Since my daughter was born seven months ago I get asked all the time how my dogs are with her. I could not be more proud of them. Mack, my Border Collie in this photo, is the ever vigilant baby sitter, constantly looking to comfort her and protect her from harm but without being at all possessive of her. He also cries with her if she gets hurt or is hungry. River adores her and wants nothing more than to lay near her and get attention from her. River will gladly tolerate a collar grab or touch now that my daughter is crawling (always supervised). I adopted Mack as an adult and his previous owner did a wonderful job with him, but I spent a lot of time working with River as a puppy. I worked on getting her use to being touched all over and even to enjoy it. I taught her as a puppy to tolerate being handled and grabbed and restrained so that if children grabbed her or played too rough with her it would not cause any fear aggression. It is always important to supervise dogs and kids, even the most trustworthy of dogs and children, but good bite inhibition development and properly early socialization and handling can make the difference between enjoying your sweet family pet and having to re-home a dog because it is a danger to your children. Children who do not always understand a dogs space requirements. If you are getting ready to add a new puppy to your home or have already added one I do offer Skype and phone training sessions as well as in person sessions if you are local. As I captured this breathtaking panorama, it occurred to me that this was the last view for those trapped in the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001. Evening was descending over New York. My kids, who would ordinarily be asking a million questions, were hushed in awe of the sight, and more so, by the gravity of these hallowed grounds. The observatory is located in One World Trade Center, but I prefer its unofficial name. Freedom Tower. The more empowering title. We have the freedom to determine our own values, to rebuild, to remain in this city, to say NO to the forces of evil. Not since the fallout of September 11th has this message been more relevant. So here I stood, with my teenage son who had been in my womb as our Manhattan home filled with smoke that lingered for weeks. My toddler daughter was meant to begin her first day of school back then. It soon became clear that would not happen. We stood at our apartment windows and watched the powder-coated World Trade Center survivors stream three miles north, past our building, towards Grand Central Terminal. Looking for a way out. For a long time many city residents found their way out, some permanently. But then the faithful returned. Or remained. And New York was reborn. The story of 9-11 is one of loss, heroism, perseverance, determination, and rebirth. Lets honor those lost by staying the course. In Nov 2008, my ToysRUs Manager asked me to dress as Geoffrey the Giraffe and be the “Master of Ceremony” for the Autism Speak Walk in Anaheim at Angel Stadium. I got to meet a bunch of kids while walking awhile as Geoffrey in the hot sun. No sarcasm, I had a really fun time doing it. There along with me was the 501st Legion, the International Organization of Star Wars fans with legit costumes. For the opening ceremony I was dead center leading stretches in front of the crowd with with Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, Vader, and other Star Wars character flanking both sides of me. I found this photo in my computer, literally the only cool photo I have of the event. While we were on break in our holding area, we were messing around and someone suggested that one of the stormtrooper put on the Geoffrey head. ☻WORKING ON YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IN COLLEGE ☻ Not going to lie, my transition has been rough but I’m working on becoming the best version of myself everyday and here are some ways you can work on your mental health too. 1️⃣Know yourself- Being self aware is so important in a healthy lifestyle. Not only will it help you in school understanding how you learn best but it will also help you understand your body’s schedule. Listen to when your body wants food or if you’re bored. Listen to when you need rest or when you’re just feeling lazy. 2️⃣Have a strong support network- I don’t know what I would do without my friends at school cheering me up when I’m down. Having people you can always count on makes the biggest difference. Remember that in today’s society everyone puts their best face forward which can make it seem like you are the only one who is struggling with mental health issues in college, BUT YOU ARE NOT. Don’t ever be afraid to reach out. 3️⃣Put things in perspective and take a break- Remember college is hard and stressful. When you keep things in perspective you realize that everything will be okay if you don’t do as well as you wanted to on your calc exam. Yes, you should do well in college, but you don’t have to be perfect. If the pressure of everything is building up, take a break; do what you need to do relax and unwind. You always need to take breaks for your mental health so you don’t burn out. Na consulta clinicamente aparentava ser,mas a tomografia mostrou perfeitamente a situação e o neuro avaliou e a compreensão é bem pequena que devíamos investir na fisioterapia. É o que vamos fazer... Todo o dinheiro vai pra fisio e gastos pessoais dela,como fraldas,higiene ... Graças a Deus que não é cirúrgico 🙏❤ O caso da flor foi igual montanha russa a mente tá a mil,só felicidade.
