo)... Hi everyone, I’m doing things a little different today. I won’t be selling #NotPizza for today I will post link for it tomorrow because our need in the community is more important and I hope you can take the time to read this post and help/share if you can. This week has been an extremely hard week for us, a part of our extended family has suddenly passed away. If you have ever been/ate in our restaurant, you most likely have seen Tony in there hanging out with us or helping us fix something. If you knew him or met him in passing, he was what made our neighborhood feel safe and welcoming. Tony was always there to lend a hand whatever it was and to whoever it was. He was the person in the neighborhood we would call if we had problems in the restaurant or if someone’s car had broken down on our block, he would always be the first to come running to help and he never asked for anything in return no matter how much we tried. No words can describe how much he is missed by the neighborhood because there is no one else like Tony. He was truly one of a kind and we were so blessed to have him in our lives. We wanted to take this opportunity to try give back what he & his wife gave to us, and to everyone in this neighborhood all these years. I made a gofundme for his funeral costs so that his wife, Jenny, can have some stress lifted from her as we share in her grief.
