Avete mai bevuto il latte appena munto?! O fatto colazione su un tavolo di pietra sospesi nel silenzio, tra terra e cielo ? Qualche girono fa vi accennavamo al ricordo più bello dell’estate: per noi è stata l’alba in malga. Questa estate abbiamo fatto scorta di ricordi. Come le formiche fanno le scorte di cibo per affrontare i lunghi inverni, noi abbiamo fatto provviste di bellezza. La mattina dell’alba in malga, Enrico e Giulia con Thomas, un giovane pastore, sono andati a recuperare le mucche al pascolo, mentre noi ammiravamo le Dolomiti tingersi di rosa per l’ “Enrosadira” (il fenomeno per cui all’alba e al tramonto le montagne diventano il giardino di rose di Re Laurino) Poi, tutti insieme, siamo andati nella stalla dove il nonno di Heidi (scorrete le foto e ditemi se Conrad, il gestore di @malgacontrin non sembra il nonno di Heidi) ci ha fatto mungere le mucche e assaggiare il latte appena munto... poi insieme abbiamo fatto il formaggio ... e alla fine, stanchi e felici e affamati abbiamo fatto colazione con i prodotti freschi dellla malga Contrin: yogurt, pane, latte, salumi.... Alle nove del mattino avevamo già vissuto intensamente la nostra giornata. Per i bambini è stata una grande scuola di vita: hanno imparato il senso del lavoro, da dove arrivano alcuni prodotti che in genere compriamo al supermercato, il rapporto con la terra e gli animali. He’s been gone for 7 years, and he is a big part of the WHY behind FOS. Many of you know our story, of how my dad was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s, at the age of 46. How he was given 2 years to live, and how he miraculously lived for 7. How I left my job to care for him and started homeschooling the girls so they could be with him for whatever time we had. How those years and then losing him changed our whole perspective on life and living it to the fullest. _________________________________________________ It is why we sold our home and hit the road. Why we wanted something different for our girls. Why we wanted to give back at places like this, the cattle ranch we volunteer at every year. Why we wanted to share in these incredible experiences as a family. Say hello to Apollo Creed a.k.a. Ddhälh kït Nelnah Studio in Tthee tsà niik (Beaver Creek, Yukon)! 🚀🚙 With help from family, I was able to renovate this 78 Apollo motorhome into a functioning studio space. We removed old carpet, replaced wall panels, and caulked every window. Walls were painted grey and cupboards white with new flooring installed. Never been great with directions 🗺 Three tips for planning a trip to Montana in the fall: 1. Pack layers: the mornings and evenings are pretty chilly, we’re talking in the 50s. But during the day the weather will easily get into the high 70s. 2. Plan on getting to Glacier National Park around 6:30am/7am if you want a parking spot close to a popular trail. 3. If you’re staying in Whitefish and want to spend the day at GNP plan to drive a hour one way. The park entrance is a solid 35mins from Whitefish and most hikes are another 30-45mins from the entrance. Yes, there is plenty of bullshit and loss that Covid has brought us all. It’s wreaked havoc on our emotional, physical and financial well being. But every disaster offers a little silver lining that peeks through its trail of misfortune. How about the forced time out we all seemed to be begging for in our over-wound, busy lives? It put many of us deeper in the arms of the outdoors…a space that offered relief from crowds and public interaction. It forced a new way of relating to others, spawned creative ways to satisfy our basic human needs for connection with each other. Yeah, there is nothing like a hug and a handshake…but we (reluctantly) adapted. These are the Covid “wins”. Road trips seemed to become more popular. Air travel was not ideal, so getting back on the ‘ol asphalt was a great option. It brought many bucket list items to the forefront with a very “Why not?” attitude. The spontaneity was so refreshing. We’ve always wanted to a Griswold inspired vacation in an RV through the States. A throwback to the Americana road trip. So, we did. Rented a 24ft C class and headed for Boulder, CO where my sister and family now lives. We had a little plan, but not much. Just cruise and make some stops in the odd corners and crevices along the way. It was fun. It was hard. Nothing quite like traveling 4200 miles in rolling bedroom on wheels with 4 of your significant others. There were plenty of “I want to go home’s” and “You’ll appreciate this when your older” But we endured and adapted just like people do when things are challenging. So climb up the steps of JoJo and ride along with us with a few pics from the trip. Here’s 10 standouts… but then dive into my story for a wider display of moments. Love you all. I’ve been working remote for the past week, while having a seasonal employee tend the flowers. • Vacations are a bit tricky for me because I want to be working all of the time. A good problem to have when you do what you love. • But, this break has been a much needed one. We’ve road tripped in a van from Montana to Wyoming to Idaho. • We’ve seen nature like I haven’t ever before. We’ve seen rivers and lakes, buffalo and bears. Normally we say we will go anywhere the customer is willing to pay for....Today is different. We received a call this week from Brittany at Duncan Family Farms asking if we could donate trucking. They needed help getting 300,000 pounds of donated hay up to the farms in the Okanagan area, farms all affected by the wild fires. So today, Saturday, we loaded up the trucks with every bale we could fit. Our drivers are off for a 10 hour drive to deliver this much needed resource that will help our neighbors on the other side of state start to recover from the vast devistation caused by the fires. This run was voluntary for our drivers. When asked, each one of them committed their time without hesitation. Eruptions can shoot up to 8,400 US gallons of boiling water to a height averaging 145 feet and lasts anywhere between 1 1/2 to 5 minutes! Intervals between eruptions usually range from 60 to 90 minutes. It’s cool, and what makes it cool is that it’s not controlled by a computer. Como primeira série trago Heartland, uma encantadora série que tomou conta do meu coração no final de 2019, até a data desta postagem já consegui maratonar as doze temporadas que estavam disponíveis, juntamente com minha irmã, simplesmente acompanhamos cada temporada com aquela vontade de ver muito mais. Agora vamos a história da série? A série é canadense (a paixão já começa aqui), uma história que gira em torno de uma família que vive no rancho Heartland, contando sobre a vida de Amy e Lou Fleming, seu avô Jack Bartlett, Ty o rapaz que ajuda no rancho e ao longo da série passa a ter um lugar importante na família. Seu começo não é tão contente, Amy perde a mãe em um acidente de carro após salvar um cavalo na fazenda vizinha e ao se recuperar precisa enfrentar um longo caminho para conseguir se aproximar dos cavalos mais uma vez e o dom que herda da mãe pode ser seu grande aliado. My first time in #yellowstonenationalpark allowed me to see Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring (which at 200 feet across is the largest hot spring in the U.S.), as well as the spouting of the Riverside Geyser and other geysers and springs, along with many bison throughout the park. - @kinnier on Instagram
