And one of the most common questions we get from people who work in crisis intervention and the general public, is why our answer is generally no. We will only call authorities in three circumstances: if a caller asks us to, if there is a credible threat to a third party, or to comply with laws regarding suspected child abuse and neglect. Slide 3: “How can you save lives if you can’t intervene?” Active rescue, or the practice of a crisis hotline choosing to dispatch law enforcement or emergency services to a caller’s location, is a very common occurrence on U.S. suicide hotlines. Operators are often trained on the theory that any caller who mentions suicidal ideation is at risk and requires immediate intervention. While at first glance an understandable blanket policy, non-consensual active rescue entails a number of risks that are made significantly more severe when a caller is trans. Slide 4: Over and over again, we hear from our community that one of the main deciding factors in whether they reach out for help or not is whether or not they will have to deal with active rescue. HEALTHY LIVING MONEY SAVING TIPS Being healthy in college can be something that seems unattainable if you are on a budget/budget conscious like I am, but these are some tips I have used during my time in college that have saved me a good amount of money! 1. Buy frozen produce at grocery store - it lasts way longer than fresh produce and you don’t lose much nutritional value buying frozen, so it’s worth it to me since it doesn’t go bad as quick! 2. Eat in. Eat in. Eat in. I know it’s tempting to want to go out frequently or Uber eats, but cooking (or using my meal plan when I had one) at home and eating in 95% of my meals has saved me so much money. This includes making your coffee at home!! I started making my iced coffee at home when I moved into my apartment and I haven’t looked back 3. Limit frequency of boutique fitness classes. I love a good class just as much as the next person, but I try to only go 1-2 times a week to make my passes last longer! I workout on my own the other days (right now at home but pre COVID I would use my school gym) and it definitely makes a difference 4. Only buy something when you need it/when it’s on sale! While I do occasionally treat myself to a cute workout set or pair of shoes, most of the time I shop I buy on sale/second hand. I have found such good deals for brands like Lululemon, Spiritual Gangster, P.E Nation, and Ultracor on @poshmark 5. Walk where you can! Obviously there are times you can’t avoid taking an Uber (if you don’t have a car like me) but if you can walk somewhere, do it! It’ll save you a few bucks and walking is fantastic exercise Let me know if you guys like these tips and maybe I can start doing a money saving series, since if there is one thing your girl loves, it’s a good deal! - @cyclingandcroissants on Instagram

Bitcoin’s average transaction fees drop by 83% from post-halving high. The average cost of a single Bitcoin transaction has plummeted from high levels that followed the Bitcoin halving. According to the data, on May 20, the average cost of a Bitcoin transaction was $6.647, which was the highest average fee in almost two years. Since May 20, the average Bitcoin transaction fee has fallen to $1.083, showing an 83.7% drop.
