Next up is the prolific @carlosribeiro91!⠀ ⠀ #CarlosRibeiro started skating in his hometown in Brazil when he was eight and by the time he was 12, he knew he wanted to be a pro skater. His parents believed in him so much that when he was 16, they let him drop out of school and go to #Barcelona to try his luck. Three years later, he came to the U.S. and met #SLSPro @prod—who began flowing him boards. When Rodriguez launched @PrimitiveSkate in 2014, Ribeiro was one of two skaters chosen to be on the team. The following year he turned Pro after dropping two heavy video parts – one for #Primitive and one for #LRG’s 1947 video. In 2016, he qualified into #SLS with a 2nd place finish at #TampaPro and went on to finish 7th in #Munich and 5th in New Jersey. After a strong rookie year, Carlos continued his great skating in 2017. He had his highest finish ever, taking 3rd in Munich, sending him to his first ever World Championship, where he took 5th. This year was my seventh Central Massachusetts Skate Festival, and unfortunately the last one to ever happen. I’ve met COUNTLESS friends who I’ll have for the rest of my life through this one magical weekend every year. My first @centralmassskatefestival attendance was when I was fresh out of the 8th grade, and 7 years later I’m still going back. This is a OG beginner longboard trick from Adam Colton back in 2008. Adam’s goofy style and trick tips inspired me a lot when I first started riding in Middle School. One of the best parts about this trick is that you can do it on any board! (SWIPE FOR GOOFY VERSION) ⠀ 1️⃣ Jump 90º frontside and land with your front foot in the center of the board. 2️⃣ Jump 90º into your switch stance. 3️⃣ Jump 90º and land with your front foot in the middle of the board but backwards. This is by far the most difficult part of the trick. The key to mastering this step is keeping your chest up and your knees bent. 4️⃣ Jump 90º and land back in your normal stance. O Pará não para de me surpreender positivamente! Foi um final de semana intenso no sentido literal da palavra, e pude perceber mais uma vez que, o Pará é um estado que se consolidou na cena do Longboard. Sábado duas sessões em ladeiras diferentes, ambas em Castanhal, no domingo cedo sessão na pista do Marex, em seguida fomos pra ladeira do Cristal, e não deu nem tempo de secar o suor já estávamos na Dinos skatepark em Ananindeua, onde também tem uma cervejaria (com cerveja artesanal @anani.beer ) e uma hamburgueria, isso só pra resumir. Rolaram muitas conversas, muitas histórias, muitas risadas e todos sem exceção com um único pensamento, continuar trabalhando para o crescimento da cena do Norte, e do Brasil.
