I have quit smoking twice before - both times for the men I was dating. Once was two and a half years, the other was ten months. And knowing I could ‘stop at anytime I want to’ helped me make all sorts of excuses. This time it’s a little different. This time was fucking hard. It was a struggle and even though I didn’t really smoke a lot (two to three cigs in the evening and before bed) I was completely displaced those first few weeks. Couldn’t sleep for hours because I didn’t have that last cig, not really feeling an urge but feeling out of sorts. Man it was hard. Rewiring my brain, new ways to relax and chill - took a couple of months. Today is 8 months since I stopped smoking and I am so so proud of myself because this time, I did it for ME. Ive been using cannabis since 2014. Originally I used it to help me get over a breakup. Turns out it only took two blunts and three days before I had forgotten all about it. I was instantly sold. It may have only been three days but it felt like I had all the time to sit, reflect and rationalize the entire situation. I continued smoking after the breakup and graduation. Weed kept me sane after graduation, kept me calm. Edible high is a more dysfunctional high. Like trying to drive after an edible compared to smoking a blunt is different. Much closer to hallucinating with edibles, never felt that while smoking a blunt. But edibles? Yes. Edibles a mental high. Doses and ingestion play role. Can’t 100 % say that though. Sometimes one brownie im really high, 2 brownies comfortable high. My favorite thing about weed it opens up another realm of the world something I dont get while sober. Im naturally a spiritual person but when Im high I really feel the universe. I’m not sure about your household, but in mine fresh bagels are a big deal. They’re something that we wake up early to go get on Sundays or treat ourselves to on birthdays. A few post ago you guys saw that I’ve been craving bagel sandwiches EVERY day. For those I just use store bought bagels, but nothing compares to the real deal fresh ones. The other day I went to Trader Joe’s and picked up a new bottle of everything but the bagel seasoning and it sparked an idea. Why can’t I just make homemade bagels? DUH. So I tested some recipes the other day and finally... NAILED IT so here you go friends What you’ll need: 1 1/4 c all purpose flour + extra for forming bagels (can sub gluten free) 1 c Greek yogurt 1 egg white 2 tsp baking powder pinch of salt toppings of your choice (mine was EBTB) - preheat oven to 400 - in a large bowl mix together yogurt + egg white - add in flour, salt, and baking powder and mix until dough comes together - divide the dough into 4 equip parts - now sprinkle 2-3 tbsp on flour on top of mixed dough - start rolling out each section and form them into a circle by punching the ends together - if the dough starts sticking to your hands add more flour - Place on baking sheet and add either water or egg wash on top - HEAVLY sprinkle on whatever topping you desire - bake for 20-25 min. Even though they look nice and done on the outside make sure they are cooked all the way through - let them cool, slice in half and pop in the toaster for the perfect homemade bagels Enjoy 💛 - @courtneywellness_ on Instagram

Sourdough Bagels Ive been hooked on baking these past few days and these Bagels are my last experiment. You should give them a go, theyre perfect for.a quick lunch and you can reheat them during the week. My fave is topped with zaatar and filled with smoked salmon, sour cheese and rucola! Recipe for 6 Bagels: 250 gr. Water 10gr. Salt 40 gr. Sourdough 400 Bread Flour Process: combine salt and water, dissolve sourdough and mix in the flour. Let sit for an hour at room Temp. Stretch and fold the dough 5-7 times and let sit for an hour, seam down. Pick up the dough from your bowl and hold it in your hands, stretch the edges and tuck them underneath 5-7 times. Let sit for an hour and repeat the process two more times. After four hours since you mixed all ingredients, rest the dough in the fridge for 12 hours - for long sleepers, 8 for early risings. On a floured surface, cut the dough in 6 pieces and roll into balls. Press your pointing finger in the middle of a ball and rotate until it opens. Stretch the bagel and let it sit for an hour at room Temperature. Boil in boiling water+baking soda, 1 minute on each side. Top your Bagels with anything you got in the dry pantry.
