As difficult as today is with my business closed and missing human contact, I know I have been through much worse and survived. This was one of my very first paintings. It has embedded text that reads “dont you care about anyone other than yourself youve changed youre not the person i thought you were”. I painted this during one of the most trying times of my life... ten years out of highschool, going back to school to study fine arts full time as a divorced single mother who bartended evenings. I suffered with severe depression and exhaustion. This painting freed me from the shame I carried for so long. Somehow by putting it down on canvas I was able to acknowledge it and put it aside.
