Repost from @st_ali • Tony Nicolini launches an Italian Artisans range online with St Ali’s Salvatore Malatesta It’s not a widely known fact, that the man behind Melbourne’s DOC group of restaurants sold his interests in the brand to launch Italian Artisans a couple of years ago- a passion project focused on ingredients and vino produced by Italian artisans and of course pizza made with ancient grains. “I wanted to give other people the opportunity to peek into my pantry and be able to take those ingredients home, too,” says Nicolini. As restrictions in Melbourne have had an impact on business, Nicolini has developed a customisable pizza base for a retail market, set to launch exclusively through his great friend Salvatore Malatesta’s General Store The base will be sold individually in 8.5” diameter pizzetta sizing, built from a combination of tipo 00 flour and ancient grains with the tiniest component of yeast and at least 72 hours of fermentation, meaning that unlike other pre-packaged pizza bases, it is highly nutritious and easy to digest. It will be adorned simply with a sauce made from highly prized, Italian heirloom San Marzano or Yellow tomatoes. The Italian Artisans base is designed for you to store in the fridge or freezer, top simply with ingredients like Buffalo Mozzarella and Prosciutto or Anchovies and Burrata (available in the St Ali General Store), and serve as a spuntino or as a perfect accompaniment to an Aperitivo Spritz, an edgy Lambrusco or an artisanal beer, as Nicolini does with his own family. This will be the first product in a range from Italian Artisans exclusive to St Ali’s General Store. Don’t swipe if you don’t like blood 😭 I’m sure you’ve all already seen my story from yesterday but I thought I would give you all an in-depth insight into Bambi’s new injury 😖 Bambi has only been back in work for 2-3 weeks after recovering from her last freak injury and yesterday I discovered her like this 😭 From the looks of it my vet and myself believe she had been playing in the paddock and badly clipped her heal in the process causing this injury 😣 Going off the blood around the paddock and the fact that there is nothing dangerous in the paddock we are 99% sure this is what happened 😕 Especially because she loves to race the babies in the paddock next to her She hit an artery and unfortunately was not able to be stitched up, she got a couple odd stitches to help keep it in place but not much 😔 She is SOOO LUCKY that she didn’t get near any tendons, the vet was honestly surprised she didn’t when she first saw it 😳 It’s hard to say how long the recovery time will be, but my guess is pretty similar to the last one 🙄 It’s safe to say this horse is now going to be wrapped in bubble wrap, there’s no way she’ll be hurting herself now 🤭 I don’t need any advice on what protective gear she needs, I’m all set trust me 😂 Bless her though, as always she was the best patient ever and making the vet fall in love with her 🥺 Somehow from when I found her till now she is not at all lame, this horse must have the highest pain tolerance ever 😱 But anyway, this obviously blew all my training plans out the window for at least another few weeks 😅 But I’m honestly just happy that she’s okay and like last time she’ll make a full recovery 😁 • Yet again @tuffrockaustralia will be playing a MASSIVE part in Bambi’s recovery, the reason she healed as quickly as she did last time was with their help! We took a trip to @tatteredfarms today. I love the farming/ranching community and the gems of people you find. They came last week and got Clyde and Lorna. We got to talking and quickly realized theyd be where we are getting our pigs from, so we got to see Clyde and Lorna today living the life in their new home. So happy I get to continue to see my first cows ♥️ Now we are coming home with 2 Kune Kune pigs! Pigs are one of my last must haves on my dream pet list and these ones are adorable! Thats a wrap! Another Common Ground Country Fair has come and gone. While this year may have looked different from previous years, the spirit of the Fair was felt in the overwhelming love and support from viewers around the world who tuned in to connect to the many features of this years event. We learned many things; like how to plant garlic, make apple cider vinegar, manage a forest with draft horses, become part of a community solar farm, save seeds, work with sheepdogs and so much more. We heard from three incredible keynote speakers - Leah Penniman, Barbara Damrosch and Winona LaDuke, shopped the Country Store and the Online Marketplace and viewed the wide array of community created content. Thanks to everyone who helped make this Fair possible and to all of the participants from near and far who joined us online to learn and connect. While the fair weekend may be over, the Fair will, in a way, continue on into the next year. The recorded livestream and community created content will be available on YouTube and the Fair website for up to a year and youll be able to shop the Online Marketplace and all your favorite vendors until January 8, 2021. Our Lavender Bloom this year was amazing!! So our harvest has been extra hard to get done. As most of you know, it is just Steve and I that run the farm and while I have been harvesting, Steve has been distilling oil. It seems endless this year and we have been working very long days to complete. We have a lot done but much more to finish. Therefore, we have decided to close the farm for this weekend so that we can finish our work and in turn provide you with lovely lavender and oil for the year to come. Our facility is located on our 160 acre farm in rural Coffee County, Ino, AL. It offers a full kitchen (the kitchen has a double stainless steel sink, cooler, food warmer, microwave, ice maker and a stove w/a double oven), multiple station dressing room, bathroom and large open space with tables and chairs for 100 are provided, more can be added at an additional cost...this is included in the main building which is heated and cooled. There are two bathrooms (men & women) located in grain bins to the side of the outer barn. 26 assorted sizes of church pews are available for you to use also. There is another grain bin that has been used as a dressing area for the guys, sitting area or the wedding cake area. The venue is planted in a large grassy yard with lots of usable outdoor space.
