In the picture: The Ol Pejeta rhino caregivers and the KWS rangers were assisting Najin, one of the last two female Northern White Rhino to rest safely as the anesthesia was taking effect on her. The @biorescue_project team managed to harvest eight eggs from Fatu and two eggs from Najin. Throwing it back to Akobis early days of heart-melting. Not only is the pygmy hippo much smaller than the common river hippo, but its much more rare. These pygmy taters are found only in the interior forests in parts of West Africa, mainly confined to Liberia, with small numbers in the neighboring countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and the Ivory Coast. As a shy, nocturnal herbivore, the pygmy hippo eluded Western science until 1840.
