THE PILL AS A TREMOLO 2 ...or actually an envelope follower! With a “normal” trigger gain setting (3rd knob), one bass note fed into the trigger input of The Pill produces one trigger. When trigger gain is set “too” low, The Pill is fast enough to detect the low frequency waves of a low bass note. A visitor from Kreuzberg popped in to see us for a quick health check. I cannot believe it is 3.5 years since it was installed @mutingthenoise If youre observant, you might notice that (unlike Sams FP mixer), the layout hierarchy is vertical rather than horizontal. This was at Dixons personal request. The circuitry is 100% the same, with all filtering / equalisation based around custom-wound inductors, and all electronics 100% single-ended (non-complementary) Class A / discrete. There will be some more internal shots to follow. Note the 300W power supply, with its custom-wound, uber-silent transformer. _____________________________________________ Wir hatten Besuch aus Kreuzberg für einen kurzen Check-up. Been working on recreating some serum patches on the modular. The first one is one of my favorites “ such relaxation” hard to beat but I got close with the expressive detuning patch and just manually wiggling in the pitch LFOs. The second one was an attempt to get close to one of the “monster- growling-bass” type patches. To get close to the wavetable scanning effect I used some sequenced modulation of the wave shape on the @verboselectronics complex oscillator. Also used some fm from the modulation osc. the fm amount was also sequenced on the multistage. Still not quite there. Probably best to leave this task for the computer, although it’s definitely fun and challenging to try. #analogsynth #modularsynth - @alexepton on Instagram
