I worked full time at @official and @allgxxd for seven years. Over those seven years I ran the warehouse (shipping/receiving), did inventory, set up trade show booths, painted signs, learned to operate a forklift, built three All Good stores (two in Sac and one in PDX), built installations for events and pop-ups and was an expert with a tape gun.... I could keep this list going for a long time. It has now been a full year since I left to pursue a career in the arts. It’s been a scary but fun ride trying to hustle work and sell my art, but was one of the best moves I have made in life. Thanks to all the Official family for having my back all those years. WHAT DID WHEN THE CLIENT CHANGED THE NAME HALF WAY THROUGH THE PROJECT. . In all honesty this had never happened to me before and it’s never happened since... but I gave myself a little time to think about my plan of attack. . And the short answer is, Nothing! . A lot of of designers would say... “James you are a twat” and I would probably agree with them in most circumstances... but I took time to asses my decisions and felt that just carrying on with the project and not charging extra was the right thing to do as a human and a businessman. . I weighed up time I had spent and really laid out the expectations to the client of how we would work on the new name from here on in. . I didn’t make a huge amount of profit on this particular part of the project but what I did gain is a new client for life... I dropped my ego and helped my client through a difficult time. . I didn’t think of my short term wins and thought of the long term wins....We now have a strong business relationship and am sure will be working together for many years to come. . Di fronte al teatro Tina Di Lorenzo, in un angolo, forse poco visibile, cè questo bar-tavola calda, semplice ma accogliente. Produzione artigianale e familiare, con gli arancini al ragù più buoni mai mangiati fino ad oggi. Ho deciso di farlo per la scienza, quindi mi sono immolato: ho provato il mitico arancino di Piero, a Noto. Panatura croccante e per niente unta, superba. Ripieno leggermente pepato (così come avevo letto in giro, ma la nota sposa perfettamente il mio gusto e lidea che ho di questo piccolo capolavoro dello streetfood..) un salto temporale alla genuinità della rosticceria e pasticceria siciliana prima dellavvento dei preparati pronti. A proposito, sarò ancora in Sicilia sudorientale per qualche giorno… se avete arancini migliori, sono tutto orecchie! Nondas was featured in a 2003 @chicagotribune article distinguishing his unique vision of building his home with common brick. Nondas spent 3 months to collect enough common brick to build his Lakeview home in 2003 at a time when this was unheard of. Kiffe my wines is a winemaker run company created in 2016 with the original idea of presenting new wines to the UK market coming from young emerging ethically minded producers. We followed them, closely, by visiting them several times a year, worked harvest with them (sometimes) and got to know them on a more personal level. They are now friends more than suppliers. In 2018, we teamed up with Newcomer Wines, an importer specialising in minimal intervention wines from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Northern Italy. Over the past years, we have managed to create a community of exchange between our growers, our clients, and ourselves. We believe in the force of cross pollination to help this community grow and face the new challenges, that the industry is currently experiencing.
