What I DID want was to be able to work doing something that didn’t FEEL like work! Something where I could call the shots and make my own hours. Something that if I invested time, effort, diligence and consistency....I’d be able to do other things too when I decided to! Instrument Rated! ✈️☁️. . So I basically got everything I could.. Private Pilot’s License, Commercial Single Engine Land, Commercial Single Engine Sea, Tailwheel endorsement, Aerobatic training, an F-35 slot with the Air Force and even Covid-19... before getting my IR 🙈. . I took my written almost two years ago, but flying cool things like Stearman and doing pilots n paws missions and putting everything I had into getting a pilot slot always took precedence. Well.. I finally ran out of excuses and DID THE THING. . I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud of achieving a rating. @matthewclarkpeterson and @ashlyntori can attest to watching me hibernate in my study corner for hours on end. SO many of you kept pushing and prodding me and asking me over the past two years if I had my instrument yet..so honestly I feel like we all got this rating together 😂. . I could thank so many people individually for taking the time to encourage me and answer my questions and send me materials and send me questions to answer.. you all know who you are ❤️. . And then there’s of course my amazing CFII @pilot_hendo .He knows how long, how hard and how stressed I was for this rating more than anyone and I couldn’t have done it without him. We’ve gone on so many flying adventures together.. and he’s been that one voice telling me to get my instrument for the past two years. We’ve had fun times in the plane, stressful times and definitely sassy times but I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor or friend. We’ve been through it all and he always believed I could and gave me the time and resources to help me be as prepared as I was for this checkride. So shout out to you man. Thanks for answering my random instrument questions at all hours of the night, for instilling in me the importance of memorizing regs and for letting me take my foggles off when the f-35s flew by 😂🙈 we had a goal and we freaking crushed it and I’m forever grateful to you 🤙🏼✈️. . First of all, wow- thank you for the outpouring of love and support, we never dreamed we’d reach so many people. We really appreciate everyone reaching out to us about this unfortunate situation. We’re shocked at how much support we’ve gotten and are truly grateful by everyone’s offers and well wishes. We are humbled at how quickly people were willing to offer assistance. These are very kind offers, however we are really just looking for information and awareness, not for money or donations. We have never been people to accept charity, and especially not in the condition our world is in right now. So many people have lost their jobs, had hours cut back, and are struggling with the effects of COVID-19 that we could never consider accepting money. Both Sid and his son Chris are licensed A&P IA mechanics, so they are able to fix this damage over time. Sid will rebuild the flight controls that were wrecked, but it is a major set back. As most of you know I started a new flying job earlier this month. A lot of people have been asking me about it and I didn’t want to blast it everywhere on social media until I properly parted ways with my previous employers. Now that everything is all squared away I can. My new job is flight instructing for @kpnsair a new flight school in my home town of Pensacola. I’m going to miss flying for LA Tech, but at the same time my departure opens up opportunity for my fellow classmates graduating behind me to find a job in these hard times. It’s no shiny jet job, but after 5 months of not touching a plane I’m more than grateful for the opportunity to be able to fly, especially with the awesome team we have here. Сегодня расскажем о нашем коллеге - настоящем драг-рейсере, который нашел место в своем сердце не только авиации, но и автоспорту. ⠀ Александр Рапоцевич, начальник Цеха №1 периодического ТО ВС на новосибирской базе S7 Technics, в свободное время увлекается drag racing – гонками на ускорение по прямой трассе. ⠀ Александр выступает на профессионально подготовленном снаряде, внешне похожим на ВАЗ-2114. В машине все модифицировано под гонки: кузов из композитных материалов, двигатель OPEL С20ХЕ с турбокомпрессором, доработанная КПП от Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Его ближайшая цель – «разбить» 10 секунд на квотере на переднем приводе, т.е. проехать 402 м быстрее 10 секунд. ⠀ – Свой первый заезд не забуду никогда. Это был старт на Кубке губернатора Новосибирской области 2008. Опыта у меня не было совсем и техника была другая – городской автомобиль мощностью 250-270 л.с. (сейчас 1000+ л.с.). И в первом заезде я проехал финиш (402 м от старта), не заметив его. Просто не понял, что это он, от нахлынувших эмоций. Продолжал разгоняться все больше и больше. И только увидев впереди ограждения и бегущих навстречу людей, которые активно размахивали руками, я понял, что что-то случилось. Остановился я только метров через 800 и вынес урок на всю жизнь: волнение волнением, а голова всегда должна быть ясная. ⠀ В процессе подготовки машины к старту и во время гонки, нет возможности сдаться. Пройти годовой цикл подготовки и сойти с дистанции по причине технического схода – непозволительная роскошь. Поэтому команда Александра всегда борется до конца, порой делая огромный объем работ за кратчайшие сроки. ⠀ – В прошлом сезоне мы выиграли квалификацию и у нас вышел из строя двигатель. Ночью между двумя днями гоночного уикенда мы перебрали мотор в полевых условиях. Днем, когда мы выехали на старт и выиграли гонку, многие не могли поверить, что такое возможно. Всегда стараюсь находить выход из любых ситуаций, просто опустить руки и сказать, что что-то невозможно, считаю неделовым подходом. ⠀ Александр живет с девизом: «Будь лучше», который подходит под все жизненные ситуации, ведь человек должен быть настойчив на пути к своим целям. Сегодня хотим поделиться с вами приятным пятничным настроением и окунуться в романтику ламповой музыки. ⠀ Игорь Кроман – инженер по неразрушающему контролю на участке Диагностики (NDT department) новосибирской площадки S7 Technics. В его обязанности входит поиск дефектов в различных узлах и компонентах самолетов и двигателей. В свободное от работы время Игорь Владимирович тоже ищет и исправляет дефекты, восстанавливая советскую аудиотехнику. И она обретает вторую жизнь! ⠀ Наш герой начал увлекаться аудиоаппаратурой еще в школьные годы и сегодня его коллекция насчитывает более 300 различных экземпляров аудио техники. ⠀ Изначально я не планировал собирать коллекцию, просто любил восстанавливать случайно попавшие в мои руки аппараты. Мне нравилось «оживлять» не подающий признаков жизни прибор и потом радоваться тому, что у меня получилось дать технике вторую жизнь, - рассказывает Игорь Владимирович. ⠀ Самый ценный экземпляр его коллекции - ламповая радиола «Ригонда-Стерео» 1965 г., с ее оригинальными акустическими системами, которые в те времена назывались «Звуковой агрегат». ⠀ Сейчас Игорь Кроман рассматривает возможность презентации своих экспонатов в Новосибирском музее-галерее ретротехники.
