Rwanda has a vibrant music scene and our family really loves music and we go to as many concerts as we can. My Rwandan playlist literally brings me back to my time there and all of the fun adventures we had driving around the country. At least once I got the hang of local rules like driving down the wrong side of the road to pass rows of cars! I had one particularly memorable and fun evening attending the Salax Music awards in Kigali and covering the red carpet arrivals! As one of the images exhibited at University of San Diego I hope this photo serves to continue to add to a more complete and evolving view of Rwanda. We discussed the vital need to enable the return of still displaced Yazidis, rehabilitate Sinjar, provide justice to Yazidi survivors, and rescue those still missing in ISIS captivity. I’ve been meaning to post for a long time, thanks for sticking around! The inside of this piece is a cast of my face, intended to fit only myself perfectly. Others can try on the mask and experience a sort of intimacy with it and a form of myself, but the rigidity of the cast will keep the wearer from interacting too long with the piece. . . . On September 27, 2020 at approximately 1 am, Manchester Police patrolling the area of Elm St and Lowell St were made aware of a fight taking place near Penuche’s Bar. When officers arrived, the incident appeared to be over, but there was still a group of people outside. A witness told police that a man in a gray sweatshirt, later identified as 35 y/o Matiop Ayuel had a gun and had pointed it at a group of people. It was unknown what caused the argument, but the witness said Ayuel was shouting threats while holding the gun. The other people involved were uncooperative and did not provide officers with any information. Based on Ayuel’s behavior, he was charged with Reckless Conduct and Disorderly Conduct. The gun was found to have a defaced serial number, so Ayuel was also charged with Changing marks on a Pistol and Felonious Use of a Firearm.
