Uma roupa feita por um alfaiate ou por uma costureira especificamente para você é mais cara e única, assim como ser mais você é a melhor forma de contribuir com o mundo, é a sua forma única e irrepetível que o mundo precisa. Sem o que você tem a oferecer, o mundo fica com uma falta. E dar forma à você, é dar contorno também aos seus defeitos para que tornem mais visíveis e passíveis de lidar. I’ll be honest with you. I’m starting to feel tired of waiting. My due date has come and gone and I’m now 10 days overdue. I’ve had a moment or two where I almost accepted the fact that I’ll never go into labor and stay pregnant forever. Although I know that most babies aren’t born on their due dates (only 5% are) it’s still hard to deal with the waiting and uncertainty. And believe me, I’ve tried it all. The pineapple and dates, the squats and stairs, the relaxation and positive thinking. Seems like this baby has a mind of his own. Although I hoped for a spontaneous start of labor, I’m comforted by the thought of meeting my little big boy so very soon (he’s estimated to weigh 4,7 kg 😳). We’re starting the induction process tomorrow. Today is the last day before life changes forever! I can’t wait! In the meantime I’d love to get your best advice for labor. Positive stories of birthing big babies are also highly appreciated at this point 😅 or maybe tips on how to deal with this waiting period? 🤍 - @dr.carinasaunders on Instagram

𝓢𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓭 𝓼𝓱𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓼𝓸 𝓼𝓱𝓮 𝓭𝓲𝓭 Its been a while since I did comparison pictures so sometimes its good to remind yourself of where you have come from. In October 2013 I joined a well known slimming organisation being severely overweight and with what I now recognise as a binge eating disorder. I started losing weight and found a focus I hadnt had before. All was going well and I lost a great deal of the excess weight. It got to November 2014 and my birthday week and I put 7lbs on. At the time I had personal stuff going on and felt like losing weight had become the only good thing in my life. I was determined to put it right. Id been on holiday from work and when I went back I was bought a birthday cake to celebrate. I felt obliged to eat it. I felt extreme guilt for eating it and for the first time since my teens I purged. The following week at my slimming club I lost 10lbs. This sparked a cycle of binge purge behaviour and over time I started restricting calories and I was eating around 500 calories a day weekdays, with bingeing and purging on a weekend. This continued until my boyfriend took me to a gym and introduced me to weightlifting. I remember him saying to me we need to focus on you being strong not skinny and those words will always stick in my head. For the first time I had a new focus and actually had to start to eat to fuel my training sessions. I believe this was the start of my recovery. I was doing pretty well until lockdown hit. I started doing obsessive amounts of cardio and not eating enough to sustain it. At this point I was introduced to @fuelledbymacros who started to gradually up my calories and challenge some of the thoughts about food. Ive reduced my cardio and I am focusing on lifting again and fuelling appropriately which has had a massive impact on my mental health and mood. Ive come to realise that I will always be in recovery. But I am pleased to have come so far with the support of my boyfriend, my friends, my family and my nutrition coach. - @dogmamtolexi on Instagram

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I can’t believe I entered by 30th year as a mom-to-be and being an expecting mom I’ve had time to reflect on how I was raised and what kind of mom I want to be. I don’t think any new parent really knows what they’re doing and I really appreciate that my mom didn’t do anything “by the book”. Our creativity was encouraged, we got to try anything we wanted to do- even through her chemo treatments in my High School years Sean and I were able to continue our extra curricular activities and she was always there to support us whether us was cheerleading at a football game or a musical theater performance, she was the bonus mom for all of the kids in the neighborhood- and did it all while being a bad ass travel agent/manager! 🤔 WHAT WILL YOU WEAR DURING LABOUR (if anything 😉) I really didn’t plan this! It was freezing at the hospital so I popped on a hospital gown without thinking. At this point I was having surges every 2 minutes. The socks really do it for me though 😂 👌🏻. During my classes, I suggest people pack something to wear at the hospital. Lots of women people prefer to wear their birthday suit but I guess you don’t really know how you will feel until you’re in the moment. The reason I don’t recommend wearing a hospital gown is because you subconsciously go into “patient mode”. And I’m not sure if anyone wore this gown before me🤢 wearing something familiar that smells like home can help you feel comfortable and relaxed. Here are some things I suggest: - Sarong (you can wear nothing underneath and then untie the sarong once bub is born for skin to skin) - Bikini (if you’re using water) - Nightie - Partners T-shirt - Maternity bra and undies Any other suggestions? I dont ask for much but Im asking with all my heart for this - that my mother be protected and supported with love as I continue the biggest transition of my life, without her. Shes been living with us almost exclusively since Cairo was born two and a half years ago and its been rough... rougher than rough, its taken my beloved Davana and I past our limit. She has singlehandedly plunged us into the darkest pits of despair and it has felt hopeless at times. If it wasnt for our fam and soulfam I dont know how we would have been able to stay positive. I own my failures in not seeking extra support in the beginning, I was naive to believe it would all work itself out so long as I kept going but Ive been humbled. Having denied it, avoided it, displaced it it feels good to finally come to a place of clarity and acceptance of my responsibility for her care. Part of that is having healthy boundaries with her and holding the truth that I can no longer sacrifice mine and my familys well being by having her live in the same home as us. I know other families have been able to successfully care for their parents with dementia and have found it very fulfilling, but its just not my case. My mother is carrying a lifetime of unprocessed trauma and as her memory continues to fade, so to does her capacity to hold it in. As such I can no longer allow her to project her pain and her fears upon Davana, who has been so good to her. I broke down in tears more than a few times in her inability to receive all the love Davana was giving her. It was so sad to see that she simply couldnt receive it. Yet, we harbor no ill will towards her and rather than resentment for the extra pain shes put our family through, I feel gratitude for the lessons and to know I must take a new approach to caring for her moving forward. Shes in Las Vegas right now near my sister, and is in good spirits. We had a great conversation earlier and she expressed her love for us and I felt it. She misses Cairo but said she doesnt want to be a barrier to us fulfilling our dreams. I let her know she wasnt and that once we find our home and settle in Ill find a place for her not too far. I shared my transformation on my story & many of you commented you had always assumed I had a “fit or healthy” journey. So I thought I’d do a little back story🥰 I once counted calories. Everything was either good or bad for you. I now see food as fuel. Food fuels my body. I once punished myself with exercise. I now see exercise as a celebration. It’s a privilege & blessing to be able to move my body. I once thought that lifting heavy weights would make me manly or bulky, I now know better. I once thought carbs & fat would make me fat & in order to lose weight or see results I had to eat under 1000 calories of “clean foods.” Carbs & fat make up the bulk of my diet now. . I battled eating & workout disorders. Gymnastics & diet culture ran deep & it took years to overcome but I overcame those demons & they no longer hold a grip over my life. I had a hard loss at making history my senior year of highschool w. severe ankle injuries while competing on a broken ankle. I lost by .025. I then had a career ending injury my sophomore year of college. The video is of me getting back up 7 years later & doing the very skill that ended my career & caused so much turmoil in my life. This is part of where the name @twenty2nutrition comes from 😉 I endured sexual abuse...I’m no longer a victim.🙌🏽 . I wanted quick fixes & to change everything about my body. I now know that quick fixes don’t exist. Change takes time & I have loved my body more than ever over the last 4 years of my life NOT because of how I look but my my outlook on myself, my body & mindset. I survived a car accident that should have killed me. That was my wake up call. That moment of almost losing my life showed me I had a choice. I could choose to continue walking around miserable holding onto the past, the things that weren’t going right & always focusing on the negatives OR I could focus on the blessings right in-front of me & choose to be thankful in that moment for what I was blessed with. Change takes time. It’s a process, a journey, & a lifestyle. Your life is not a race, so stop shooting for a finish line. It was a mixed emotion weekend, from crazy workload, assignments, mum duties, some unfortunate luck and exhaustion. I honestly was just about to say “this has been far the worst weekend for 2020” and after Jarrad woke up from his nap after 7 days straight. I literally cried from being just so defeated - there wasn’t any real issue but exhaustion. He said “let’s go to the beach.” My response was “no way, I’m just tooo tired I just want 10mins to myself” He convinced me that I could have that 10mins at the beach. And I am so grateful for him pushing me to do so, going to the beach just cleared my thoughts, it motivated me in the mind, made me feel more grateful for what we have and what we are capable of doing and I’m siting on the couch now with my family thinking this weekend wasn’t bad after all and I’m so lucky. Estoy a punto de cumplir 39 semanas de embarazo 💖 Desde un comienzo, varias personas me preguntaron si es que planeaba “seguir con mi estilo de alimentación” durante mi embarazo... Y después de 2 años y medio llevando una alimentación 100% basada en vegetales, la verdad es que en ningún minuto me cuestioné otro tipo de nutrición para esta importante etapa en mi vida 🤰🏼🌱 . ¿Y el resultado? Pues hasta ahora todo bien! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Mi embarazo ha evolucionado de acuerdo a lo esperado e, incluso, humildemente puedo decir que hasta me han felicitado 😄 Me atiendo con un doctor que no necesariamente ve “embarazos veganos”, pero según sus propias palabras, tras revisar mis exámenes de rutina comentó “raramente he visto estos buenos índices en madres que llevan una alimentación omnívora”.🔝 . Hay quienes me han preguntado si es que he tomado algún tipo de suplemento durante mi embarazo, y la respuesta es sí, lo cual es muy común en mujeres gestantes y nada tiene que ver con ser o no vegana. En mi caso escogí un multivitamínico prenatal certificado vegano y orgánico, que busqué con tiempo cuando recién estábamos planeando ser padres con @marcelofriasr Además de eso, continúo tomando vitamina B12 para asegurar un adecuado nivel de este nutriente. Eso, y una alimentación variada e informada, me han llevado a disfrutar un embarazo gracias a Dios sin sobresaltos 🙏 . Con esto simplemente quiero establecer que sin duda se puede llevar adelante y de manera saludable un embarazo con una nutrición basada 100% en vegetales. We waren vandaag bij @speelparkoudvalkeveen 🎠. Het begon met veel drama 🙈. Sion die huilend en gillend de auto uit ging en niet mee wilde lopen, wat de reden was weten we niet..het zal wel weer met fases te maken hebben. Toen hij eenmaal de draaimolen zag was zijn humeur weer bijgedraaid en dat duurde precies 10 min, toen sloeg het weer om en na 3 kwartier konden we ons uitje eindelijk gezellig maken zoals op de fotos te zien is 😆. Zon 50/50 dagje moet er ook een keer tussen zitten denk ik maar 😅. Uiteindelijk was het een gezellig dagje met mijn liefdes en dat vind ik het belangrijkst 🤎 - Over het park zelf? Vorig jaar waren we er ook en toen vonden we het leuker en beter. Het lijkt erop alsof ze hebben bezuinigd op personeel, want 1 persoon bediende 3 attracties waardoor je best lang moest wachten en-/of naar een andere attractie moest lopen om te vragen wanneer de ander weer open gaat. Heel jammer als je anders gewend bent. Recovery is always a triggering experience, because I worry that maybe my fibromyalgia or CFS symptoms will come back. Today is my 2 years remission anniversary from fibromyalgia and severe CFS/ME. No symptoms or medications. . . Pregnancy recovery has me worried that Ill be debilitated and trapped in suffering again. I have had to work with my mind/body therapist on this to release immense fear. Thankfully any symptoms I have had have been normal and do pass (minus the severe preeclampsia post birth). I just keep telling myself, I have so much evidence now that my body can heal. . . The things that have been critical for maintaining my health are sleep and stress reduction. My family has been very supportive of me being able to get sleep. Stress reduction has come through my relationship with God and my therapist. I do many things to maintain being in remission. Its a lifestyle...eating well, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, etc. . . Do symptoms trigger anxiety for you? Pregnancy brain ...is that a real thing? ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Lately I noticed that Ive been very forgetful. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ The other day i packed Saariyahs bag for her swimming class and ended up forgetting her towel AND her change of clothes 🤪. I’ve got something to tell you.... I own a strap on pregnancy belly! Did I get you??? 🤣🤣🤣 No freaking way my body could survive a 5th pregnancy (I miscarried after my 1st).... after 3 big baby deliveries (2 naturally, 1 c section and prolapse surgery to repair- no joke it resembled a smash crab 🔨🦀 !) .... not to mention the mental pressure of a 4th and running a business. To ensure this never happens my hubby had the snip ✂️ 🎾 🎾 (big shout out to my main man- bloody legend! Thanks honey appreciate it and so does my body!) I’m grateful for being able to have children and thankful however this pelvic floor can hardly jump on a trampoline without nearly needing a loo and my hormones go freaking crazy on any birth control , Mirena (don’t get me started on that on) or implanol😉 - so it’s nice to just have fun now 💥💥. In saying all this.... I felt all nostalgic today when shooting for my online clothing store @stylemeover and doing styling videos and including preggy style (can’t exactly use a pregnant model in lockdown atm hey!).... Thoughts on grappling with an unruly body in clothes for unruly times: The leisure, ath- or otherwise, category has always been tough for me. A key element of the sartorial armor that supports my body confidence is polish—clean lines, a general put-togetherness. Styles that look disheveled, even artfully so, worry me: can I look messy and fat without looking messy because I’m fat? I tread with caution. And then, the pandemic. Suddenly, I had nowhere to go. All clothes were at-home clothes. And, bonus, I was increasingly pregnant. My unruly body would not be contained within clean lines, could barely be held together, refused anything but deep comfort. And so my unruly body slid into unruly dressing. I think quite a bit about when my soft belly will once again accept being zipped into sleekness. If it ever will. If I can continue to construct the same image of myself. If I want to. If unleashing my unruly body in unruly style will unleash what I most fear: my unruly mind. Heute leben wir mit unseren Kindern sehr natürlich, bewusst & wir ernähren uns gesund. Meinem Mann & mir ist es sehr wichtig das unsere Kinder natürlich, „artgerecht“ & mit unendlich viel #Liebe aufwachsen. Unsere Kinder wurden & werden gestillt, so lange sie es brauchen. Sie schlafen im #Familienbett , so lange sie diese Nähe benötigen. Wir verbringen sehr viel Zeit in der Natur, damit sie frei & natürlich aufwachsen können. . Shortly after I found out I was pregnant I obsessed over all the baby science and learning new stuff that was happening in my body each week. I was overjoyed and scared and each day dragged on as we kept such a big secret between us. During one of my research binges our baby was the size of a bean and I was watching a video online where the woman’s baby was the size of a strawberry. I said, “I want my baby to be the size of a strawberry,” with a pouty face. Pete said, “You can’t rush through this whole process or else you’ll miss it. Then you’re gonna want an apple and then a melon and what, then you’re gonna just want the baby to be here and you’re gonna wish it all away. Let’s just enjoy our bean.” Since then I have been using that day as a reminder to be present. I have been enjoying each stage. Each time I check my app it tells me about the baby’s fingernails or his eyes developing, or even the texture of his skin and I’m just thankful for it. Gente, pensem numa criança feliz.... Consegui uma cadeira de rodas muito confortável...estica a perna e deita...posso até dormir nela... Obrigada meu amigo Carlos Castilho 🤗🌹🥰 Agora vamos as novidades... Essa semana eu fiz uma cintilografia óssea, o resultado ainda não saiu... Só na próxima semana.... Também fui no oncologista e ele acabou me pedindo várias tomos...de partes moles.... umas 4 no total.... O que ele queria saber era se o problema era só no osso ou afetava outras partes... Pediu também exame de sangue e urina... Já fiz alguns exames e na segunda feira termino de fazer... No dia 31 sexta feira, eu volto com ele com todos esses resultados.. aí eu acredito que ele consiga determinar como será meu tratamento.... enquanto isso sigo com os remédios pra controlar as dores. Ele disse que se for pra tratar só o osso é de um jeito...e se tiver alguma coisa diferente aí é de outro jeito... Estou bem confiante e feliz, porque tudo está caminhando e sinto a vibração e apoio de todos vocês!!! Só posso agradecer!!!! Gratidão sempre!!!! Beijos no coração de vocês!
