2009 vs. 2019. Not much has changed in the past 10 years 🤷🏼♀️Just kidding, A LOT has changed. My sweet grandma was so nervous to get her makeup done but loved it afterwards 💕 i kept babushka’s makeup soft and natural so she radiates her true raw beauty. I asked Minh @dusoleilphoto to capture my grandparents on their 59th wedding anniversary and these photos make me cry just looking at them😭🥰 They have zero photos from their wedding, with a stranger as their witness and just them two in Georgia in 1961 with a plate of khinkali to celebrate, we felt they deserved some real wedding photos. Their love story is beautiful, one for the books 💓 knowing each other since childhood, and living through poverty and war in Ukraine, they overcame it all. The scale doesn’t know... The scale doesn’t know that I’m engaged to the man I started dating at 16 years old. The scale doesn’t know that I am a fiancée, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, granddaughter, best friend, classmate, student, coach, future doctor of physical therapy. The scale doesn’t know that I was an athlete part of a team from first grade through the end of high school. The scale doesn’t know that I dislocated and fractured my patella my freshman year of high school (2010). Or that I had surgery on it in 2017. The scale doesn’t know how inconsistent I was with health and fitness during undergrad. The scale doesn’t know that I was dismissed from my DPT program after the first year. Or that I was privileged enough to restart the following year. That I can’t get any more C’s. It doesn’t know the inherent stress and anxiety that caused. The scale doesn’t know I finally said yes to my high school teammate turned coach nearly a year and a half ago to join her team. The scale doesn’t know that I just became a coach myself because I want to help others on their wellness journey. The scale doesn’t know how much muscle vs fat I have. The scale doesn’t know my best friend lives across the country. The scale doesn’t know that I lost all of my grandparents before the age of 22. The scale doesn’t know that I have been going to therapy for 2 years. The scale doesn’t know that I found the strength to share my story. The scale doesn’t know. The scale will never know. Today is my moms Birthday and her 70th year around the sun. Words can’t describe how much she means to me and my family. She’s been there to show me the many uses of Dawn soap, how to show kindness, and how to be adventurous. We’ve traveled to Europe together, ate croissants in a Paris garden. We’ve sat on the beaches of Brazil many times with our lovely family and friends. We’ve leaf peeped in New England, and have sat around many of campfires and have shared many laughs and memories.
