Model, Actress, Animator, & Special Effects Artist Milicent Patrick played a huge role in designing the iconic Gill-man costume for ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ (1954.) She was never credited for her work. During the promotion for the film, Milicent Patrick was sent out on a press tour called : The Beauty Who Created the Beast, to discuss the creation of the creature. This title was quickly changed by Bud Westmore (the head of the universal make-up department at the time) to The Beauty Who Lives With the Beast.” He did this on purpose to avoid citing Patrick as one of the actual creators of the Gill-man design. When she returned to LA from the tour, she was told that she no longer worked for Universal Studios. La Quinta del Sordo y las Pinturas Negras de Goya. Una de las casas donde vivió el pintor de Fuendetodos, Zaragoza, ha pasado a la posteridad porque Goya representó en su interior sus famosas Pinturas Negras, consideradas por algunos críticos la Capilla Sixtina de la pintura moderna. Se trata de un conjunto de 14 pinturas al óleo elaboradas directamente sobre las paredes de dos salas de la quinta, el comedor en la planta baja y el gabinete en el primer piso. Dichas pinturas se conservaron en esta vivienda hasta que el barón Fréderic Émile d’Erlanger, que compró la propiedad en 1873, decidió despegarlas del muro y trasladarlas a lienzo. Las Pinturas Negras fueron expuestas con escaso reconocimiento en la Exposición Universal de París de 1878 antes de ser legadas definitivamente al Prado en 1881. Allí se encontraban obras como el Aquelarre, también conocida como El gran cabrón, en la que el pintor representa, en primer término, a un oscuro macho cabrío, con un asistente a la derecha y rodeado de brujos y brujas de todas las edades, que se agitan y miran con ansiedad. También estaba Saturno devorando a su hijo, la célebre pintura que representa al titán Cronos o Saturno devorando a uno de los hijos habidos con su esposa Rea. Goya las pintó en la más estricta privacidad, para sí mismo y como reflejo de sus sentimientos más íntimos, mostrando una visión pesimista y fantasmagórica de España, que a esas alturas de su vida se le antojaba una pesadilla. As young kids, we helped to sell the dog bones and wash the tickets. After all that hard work, nonna would buy us a slice of pizza! Yum! With good old Chief Woodenhead from CREEPSHOW 2. The head was sculpted by Ed French @ed.emerson.french and the body, base, hatchet and headdress by Mike Trcic. - As requested the really old gnarly high carbon sabatiers. The blades are made from high carbon steel which patinas over time unlike stainless steel. I prefer high carbon due to better edge retention. These are the best knives Ive ever used. Please forgive the handles, those do need work.

La truffe se trouve à une profondeur de 0 à 20 centimètres dans la terre. Il est donc difficile pour l’Homme de la trouver seul. L’aide d’un animal est alors indispensable. Historiquement, on utilisait le cochon. Le cochon laboure naturellement la terre pour se nourrir de larve, de racines et aussi de truffes. Il est tenu en laisse afin que le trufficulteur puisse rapidement récupérer la truffe avant que le cochon ne la mange. Aujourd’hui, le chien est le compagnon idéal pour trouver la truffe. Il est moins encombrant, plus pratique à manier, il a une durée de vie plus importante que le cochon et surtout il ne mange pas la truffe quand il la trouve. Le chien est éduqué à chercher la truffe. Ce qui lintéresse, c’est la récompense. Il est lâché en liberté et sa mission sera alors de marquer de la patte l’endroit ou se trouverait la truffe. Le trufficulteur déterre alors la truffe (souvent avec un “cavadou”, nom donner à l’instrument pour déterrer), et offre une friandise au chien pour le récompenser. Il n’y a pas de race spécial, l’important est qu’il soit bien entraîné. La mouche à truffe est un insecte qui ressemble plutôt à un gros moustique et qui pond ses oeufs au dessus de la truffe afin que ses larves s’en nourrissent. C’est pour cela qu’on peut constater des larves dans les truffes parfois. Pour repérer cette mouche, on fouille à l’aide d’un bâton, la mouche s’envole et reste à la verticale de ses oeufs.
