Fall is here with cooling overnight temperatures. The 26th is the final day of the #kamloopstomatofestival which is an online event this year. . We shared harvesting, seed saving, and preserving tips, recipes, and some fabulous dishes which local eateries are making. As well some vendors have made special treats like the tomato galettes by @Bluebunchfarm and @windyacresfarm7 . Yay! We are grateful everyone who has joined us in celebrating local food and tomatoes. . THOSE AREN’T PRINGLES! In the early morning hours, two CHP West Valley officers made a stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Upon contacting the driver, officers noticed the driver behaving strangely: avoiding eye contact, hesitant to lower the rear windows and he began reaching toward the back seat. The officer shined his flashlight inside the rear of the vehicle and illuminated a loaded handgun. The driver complied with all of the officers commands and was safely removed from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two false containers, a potato chip can and an unopened can of iced tea, that each contained narcotics packaged for sale. The drugs and gun were seized and the driver was placed under arrest. Amongst the assortment of drugs was methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, oxycodone, Xanax, as well as nearly $1,300 in narcotic sales proceeds. Several doses of narcotics ready for distribution and a loaded gun were removed from the streets today... all from a registration stop. - @chp_westvalley on Instagram

Our baby junipers love the alkaline water that runs from the springs at Hepple. - After 63 days of being stoned in lockdown, this is the very last of my stash with a two week wait til my next procurement. Fuck
the first succession of winter vegetables has been planted. Broccoli, Cauliflower & Cabbage all interplanted with garlic. Leek, kohlrabi, Radish, Beetroot and turnips. All composted with compost from our chicken system and mulched with our own hay. We will continue with similar plantings every two weeks so we have a nice succession of vegetables through winter and spring. This week we are also doing a large broad bean & an onion planting. In the next few weeks, we will also start larger garlic and pea plantation.
