The Taconic Hotel was named as a nod to the Taconic Range, a piece of the Application Mountains that weaves through eastern New York, western Vermont, down to Massachusetts and even into Connecticut. Fun fact, our neighbor Mount Equinox, visable from our adirondack chairs on the Green, or from some of our Premier King rooms, is the highest peak within the Taconic Range clocking in at 3,850 feet. - Back in Feb, I posted here that we were making an offer on 8.35 acres. Well, yesterday, it officially became OURS! Today we found out that the creek and the pond were thought were dried up weren’t dried up at all! We have a clear flowing creek through the very back corner on the property!

Positivity, to me, is being optimistic while being grounded. It’s the mindset that you know there will be difficult times, and you are confident and positive that you will ride and conquer those waves 🌊 and be a warrior. . It’s also letting yourself experience all ranges of emotions. There’s this “put on your big girl pants and get thru it” attitude that can actually be harmful. We can’t ignore the sadness, frustration,or grief - we have to acknowledge it. Cry, be sad, process those feelings - and then move on, knowing that you are strong and this too will pass. . Because when you stuff your feelings down, they manifest themselves in other ways - thru your physical and mental health. Conversely, when you wallow in those emotions too long, you become stuck and don’t live your best life. . Know that you have control over yourself, your thoughts, your attitude, and your actions. - Sequoia National Park last July. This is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. We hiked to up to a lake, but on the way down we ran into this wall of stone that jutted out into no where. Does anyone ever walk out into one of these?
