We are mourning the recent death of civil rights activist and Congressman John Lewis. Over the course of decades, he tirelessly dedicated himself to public service in many forms: protests, policy advocacy, elected office and more. He saw firsthand the real world suffering and violence caused by systemic racism and refused to accept it, and the renewed attention Black Lives Matter is getting reminds us that his work is not complete and is under attack. As we grieve and reflect on his work, we can and should look to his passion and moral clarity- and how effective it was we continue our own advocacy. We have a future to win.
