A tour through the unique décor at the Ritz Paris. Have a look on the Regency-era tomb-credenza. This piece dating from 1725 illustrates how Paris was then the epicenter of the art world: numerous carpenters and cabinetmakers came here to train and produce prestigious commissions. Attributed to the great cabinetmaker Étienne Doirat, this piece reveals delicate rosette and amaranth marquetry as well as a table in red serpentine marble from Languedoc. Embellished with ornamentations in gilded bronze, it also features dragons as drawer handles. Angenieux EZ-1 & EZ-2 🚀🚀 This couple is probably the most versatile Zoom Duo out there. With the EZ line it‘s possible to change the rear element between S35 and FF/VistaVision coverage. The EZ-1 is 30-90mm F1.9/T2 in S35 Mode and 45-135mm F2.8/T3 in FF/VV mode. The EZ-2 is 15-40mm F1.9/T2 in S35 mode and 22-60mm F2.8/T3 in FF/VV mode. Both lenses can easily be changed to PL/EF Mount. They‘re a little above 20cm@2Kg which makes them pretty compact. Today would have been my grandfather’s 90th birthday- a milestone he just barely missed after passing peacefully in his sleep on Sunday. Grandpapa- thank you for decades of beautiful memories. I will miss you and Grandmaman forever- and yet you will always be with me in my stories and memories. My children will see photos of you, hear stories about you, and know you through the parts of you that you’ve left with me. A love for family, pride in a garden full of flowers (especially geraniums!), an appreciation for a good glass of wine shared with loved ones, and always double checking to make sure the door is locked- I still do that every time I leave the house or park my car. 🎶🔊 I’m always taken by the sound of his voice, I escape in it... The scariest and most meaningful tattoo I’ve ever done. I really wanted to do something more illustrative in style, not true photo realism but an artistic interpretation with my own personal mark and flair. Ive wanted to do something like this for a very long time and though I’m good at it on paper, I wasnt confident in doing photo realism on skin and needed to do it on the right person that I was comfortable taking the risk of doing a different style on. As it came together and didnt turn out like total crap I started getting very emotional. Because I havent felt good about tattooing in a long time, long before Covid. Now I don’t feel mentally ready to go back to work, and it’s been giving me a great deal of anxiety. But this made me feel encouraged, proud and inspired. I feel like doing this is a milestone in my career. I used to do portraits years ago but I was never happy with the quality so I stopped. Since then, I worked one specific style, honing my skills for years so to become more proficient. Coming back to my roots, I can feel and see my growth. I really needed the professional and artistic encouragement. But more than anything I love Walt with all of my soul. Hes my father in my heart and protects the tiny bit of untainted purity left in me that was not robbed. He fills the void in me with joy and inspiration. This meant so much to me to accomplish. Thank you to my dear friend Andy for trusting me and sticking with me all these years. Sadly guys, no I will not being taking on any portrait work. This was purely for my own enrichment as an artist and challenge as a tattooer. This summer I had the transformative experience of working for the first time as the DoP on a feature film, @modernpleasurez . Despite working within a budget that would be meager even for a 5 minute short, and being equipped with only a single lens and a single light, I felt creatively limitless. I have @kitakemushrooms to thank for this💗 Working with her showed me how artificial many limitations of production are…how the slight perspective shift that compromise in service of the whole doesn’t have to mean sacrifice of artistry or quality is more liberating than having bountiful excess. Of course I gotta thank everyone else, the supporting muscles of this film, who worked enthusiastically through occasionally unorthodox means to bring this project into being. La Passion et l’intensité Si j’avais deux mots pour décrire ces 4 dernières années ce serait passion et intensité. La Passion c’est la facilité a première vue, Je crois fortement qu’on est tous guidés ou attirés par quelques chose qui est enfoui en nous et qui est par instinct passionnel. Cela peut être une émotion qu’on recherche, un désir à assouvir ou un objectif à réaliser.. Mais avec la passion rien n’est facile, rien n’est acquis, rien n’est figé, ce qui est sûr c’est que suivre ces intuitions amène vers un idéal qui est personnel et intrinsèquement liée au bonheur. Depuis 4 ans je donne toute mon énergie quotidienne à mon métier de filmmaker, à mon collectif @mountainslegacy et à assouvir des projets perso comme raconter des histoires au travers de films et de me fixer des objectif sportifs pour me découvrir intérieurement. Quand je pense à la vie, le deuxième mot qui vient assez vite c’est intensité. L’intensité c’est le moteur, c’est répliquer chaque jours un effort qui t’amène à être bon dans ton domaine, à progresser et à devenir un « Yoda ». L’intensité ça développe aussi des mauvais côtés, beaucoup de sacrifices, voir moins les potes, sortir moins, contrôler ses émotions et parfois ne pas les laisser sortir. En faite la passion et l’intensité c’est le pacte d’un bonheur éphémère à grosses doses. L’association des deux c’est la potion magique, qui amène une force phénoménale avec de très grands hauts et aussi des bas, des doutes, des incertitudes lié à un choix de vie différents. Mais par dessus tout, La combinaison des deux c’est énormément de satisfaction, beaucoup d’émotions et des souvenirs indélébiles avec des gens exceptionnels gravés dans la tête jusqu’à mes derniers jours.
