“Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you haven’t noticed yet, my “other” favorite thing to talk about (when I’m not all jokes) is growth. Times like these make those thoughts even more prevalent. Even still, that quote caught me off guard for my own journey. For a loooong time, I was under the impression that the key to your own happiness was by ✌🏾finding yourself✌🏾. That once you figured out who you were as a person, life would just hit differently. It took a few simple words like this and a lot of L’s for me to realize that I was wasting my time. How can I expect to find something but don’t understand what I’m actually looking for? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What were you looking for before March 2020? Love? Happiness? Comfort? Inspiration? Adventure? Why did you feel like you had to find it elsewhere instead of creating it? The world needs the version of you that you want to create, not the pieces you borrow from others. Now help me by asking yourself this question - “do I feel trauma or the burning, uncomfortable, uncontrollable sensation every time I see a cop tailing me, when I’m pulled over for no reason, or when they’re just sitting in the cut watching me go by” can you feel that? One of my favourite images from @businessethics . The aspect ratio is wider (2.40:1) in the film so you see a little more to the left and right and less above Cranstons head in the movie compared with Insta. @larenztate does such a stellar job with the role of Zachery Cranston in general, but I think that these quieter moments of reflection are some of my favourite parts of his performance. Outstanding costume design by Muska Zurmati and production design by @ciaravernon too. They nailed so many aspects of this film. @michaelsonofpaul and I spent a fair bit of time with production working out the logistics of how to shoot in this direction with a public street in the background. It was an essential part of giving the images depth and, given that this location is a recurring one, an important part of keeping it interesting. - @nickwernham on Instagram
