Agradeço a Deus pela força para ele vencer a doença e nos manter firmes na fé , com esperança e confiança no tratamento. Agradeço a todos os profissionais da saúde que ainda cuidam dele e de tantos outros pacientes nos hospitais do mundo. Aos familiares e amigos pelas mensagens de apoio e orações, foram calmantes da angústia na distância do isolamento. Parabéns pai! Ainda tem muito o que ser feito nessa nova vida. “Quem não pode fazer grande coisa, faça ao menos o que estiver na medida de suas forças; certamente não ficará sem recompensa. As poderosas mãos de DEUS sempre estiveram segurando as minhas, pois eu sempre acredito e tenho FÉ. Meu reconhecimento por toda Comunidade de Atendimento Médico e Hospitalar, por esse trabalho gigantesco e de altíssima dedicação, pois, sem eles, com certeza, todo processo já estaria falido. D4R SUPPORTER TO THE RESCUE! 🦸 We had a🚨red alert🚨plea from @battersea the other day who had been asked to help a rescue in Scotland who had been given a little Romanian doggie who was not coping. Battersea said they didn’t have the right environment to help and that he needed our kennel free approach so asked us to step in. . . . We are so busy we didn’t have a second but asked our amazing supporter group if anyone was able to do the long journey (7 hour round trip) to collect the poor little boy called Billy. He’s only 2 years old and urinates / defecates in fear when people go near him. Neil who adopted Trinny & Foxy from Bulgaria selflessly offered to go get him and we are beyond grateful. We can’t wait to watch the little guy settle in here and there’s so many wonderful doggies here who can help him learn there’s no need to fear us. Lovely to be able to help @islaydogrescue who were lovely and only wanted the best for this little man after trying so hard with him for a month to earn his trust. Great to deal with such dedicated people whose concern is what is best for the dogs. Elle était enfin en sécurité et ne manquait pas de nourriture et de caresses. Mais les années sont passées et aucune famille adaptée ne sintéressait à elle. ⏱ Trop peureuse, fuyant les inconnus, elle ne provoquait pas de coup de coeur. Jusquau petit miracle... Elle découvre enfin la vie de famille, la vie tout simplement. ❤️ Une vie quelle mérite, elle qui est si douce et gentille une fois en confiance. Today, on September 30th, we wear an Orange Shirt — situated on this stolen land that is the place of Indigenous genocide. Orange Shirt day recognizes and honours the survivors of the genocide perpetrated by the residential school system and those who lost their lives to the horrific abuse enforced by the government. This important day was started by Phyllis Webstad in 2013 to raise awareness of the residential school system and its profoundly embedded intergenerational effects that continue to impact Indigenous communities. The last residential school to close was The Gordon Residential School in Punnichy, Saskatchewan, in 1996. The effects of residential schools are deeply ingrained within our colonial society and this genocide will continue for as long as our institutions and communities remain ignorant. Far too often, this day is subject to performance activism, never to be spoken of again until a year later. Wearing an Orange Shirt on this day signifies a lifelong commitment towards eradicating the ongoing genocidal effects of residential schools while advancing the interests of Indigenous communities. Taking action extends to every single day of the year. We encourage everyone to reflect not only on this day but to continue centering decolonization and ensuring that action follows acknowledgement. Our institutions and organizations are products of colonialism, and we must hold ourselves, our organization, and the university accountable for decolonizing oppressive structures and dismantling inequitable practices. We must always centre decolonization in every aspect of our decision making and continuously take action on an individual, local, and national level. Words are meaningless without action. Recolectar y lavar la ropa sucia de las camas y batas de pacientes, así como la ropa de doctores que los atienden es un trabajo sumamente importante, riesgoso y necesario. Tres veces al día van a recolectar la ropa sucia en unos carritos especiales, la meten en tres enormes máquinas que aguantan cientos de kilos de ropa, agregan detergentes que desinfectan al máximo y luego la sacan, la meten a secadoras para posteriormente doblarla y almacenarla. Hello kind hoomans! Tweety here, and boy do I have a story for you. Firstly, I’m a 2.5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Lab mixed pooch from the streets of Mexico. I’m a big, handsome boy; I’m 35 kg and stand about 45cm tall. Here’s my story: I was living on the streets as a stray pup when I was run over by a car. I was hurt badly and laid on the side of the road for 6 days before someone found me. Finally, someone scooped me up and took me to the dog pound, where I would have been euthanized had my amazing rescuer not stepped in. My angel of a rescuer took me to the vet and paid for the surgery to fix my injuries! The vet says that I have a good chance at a normal doggy life if I receive the proper care while I recover. I currently have some “wheels” that help me get around while my hind legs heal. The vet is optimistic that I will be able to walk again, however there are no guarantees. I may need some physiotherapy when I get to my forever home; maybe that would increase my chances of walking again! If not though, I’m still a happy boy to use my wheels. Unfortunately, my rescuer can no longer provide for me. Due to a lack of funds, my rescuer cannot afford my treatment. I am currently living in a dog shelter, however that is no place for a pup to recover from big surgery! I’m such a good boy and I so deserve a second chance at life; I just hope somebody decides to adopt me soon! I take a few medications every day to help with my recovery (Gabapentin, Vitamin B12). I will need to be on these medications for 6 to 9 months. After that, I should be good to go! I will need my adopter to be patient as I regain my strength. I’m sure with time, patience, yummy treats, and LOTS of love, I will regain my quality of life and will be such a happy boy! Now, about my awesome personality! I like walks (even with my wheels!) and LOVE to be loved. I am noble and trainable; however I do have some territorial issues with other dogs sometimes. I’m not a fan of kitty cats and prefer female dogs over male dogs. I would flourish in a single-dog home – what can I say, I just want all the attention! This little baby turned 16 yesterday and got her drivers permit😭😭😭😭 There is actually no way I can explain how much love I have for this beautiful human ! People always say when you become a parent you realize what real pure transcendent love is, but I feel like I’ve already experienced that with my littlest sister. Shivani/Shivy/Shimberly/Shimmer+Shine/Shim is my rockkk, my inspiration, she is my heart outside my body and the center+glue of our family in every way. (She’s also the sanest one and keeps each of us from spiraling out on a weekly basis lol) She is the most resilient person I know, she is smart and endlessly witty (even when she was just a baby), she is creative and talented at too many things- anything she tries she conquers, and she is a true leader. Her smile and her bright aura always draw people to her, she can melt even the coldest hearts just by being her. This top video is from the day me and Ishana met Shiv, she was 3 and only spoke Hindi, but we bonded from the first second anyway. As we consider how to respond to all of your very good and important questions concerning the current COVID-19 environment, we wanted to take a moment to recap the prevalence of COVID-19 in our area. 🦠 ⁣ ⁣ Keep in mind, the last time we reported these statistics was roughly one month ago (on June 26th). So not only is it important to understand where the current cases stand, it is also important to recognize the upward trend in all statistics over the past month.📈⁣ ⁣ First off, a key indicator for evaluating the trend in COVID-19 is to consider the percentage of positive tests, the goal of which according to the World Health Organization should be to maintain a rate of 5% or less of tests coming back positive in our community. As of yesterday in Johnson County, the overall average of positive tests was 6.2%, but the actual recent daily average is upwards of 9%. The last time we reported these rates, the average positive test rate was 4.1%. Clearly, the rate of positive tests in our area is on the rise and very concerning.😩⁣ ⁣ The good news is that in kids specifically, the rate of positive cases is much less than the overall rate in our area. @childrensmercy reported as of yesterday, that they have tested over 7,600 children with 220 confirmed positive cases in children under the age of 20 years old - a 2.8% positivity rate. ⁣ ⁣ But, cases in kids are still very much on the rise in our area, led primarily by a significant increase in teenage cases. 😳 One month ago, there were 72 reported cases in children aged 10-19 in Johnson County. As of yesterday, that age group had 508 positive cases. Overall, cases in children represent 14.4% of total COVID cases in the Johnson County area, so children are still a smaller portion of the total population infected with COVID-19.⁣ ⁣ And lastly, very few COVID-19 cases in children in our area have required hospitalization. 🏥 Currently, Children’s Mercy is reporting two inpatient cases, and in the overall Johnson County area, there have been only 3 cases in children reported as having required inpatient care. ⁣ ⁣ #covid19 #statistics #pedcarespecialists #pediatrics #pediatrician #kcdoctors #kidshealth - @pediatric_care_specialists on Instagram

Fidel aún no concluye la universidad, sin embargo da clases gratis a alumnos de primaria y secundaria que no cuentan con internet, computadora o una televisión para seguir con sus estudios a distancia. Al aula improvisada acuden cuatro estudiantes de tercero de primaria, tres que cursan el cuarto año, dos niñas de sexto y dos más de segundo y tercero de secundaria. Con tan solo 20 años Fidel nos demuestra a todos que la solidaridad y ganas de ayudar no tienen precio pero valen muchísimo. This week we want to show you WHY we rescue. WHY we raise the money that we do to save these dogs. These are real DMT dogs that were rescued by the most amazing and courageous organizations, who rehabilitated these dogs and gave them a second chance at life and love. Meet Benjamin aka Benji @catdogz6. This poor guy was so badly beaten and tortured in ways we could even imagine. He saw his friends being bludgeoned to death and blowtorched in front of his eyes. Luckily he was saved by @animalhopeandwellness. After almost a year of rehab he was able to be adopted out. Benji suffers from very bad PTSD but has found his new home filled with so much love with new brothers and sisters. Thank you for not giving up and being a hero. Six months ago time stood still… we handed Molly over for #ohs…we paced… we watched the clock tic second-by-second… we finished a 500 piece puzzle in matter of hours… we read so many great notes from so many family and friends… we prayed for our Surgical Team. The hospital over the holidays is hard yet so uplifting as people are so incredibly generous that you can forget where you are at. Molly’s scar has started to heal and fade and her overall physical and mental growth has been incredible. She has been working so hard in PT. that today we are so excited to share she is up and crusin’ with her walker. George loves to help her with her new accessory, while loudly cheering for her. We remain hopeful and positive that this will be a temporary accessory for her until she just get enough strength in her legs and core to carry her more than a few steps. Tonight when we brought her to bed it was around the same time she first woke up from OHS, however tonight she was full of love, hugs and kisses and not the look of panic and fear as every alarm went off. Over the weekend we encountered so many beautiful dragonflies. A friend of mine once said “they are a symbol and honor of the loved ones who have left this life.” We felt peace. Today I heard a quote while on a #allymisslove #onepeloton ride “Hope has two beautiful daughters. Their names are Anger and Courage; Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain the way they are.” – St. Augustine This quote was so fitting while reflecting on this broader journey. He had to have a toe amputated and fought a severe infection, but has received medication 💊 and is now pain free. Niño is a strong dog and has gained five pounds in just a month! This young fighter is Gabby. When Gabby was three, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. Gabby is now 5, and still bravely fighting. At diagnosis, a large 3.4 pound tumor was found on her adrenal gland. Surgery was performed to resect the tumor and was successful after almost 13 hours. Because the cancer was stage 1, Gabby was not treated with any further chemo or radiation. For an entire year following her surgery, Gabby had clear scans and remained NED. However, at the end of 2018, more comprehensive scans and bone marrow aspirations were ordered, as her labs started to come back abnormal. On September 24, 2018, Gabby received the news that her cancer was back, and it was stage four. A 3 pound tumor was found atop of her adrenal glands in the same place as before. She started chemo on October 1st, 2018, exactly one year since her initial diagnosis. As of now, Gabby has undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy and has taken part in an MIBG therapy clinical trial. Gabby continues to remain strong, showing everyday how courageous and brave she is. No matter how difficult her battle may be, she remains happy and never stops smiling. According to her family, she is one of the happiest, funniest fighters in the world. Her childhood was ripped away from her, but she still smiles. Gabby recently started antibody therapy, which is notoriously taxing, and is in need of support. Not only are the direct effects of COVID-19 compromising childrens lives, but secondary effects are increasing -- 1.3B students face school closures in 177 countries; 40% of the worlds population is not able to wash their hands with soap and water; 370M children who normally rely on school meals must now look for alternative sources; over 117M children may not have access to the measles vaccination. - About 2yr ago on a 3 month business trip in Italy I managed to get an extremely scared and shy stray dog to become people friendly. Took me 3 weeks to gain his trust but after many, many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches he was my bud for the next 9 weeks. Sad to leave him behind.

Debido a las medidas de aislamiento, cerraron la tienda en La #HabanaVieja y enviaron a casa a los trabajadores del taller. Ante la #COVID_19 el sector privado también detuvo sus actividades. Yuyú juega con su hija pequeña. Intenta pasar más tiempo con ella, ven películas, se divierten juntas. En sus redes y en las del emprendimiento comparte consejos para la confección de juegos de mesa. El silencio no es muy común en la casa-taller. En tiempos normales realizan talleres sobre #reciclaje y cuidado del #MedioAmbiente para niños y adolescentes; reciben visitas, clientes; hacen eventos. Para cubrir los vacíos provocados por la COVID-19, Yuyú y miembros cercanos de su equipo han llevado #mascarillas de tela —confeccionadas por las costureras y diseñadoras de @DadorHavana, otro emprendimiento— a un hogar materno infantil de su municipio. También se sumaron a la recogida de envases de plástico para la confección de #máscaras, algunas de las cuales han sido entregadas gratuitamente a personal de salud. «Cuando cerramos la tienda, a las dependientes les pagamos 21 días, con el salario mínimo (aproximadamente 35 USD). Rescatan un pequeño Gato Montés tras caer en una trampa metálica Ocurrió en Aluminé donde los guardafaunas neuquinos lograron recuperarlo de su estado crítico de salud. Recuerdan que los carnívoros silvestres nos ofrecen servicios ecológicos al controlar las poblaciones de roedores, conejos y liebres.   Aluminé es noticia nuevamente por el rescate de un joven gato montés (Leopardus geoffroyi) que quedó atrapado en trampas metálicas. Una vez más la comunidad demuestra la gran red de personas que piensan la atención y contención de la fauna silvestre. En estos contextos se renueva una pregunta muy recurrente por estos lares ¿Somos capaces como seres humanos de compartir el territorio con otras especies? El animal fue víctima de dos cepos que le produjeron graves heridas al prenderse uno en cada pata trasera. Esto sumado al cuadro de hipotermia generado por las bajas temperaturas y las horas que permaneció inmóvil en la nieve, le generó un estado crítico de salud. El pasado jueves 9 de julio, una vecina del paraje de Abra Ancha avisó al equipo de Guardafaunas que había encontrado un Gato Montés atrapado en dos trampas que ella había ubicado para capturar a un ejemplar de Visón Americano, mamífero exótico que también visita gallineros. Sin embargo el hallazgo fue otro, el felino correspondía a un macho joven muy delgado que debe haberse visto forzado a acercarse a asentamientos humanos para buscar comida. Según comentó la vecina, el mismo Gato Montés ya le había atrapado gallinas antes. Ante el aviso se hizo presente Martín Salazar, de la Dirección Provincial de Fauna, la veterinaria de la Reserva Natural Urbana Quilquelil, Carolina Marull, que cuenta con una vasta experiencia en manejo de fauna silvestre y el Director del Museo municipal El Charrúa, Titi Ricciuto, siempre disponible para estos desafíos Se encontró al Gato Montés con graves heridas en sus dos patas traseras y en estado de hipotermia. Fue sedado y medicado en el mismo gallinero usando instrumental y medicamentos provistos por la veterinaria Gilda Vallejos. Patrick precisa de ajuda - URGENTE! 🚨 📍São Paulo, SP. Alguém se lembra desse mocinho que já foi publicado algumas vezes para adoção há meses atrás? #PatrickIAPA sempre foi cheio de energia e muito amor para dar, várias pessoas se interessavam por ele, mas, o receio sempre era sua energia! De repente, tudo mudou! Patrick vivia solto em um lar temporário em Cotia, junto com seus amigos peludos, até que, ele apareceu com uma das patas inchadas (aparentemente picada de algum bichinho), foi tratado para melhorar a inflamação, mas, com o passar dos dias, ele começou a perder peso. Foram feitos vários exames, o reviramos de ponta cabeça e estava tudo bem, não encontrávamos nada que justificasse a perda de peso. Sua situação foi piorando e ele teve que ser internado, fazer transfusão de sangue, mudar toda sua alimentação e, MESMO ASSIM, todos seus exames davam negativo. Patrick esta internado há mais de 30 dias, o único fato que mudou em seu quadro foi a confirmação de diabetes. Foi colocado um free style (um dispositivo na pele para regular a dose da insulina), mas, a diabetes não é a “vilã” da história. Aparentemente, é apenas uma “consequência” de alguma outra doença que ainda não conseguimos descobrir. 😔 A maior suspeita do Endócrino é Leish, porém, seu exame deu negativo. Hoje ele foi ao Hematologista e a possibilidade de uma doença autoimune é grande. Vamos iniciar um novo caminho de exames bem específicos e com alto custo. O que nos move em seu caso é a VONTADE DE VIVER que ele tem. A GENEROSIDADE que mesmo nos dias que não consegue parar em pé, demonstra seu amor por nossa equipe. O peludo que tinha muita energia, hoje, tem muita vontade de viver... 🙏 Patrick precisa de você, não temos condições de arcar com todo o custo de seu tratamento que já está altíssimo. 😢 Precisamos que cada um ajude com o que puder, Patrick não é o nosso único caso sério em internação e, a cada dia, está mais desesperador a manutenção destas vidas. 💙 Ethan chegou!! 💙 Ter um menino sempre foi um sonho nosso. Não que o gênero da criança importasse mais que outra coisa, mas queríamos vivenciar o mundo azul. Nossa casa é rosa, as cadeirinhas de casa são rosas, as bonecas vivem espalhadas pela casa e mais que isso, o feminino vem com aquele lado amoroso e acolhedor, é como se já nascecem mãe, não só no cuidado das suas bonequinhas, mas também nos relacionamentos. Vivenciar essa mudança nestes últimos meses foi quase uma ruptura. É como se portas fossem abertas pra uma nova realidade. Engraçado que me peguei falando “princeso” ou invés de “príncipe”. E pior, agora que aprendi que não é “calção” que as meninas usam e sim “shorts”, vou ter que reaprender a usar a palavra “calção”. Também é um momento misto de alegria e responsabilidade. Especialmente pelos desafios que vem com um novo bebê em casa e uma nova vida que está sob nossos cuidados. Mas a sensação de pegar ele no colo e observar seu olhar reconhecendo de onde vem a voz que ele já conhecia é indescritível. Só passando por isso para saber. E sem palavras para descrever esta mulher @nanaspires que Deus me presenteou. Com ela eu teria mais de 100 filhos, viajaria o mundo inteiro, a pé, só eu e ela!! Uma mãe, esposa, amiga e minha companheira dos desafios e das vitórias. Não consigo nem compreender como ela consegue fazer tudo o que faz, mas o fato é que faz! As meninas ansiavam este encontro com o Mano. Já prepararam histórias e dividiram as tarefas para ajudar porque querem participar deste momento.
