Talking about sensations, my own experience teaches me this when something is not in your favour, everything around that situation gives you a sign. Just feel that right way and tada you are save. I sometimes ignore that and thinks its contradictory or its just what I feel. But with time I have realised that God tryna save us from that shit thats gonna happen later. Just feel that sign, we can say intuition in the right way and just go in the way it guides you, believe me you will not stray. Now at sometimes, I regret that If I have listened to the positive vibes before, i couldnt have remorsed on the situations Iam facing right now. But they gave me experience, which is also very important. Currently Iam focusing more on my intuition, you can say sixth sense but this is not funny. This gives you a huge reflection of whats gonna happen later, just risk it. And you will see positive results. And for times if you dont, atleast you will gain experience. For months we’ve been calling for clear confirmation on how blind and partially sighted people can be guided safely while social distancing through our #WorldUpsideDown campaign. This gap in public health information has caused lots of uncertainty, but we’re pleased that after persistently raising this issue, the Government have confirmed that blind and partially sighted people in England can be guided by someone outside their household or social bubble. Here we’ve put together our guidance on how this can be done while minimising risks. Im deeply concerned about compromised mental health being used as an excuse for wrong doing, especially here on social media. First up, doing illegal things in real life whether it’s fraud, abuse, plagiarism, or even bullying and trolling people on social media, cannot be absolved because one is struggling with a mental health problem. The reason why is because this adds to the stigma around mental health, why people are afraid to come out about it. If we continue to push this narrative, of absolving bad behavior because of a mental health issue, people who do have a mental illness will forever be judged for being immoral and thereby not seek the help they so desperately need. Secondly, it’s easy to blame social media for a compromised mental state. But it is not the problem, your behavior and how you engage with it, what you choose to communicate (your thought processes), what you choose to consume, who you follow, who you allow into your space are. Blaming social media for your mental health problems is like blaming the Fast Food industry for your high cholesterol, just don’t engage or if you do make healthy choices. It’s all up to you. If we gonna talk about doing the work with regards to social media as a projection of your life, this is it. After seeing that alarming picture of a police officer dressed up as a Deliveroo driver, I started doing some googles into the way companies are complicit in reinforcing the Prison Industrial Complex. I already knew about Byrons shady dealings with the Home Office but was unaware it also extended to some of my other favourite companies. It was disconcerting to read about the ways companies willingly prop up the Governments Hostile Environment policies through immigration raids. This is some of the stuff I found in my readings and really only explains a small fraction of the issue. On March 13th SWARM started a hardship fund for UK sex workers impacted by #COVID19. We gave out £251,000 in grants to 1,255 in-person sex workers across the UK. Last month the Government announced a new Income Support scheme for self employed people, who have been affected by COVID-19. As a rider, you may be able to receive a grant of up to 80% of your average monthly earnings over the last 3 years. To be eligible for the scheme you must have been self employed for more than a year, earn more than half your total income through self employed work and have filed a tax return for the 2018/2019 tax year. You have until April 23 2020 to submit one or you won’t be able to claim. You can find out more info on the roo community site. If you still need to file your tax return for 2018/19 we’ve partnered with Untied, the UK’s personal tax app, who are offering a free service for Deliveroo riders, making tax filing as easy as possible. With Untied, you just enter your income and expenses, and submit straight from your phone. Their service is also able to be translated into other languages. Common reasons that you may not be indexed include: 1️⃣ you have a new site that has no links pointing to it, and you havent submitted the site for crawling using search console. 2️⃣ Google found nothing of value on your site (not likely unless it is a spam site or duplicate of another site). 3️⃣ you have instructions telling Google not to crawl your site (in robots.txt or a robots meta tag). 4️⃣ there is a manual penalty that needs to be resolved (often happens after sites get hacked). We all know fight or flight, but another extremely common reaction is freezing, which feels like a temporary paralysis. Presently reading this self help book entitled Who will cry when you die? By @robinsharma . While I was reading a chapter called Focus on the worthy something triggered me up to write this. . My mom always advices me to work in a smart way. Certainty,hardwork is important but in todays generation, smartwork along with hardwork is whats important. To check if we work smart we gotto analyse if the time and effort we are putting in is in the right direction. By right direction, I here mean, is our hardwork yielding us results. In order to ensure we are putting in efforts in the right direction,we need to learn to differentiate between whats worthy and whats not. A self analysis of what we are passionate about and what skills do we possess is important. . Nevertheless trying new things and exploring yourself is important but once you know that ONE ABILITY of yours that can help you fly high,stick to it and work on getting the best out of it. You might be good at many but then the real secret of getting things done is knowing what needs to be left undone. Focus on the worthy because a person who tries to do everything ultimately achives nothing. The sage Confucius put it this way The person who chases two rabbits catches neither. . How high you will rise in your life will be determined not by how hard you work but by how well you think. I know for a lot of us, we went vegan because we saw graphic footage. So much vegan activism revolves around showing others this footage. Hell, I spent the better part of two years of my life traveling the country showing people graphic footage, five days a week. So I understand these this disturbing imagery, for better or worse, is an important part of the journey for many of us. But the longer Ive been vegan, the more Ive seen patterns and trends emerge, and I fear that we have an unhealthy obsession with trauma in this movement, an obsession with death and punishment. So many activists feel this need to self flaggelate by rewatching this footage. Pennace for our former non-vegan ways. In fact, when certain graphic documentaries come out, Ive seen vegans tell other vegans it is their duty to watch it, to bear witness. Weve come to view activism as forcing trauma on others, or on ourselves as we sit idly by, watching animals go off to die. But what purpose does this really serve other than to retraumatize ourselves again and again? Ive seen Earthlings twice in my life. Both times I was already vegan and both times it enraged me to the point of becoming unable to *do anything*. I was just mad at the world, I was mad at humanity, and all I could think was I hate anyone that participates in this. And while those may be the appropriate reactions to such horror, I dont think it actually creates the mental space to welcome others into the movement. It just creates an us vs them dynamic. I worry that saturating ourselves in graphic footage pushes us to engage in activism that is more interested in punishing non-vegans rather than saving animals. As Cornell West said You cant lead the people unless you love the people. We cant create change by hating those we wish to inspire to join us. This is a common question that I get from clients (especially the new ones). The short answer: sometimes yes, sometimes no. The long answer: It ultimately depends on the problem we are working on. - If you are a rehab or fitness client and we are focusing on improving mobility and technique, then probably not. You should feel pretty good afterward. Loosey Goosey baby! - If we are just working on building strength and conditioning (aka fitness), then you most definitely do NOT have to have muscle soreness in the following days, but if you do have some I wouldnt be surprised. - If you are a rehab client and we are focusing on an area of pain and improving its ability to tolerate things in the gym and in life....then likely yes. Some soreness after the session (right after, or later that night) tells us that we loaded up that area enough to cause some change. If it is gone within 24 hours, we loaded it the right amount. If your symptoms get spiked for 24 hours or are sharp/miserable, then we probably did a little too much and we need to back off. If you feel amazing afterward....great! That means we are doing something right, and we can probably load it a little more! Hello everyone. We have been planning our Solidarity March for almost a week now but it was recently brought to our knowledge that there is another rally in Hamilton at a similar time that we had scheduled our Solidarity March. We did not know of this rally prior to setting the date for our event. We did not intentionally plan for our march to coincide with another event held by black youth in the community: we would never do that. Our goal from day one is to spread awareness and to encourage others to become more educated on the matter. Knowing this, we would never do anything to step on the toes of the black community, we want to give the time and space for black youth to speak and we are here to amplify their voices. Our motive with this march was to address/bring light to the issue of systemic racism that often stems from local Hamilton/Dundas schools which may continue to impact the potential of many students later on in their lives. In light of all this, our event planned for June 27th at 3pm will be CANCELLED. BUT PLEASE KNOW that our work will continue and we will not stop spreading awareness in our community. We now have a member of the Black community running this page with us to get another stance. You can expect more events (in-person marches and online) to be planned and important information to be shared in the near future. We hope to still have support from all of you as we move forward. Only about 16% of Americans know their sickle cell trait (SCT) status – this number can be even higher in low resourced countries. ⠀ ⠀ [Sickle Cell 102]: For the sickle cell nerds...⠀ ⠀ In most high resource countries, every individual undergoes a blood test within the first 24 hours of life that can diagnose a myriad of conditions including sickle cell disease and #sicklecell trait. Interestingly, this practice only started in the U.S. in every state in the year 2000.⠀ ⠀ According to the CDC, most people with SCT do not have any symptoms of SCD although in extreme conditions like dehydration, high altitudes and low oxygen levels in the atmosphere, SCT carriers might experience complications. Some of these complications include exercise-induced rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown), renal medullary carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer), proteinuria (blood in the urine) among many others. ⠀ ⠀ Although the sickle cell mutation is thought to have originated from the equatorial parts of the world and served as a protective factor against malaria, every individual irrespective of race, ethnicity, or ancestry can be a sickle cell trait carrier. *** Trigger alert. Extremely sad news and rage.*** . . . . . As many of you know, two years ago I had a stillbirth at 32 weeks. Alexander and I needed to wait 18 months before trying again so imagine our joy when a few weeks ago we had a positive pregnancy test. Fast forward to last week when I learned the fetus had stopped growing weeks earlier and didnt have a heartbeat. Since my body wasnt getting the memo and still thought I was pregnant, I was having what is called a missed miscarriage. When that happens you have three options: 1 - Let it pass on its own. You have no idea where or when it will happen and apparently it is absolutely awful. I googled it. Dont. 2 - Take the abortion pill where your body forces itself to eject your insides. Again painful and not even 100% effective but at least you can control the timing. 3 - Have a D&C which is the same procedure as an abortion. They put you under, take everything out, and you can go about your business. Not natural but by far the best option. Obviously I chose option 3. Now imagine my surprise when I go to confirm my appointment and I learn that it will cost me $6000. And I HAVE INSURANCE. And keep in mind they didnt TELL me this. Alexander insisted that I ask. So now I am stressing, because even though I am so so privileged that I can afford that, it is still a shit ton of money. Im deciding between pillaging our savings, or going through a traumatic experience. Like 2020 can choke and die. Then I called @plannedparenthood and scheduled the same procedure for $710. Fuck everyone who wants to get rid of D&Cs and abortion pills. Fuck everyone who wants to defund Planned Parenthood. Fuck the healthcare system that forces choices like this. And I swear if I see a single pro-life person at my appointment they will get all my pent up 2020 rage. Volunteer with Planned Parenthood. Give them your money. Support their existence.
