Met pijn in het hart nemen we vandaag afscheid van onze Fiat Multipla. Helaas is de Multipla niet vredig ingeslapen, maar is hij slachtoffer geweest van het wangedrag van een andere auto 😔. Maar laten we niet te hard stilstaan bij dit drama en laten we de mooie momenten appreciëren van onze trouwe vierwieler, overal waar we kwamen toverden hij een lach op de mensen hun gezicht. Hij liet ons heel België en omstreken zien, zelf in het buitenland was hij een succes. Bovendien is hij verschenen in een videoclip én een tv-programma. Voordat we het wisten was de Multipla geliefder dan ons zelf. Рок-фестиваль «#RussianWoodstock МИР ЛЮБОВЬ МУЗЫКА» пройдёт 19-20 сентября на #ВДНХ в Зелёном Театре. В первый день 19 сентября на большой фестивальной сцене Зелёного театра пройдёт масштабный концерт на котором выступят молодые прогрессивные рок-музыканты из России, Америки и Европы. Также в рамках Фестиваля 19 сентября пройдёт финал рок-турнира. Награждать победителей в каждой из номинаций будут члены звездного жюри и действующие чемпионы. В состав звездного жюри входят: Игорь Ларионов, Дмитрий Губерниев, Лариса Долина, Александр Любимов, Леонид Каневский, Никита Пресняков, Алексей Козлов, Дмитрий Дибров, Антон Беляев, Евгений Маргулис, Сергей Галанин. 20 сентября на сцене появятся самые молодые исполнители, которые выступят в рамках детского Фестиваля: юные вокалисты, детские рок-группы, лауреаты международного вокального конкурса «Золотая Нота». Детский рок-фестиваль такого формата и масштаба пройдёт впервые. На протяжении всего Фестиваля будет также работать зона мастер-классов, где своим опытом поделятся именитые преподаватели #SandlerSchool, школы Ларисы Долиной. Первый Фестиваль Russian Woodstock прошёл в 2019-м году в парке развлечений «Золотой Город» под Тулой. Last night I stunned to hear about the passing of Wade Allison. Wade was another pillar of the Texas metal scene as the guitarist for @realironage. I could go on all day naming the bands around today that drew direct inspiration from Iron Age and Wade’s riffs. When they started I was lucky enough to work on their first album Constant Struggle that came out on @youngbloodrecords. I had been helping Sean with layouts and stuff for a minute and he told me id be stoked on the “new far from breaking band”. Sean has never been more right about anything. Still to this day it’s one of my favorite layouts/logos I’ve done. There’s nothing crazy about it, just a simple design nod to the mid/late 80s crossover scene. And my favorite part was when I convinced Sean to do the limited black cover with an embossed and spot varnished logo like the second press of Victim in Pain. Unbeknownst to most, we had an entire 2020 tour booked for August and September. For obvious reasons, we never announced it. The line up was so sick and we were supposed to hit places we haven’t been to in an eternity - Hello Canada! It’s especially poignant today, as we were supposed to fly this afternoon to Idaho (well technically Salt Lake City and then get on a tour bus overnight to Boise - but that’s just semantics!) POWERSTATION 009 IS HERE 🖤 Kris Baha returns to his imprint since ‘Mind Your Head’ in 2016 with 4 mutant industrial cuts ready for a dancefloor of 1. ‘Behave’ begins with a hypnotic sequence guiding the listener through the piece as sonic sirens screech from the cavernous dystopian wastelands of 2020. ‘Starts to Fall’ , which was finished in January before the epidemic is a soundtrack of what was to come. A could be dancefloor anthem now lost to the ‘could of been’s’ of time. Baha’s signature mechanical grooves start the track off with KB’s androgynous autotune vocal singing ‘Starts To Fall’, punching into a metallic punk wave inspired bassline setting the tone before submerging into the anthemic hook, a call to a brighter future. On the B side, ‘Struck’ is the more brighter track of the release. High pitched melodic stab hooks shimmer above the corroded lowlands as 90’s industrial inspired drum grooves inject themselves into the already mutating bass line. Lastly, ‘Isolation’ is a slower BPM EBM cut evidently bleak and cold as forced Isolation and its negative side effects take their toll. The future is... After @nbd_archive posted T-Mag’s Frontside Kickflip on Andy’s ramp in the 80’s and listed it as the first kickflip on vert, Danny Way sent us this photo of his Gullwing ad around the same time. Him and Mag talked over the issue, with both being too humble to claim it either way. So there could be a controversary as to the first kickflip done on vert. In any case, the idea of doing a kick flip revolution vert skateboarding forever and the one thing we know for certain, it was done by an H-Street rider. Also, there could be a third suspect in this plot. If Mag’s came first, then his idea of credit actually goes to his longtime bro and partner in H-Street, Mike Ternasky, who had all sorts of futuristic vision capabilities and saw what the kickflip did for street skating and figured the same would be true for vert and T-Mag was simply the closest test case for this idea. Initiated by the idea of oddities in the reproduction of images by a photocopier, Lawrence Canto opens a new solo exhibition this October titled Inside This Faulty Machine. Designed to mechanically reproduce texts and images in the first place, a photocopying machine’s glitches and irregularities can be located in the imperfections of its copies. Canto proceeds from this cue and creates works that resemble photocopied images marked by striking flaws—from the grainy and blurred imprints, to smears and smudges resulting from excessive ink, to repetitive and overlapping figures. In this attempt to mimic erroneous image reproduction, he once again employs the processes he is adept with as a multimedia artist keen on exploring the integration of traditional and digital media. Deviating from his approach in previous exhibitions in which animated videos lift forms from painted and printed pieces, the compositions this time are conceived initially through animation and then translated later as still images by serigraphy and painting—unifying manual, mechanical, and digital methods of reproduction. Despite the intent to render the pieces in the semblance of poorly photocopied pictures, we clearly get a glimpse of their overarching imagery: human figures superimposed on exterior views of buildings and other structures. Conceptualized and produced amid the current pandemic, this collection of works and its elements resonate well with the experience of quarantine and some of the realities that isolation and restricted mobility have brought to the fore. This show is curated by Ruel Caasi, in collaboration with the Secret Fresh Gallery X The Working Animals Art Projects (TWA). In the summer of 2014, we set out on a European summer festival tour. We now remember it as Hell Month. For this week’s Against Them All episode, George and Josh try to process what actually happened on that tour. We almost fought the entire crowd at a show in the Basque Country, we spent 24 hours in the van to get to a show in Cork, Ireland where we played to 6 people, we drove into Turkey, we saw Bosnia/Croatia/Romania/Bulgaria for the first time - it was a crazy summer filled with unforgettable experiences.
