𝗙𝗢𝗫 𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗫 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗦 - 𝗥𝟮𝗗𝟮 SWIPE FOR EXTENDED EDIT AND COOL BTS JUNK In October of 2015, a group of us went out to Ocotillo to shoot the first of 2 @starwars collabs for @foxracing. This was suppose to coincide with the release of “The Force Awakens” and the inspo was the opening shot from the trailer that released a couple months prior. Some fun facts: Lucas Arts/ @disney required a storyboard before our shoot to approve the marketing for the helmet. We had binary star/downed star destroyer in the background of the opening shot. Let’s just say they weren’t too keen on either option since “motorcycles don’t exist in the Star Wars Universe”. (But neither did moto helmets) So we had to take those ideas off the list and we were left with what’s seen here. The first video is to show a comparison on how closely we shot our opening to the opening of the official trailer. The music was a huge issue since we wanted that iconic tone brought through the entire piece. Everything would just have fallen flat seeing those visuals without the music. So I spent weeks negotiating with Disney on this John Williams track and we were able to license it; both side for 5k with a 2 week duration. The initial quote was 125k for a year, which we obviously didn’t have since the total budget for the project was 10k. During the final week of post, my son Greyson was born. I remember uploading the final video at 5:21am after not sleeping for 2 days. Today is the four year anniversary of the accident which transformed my life, a day I have begun to call my leg-o-versary. Change can be a challenge, but also empowering. In four years I am grateful to have been able to travel to the ends of the earth, surf monster waves in Hawaii’s north shore, ride horses through the deserts of Jordan, climb to the highest altitudes i have ever been to, dive through underwater worlds in the Yucatán, hack my way through the jungles of Colombia and Guatemala, and play soccer with my kids in the park. . . None of this was done alone... so many people to thank for believing in and being part of the journey. Thank you Family, friends, and each of you in the world have been the ‘spirit legs’ to fly with! Thank you to @phprosthetics, @cafoundation, @fillauer, and @ossur who have literally given me legs to move through the world with. I am deeply proud and thankful for all my friends at @natgeo and @disneyplus, and the film crews who believed with me that there were no limitations, that being an explorer is all about mindset, and showing that to millions around the globe on their various world empowering platforms;). Most of all I am eternally grateful for my kids who have been 1000000% in this with me, with smiles and love all the way. . I have Nothing but #gratitude, and hoping to show the same love in passing it forward. In that spirit, I am Proud of the work of the students (especially @chefmusicianengineer) with @projectlimbitless who have been working to develop low cost cell phone based 3D printed prosthetics at @ucsandiegoengineering and the @qualcomminstitute. Incredibly excited for the soon to be launched @right2walk foundation which will aim to get high end prosthetics to those who can’t afford them. Very grateful for the team of collaborators who have spent two years laying the groundwork for the first clinical trial on phantom pain and psilocybin @ucsdschoolofmedicine. . Sometimes our greatest challenges become our greatest accomplishments. In the Amerindian oral tradition exists a myth of a two-million-year-old woman—known today by various names including the Sky Woman, the Emerald Woman, and the Spider Woman—who fell from the empyrean and landed in the earth’s ocean. The woman gave birth to sons, and after she died, one planted the first corn in her memory. Iterations of this story have been handed down through generations, aging back as far as the early eighteenth century. Karen Miranda Rivadeneira’s (@karenmirandarivadeneira) documents such Indigenous spoken-word traditions, exploring the ways both language preserves memory and the earth is inscribed with the past. Her series MEDA shows the Sky Woman in a range of acts that reclaim the earth and fight against erasure. “One of the words that inspired MEDA is a word passed down to me by one of my elders in the Andean mountains,” Rivadeneira says. “This is iyarina, a Kichwa word that mean ‘to remember by reflecting and contemplating the land.’” . - Gebel Impact Crater in the East Uweinat Desert, Egypt is a 44.8 m wide and 15.8 m deep (original depth) crater and is est. to be less than 5000 yo. It was blasted out by a 1.3 m (thats 51 inch!) iron meteorite which generated a fireball and plume that would have been visible over 1000 km away.

Founded in 1881, Calico grew quickly after the discovery of various deposits of silver, borax and gold. Over the years, it has come to have up to 1200 citizens, 500 mines and 22 saloons. The town was soon abandoned and left to gradually decay, to became a ghost town in 1907. . ANTIGUA ALDEA DE TULOR La aldea de Tulor, ubicada por San Pedro de Atacama🏜️, evidencia lo que ya hemos mencionamos para otras aldeas ya publicadas (las subiré a las historias igual😁): como las sociedades luego de miles y miles de años habitando un espacio se van adueñado de éste, conociendo sus recursos naturales a tal punto de modificarlos geneticamente : un proceso histórico que conllevará a la domesticación de animales🦙 y planta🌱. Es así que de la mano con la intensificación de la agricultura y pastoreo fuimos teniendo formas de vida más sedentarias que guardan relación con las primeras aldeas y con el excedentes de diversos recursos para su almacenamiento🌽🌶️🥜🥒🥔. Estos excedentes fueron claves en la aparición de las primeras jerarquías sociales y también en las dinámicas de intercambio que se fueron creando con otras poblaciones, algunas muy alejadas. Desde la arqueología sabemos por ej que en las Aldeas de San Pedro llegaron productos desde muy lejos, de la costa 🐟 y de la actual Bolivia y Argentina. Esto respondiendo a una de las bases de la cosmovisión Andina, vigente hasta hoy en dia: la reciprocidad, donde el intercambio de cosas (comida, cerámica, metales, tejidos y diversos adornos) desde distintos pisos ecológicos forma parte de esa lógica y ha sido fundamental para la subsistencia de las comunidades Andinas. Un rol clave para concretar estos intercambios fue gracias a las caravanas de llamas 🦙que cargaban los distintos productos dentro de estas dinámicas de tráfico de cosas para intercambiar 🌽🥒🌶️🥜🥔⚱️. San Pedro, al ser un oasis en el desierto 🏜️ fue un lugar estratégico de convergencia de muchas rutas caravaneras. La Aldea de Tulor, construida en barro y con un patrón de recintos circulares (otra lógica de vivienda respecto a hoy en día), fue creada y utilizada desde hace 2500 años atras y hasta hace unos 1500 de antigüedad. En la actualidad está cubierta por dunas. Una de las máximas expresiones de forma de vida sedentaria son las ciudades🌇, y pensar que todo partió con la aparición de las primeras aldeas cómo Tulor y otras hace más de 2000 años atrás. Greetings from Benton Hot Springs! We want to reaffirm our dedication to providing a safe and clean place for you and our staff during this current situation with the coronavirus. It has been and still is our top priority. While our remote facilities, generally provide ample space and limited public interaction, we our stepping up our cleaning efforts in the midst of this situation. Currently there is little evidence that indicates the coronavirus can survive in outside elements. Nevertheless, we continue to clean each tub after every use with a strong bleach solution. We will disinfect all portable toilets daily. We have just completed deep cleaning in all the rooms, houses and common areas. Additionally we are disinfecting all surfaces and linens after each use and common areas continually. We hope these further cleaning processes with ease concerns. This situation is fluid and we will reassess our procedures and operations as conditions warrant. We understand everyone is in a different place when it comes to this situation. However, we would like to reiterate that the director of the CDC stated that the risk is low and encouraged people to go about their life with a common sense approach.
