DATE: 09/23/19 TIME: 2:08AM LOCATION: LONDON ID: 121004 STATEMENT: 287 An illegal shipment had been logged traveling from Puerto Rico through Venezuela. We were informed and shipped out at around 1:09am. The owner of the package was a known black market importer, specialising in underground dog fighting rings. We arrived on the scene to find that the creature in question had been woken up when the cargo had been unloaded. We assumed it had been drugged when sent out but the medicine wore off by the time the ship made it to shore. One of the men noticed tracks and we pursued. It made its way through an alley and into the street. An ATD14 Drone caught a pictures as it fled across the street, allowing us to identify the asset as a Chupacabra. We managed to taser it before fleeing under a large van. We secured it and brought it to base. It was covered in scars and was considerably larger than wild Chupacabra. Due to the extensive scarring, and electro shock collar, we believe this was specifically bred for animal fighting. ------------------------------------------ ASSET ANALYSIS: CHUPACABRA THREAT LEVEL: 2 (APPROACH WITH CAUTION) Native to Puerto Rico, they are a distant subspecies of vampires, preferably feeding on small prey or livestock earning them the name Goat Sucker. Almost hunted to extinction in the mid-1900s they fell into legend. In the 1980s a clutch of eggs was shipped out to be sold in the exotic animal market. Many hatched and escaped into the wild of neighbouring countries and almost became an invasive species. After 2 years populations were finally under control and removed for study or release in Puerto Rico. ---------------------------------- Having a bit of fun with these fantasy creatures, thinking of doing some kind of monster manual, I might even bring in elements of Dungeons and Dragons at a later date. before i came out, and even after, i had trouble with femininity. for the majority of my life i tried to erase that side of me. i veered away from anything remotely feminine as an attempt to pass and validate my own identity by convincing myself i was only masculine and nothing else. suppressing that part of me felt necessary at times, but proved to be pointless. playing sports and being tall enough to pass were my only crutches, but nobody needs to do anything to prove who they r, and sports r dumb (in my opinion.) i still think of myself as a more masculine person, but embracing the part of me i used to hate was important. gender expression is different than gender identity, and it took me waaaaaaay too long to realize it. happy national non binary day, each and every one of you are valid and important 3 (side note, non binary/gender nonconforming people don’t owe u androgyny !! i’m speaking about my experience as an individual) - @capitalgrease1 on Instagram

A descrição da morfologia de Cérbero nem sempre é a mesma, havendo variações. Mas uma coisa que em todas as fontes está presente é que Cérbero era um cão que guardava as portas do Tártaro, não impedindo a entrada e sim a saída. Quando alguém chegava, Cérbero fazia festa, era uma criatura adorável. Mas quando a pessoa queria ir embora, ele a impedia; tornando-se um cão feroz e temido por todos. Os únicos que conseguiram passar por Cérbero saindo vivos do submundo foram Héracles, Orfeu, Enéias e Psiquê. Cérbero era um cão com várias cabeças, não se têm um número certo, mas na maioria das vezes é descrito como tricéfalo (três cabeças). Sua cauda também não é sempre descrita da mesma forma, às vezes como de dragão, como de cobra ou mesmo de cão. Às vezes, junto com sua cabeça são encontradas serpentes cuspidoras de fogo saindo de seu pescoço, e até mesmo de seu tronco. Quanto à vida depois da morte, os gregos acreditavam que a morada dos mortos era o Hades, que levava o nome do deus que o regia, ao lado de Perséfone. Hades era irmão de Zeus. Localizava-se nos subterrâneos, rodeado de rios, que só poderiam ser atravessados pelos mortos. Quando os homens morriam eram transportados, na barca de Caronte para a outra margem do rio Aqueronte, onde se situava a entrada do reino de Hades. Para acalmar a fúria de Cérbero, os mortos que residiam no submundo jogavam-lhe um bolo de farinha e mel que os seus entes queridos haviam deixado no túmulo. Seu nome, Cérbero, vem da palavra Kroboros, que significa comedor de carne. Cérbero comia as pessoas. Um exemplo disso na mitologia é Pirítoo, que por tentar seduzir Perséfone, a esposa de Hades, foi entregue ao cão. Cérbero era filho de Tífon (ou Tifão) e Equídina, irmão de Ortros e da Hidra de Lerna. What’s the longest length of time that you’ve spent trying to get the perfect shot? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Perseverance is often rewarded in camera trapping, and these atmospheric shots by @sebdedanieli were the result of over six years of tracking and monitoring wolves in the French Alps. Despite being top of the food chain, wolves are elusive creatures that are notoriously hard to see in this area. But Sebastian was undeterred and succeeded in capturing an impressive photo series of wolves prowling through the alpine forests. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thank you @sebdedanieli for letting us share these beautiful European grey wolf shots. Our second film for todays Werewolf doubleheader is the infamous An American Werewolf in London. Theres a full moon tonight, so what better movie to relax to than one of the greatest makeup feats of all time? Rick Baker won his first of 7 Academy Awards for his work on this film. . . Fun fact: Director John Landis stated in an interview his inspiration for the film was the old 1940s horror movie, The Wolf Man (1941), starring Lon Chaney Jr. in which, unusually, the werewolf was portrayed as a victim. Films tend to show the transformation from man to wolf through dissolves, but I wanted to capture how painful the entire process would be, and make it painful to watch. Although the film did have a lot of comedy, I wanted to treat the violence realistically to make it as terrible as violence always is.
