My text ‘And Then You Can Post-Rationalize. (Pause.)’ is an assemblage of sentences from interviews with, and texts about Virgin Abloh, who uses the principle of quoting, editing and copying as a design approach himself. At the end of the summer of 2019, Hanka van der Voet and eventually also others, started documenting people wearing Off-White they encountered in the streets. Starting off as an obsession with collecting these images, this project quickly turned into a fascination with Off-White designer Virgil Abloh, the immense popularity of his brand, and the lack of contextualisation the mainstream fashion media was providing for this phenomenon. OKAY HI DISCUSSION NOW. Let’s talk about ~second chances~. As some of you may know, I am a Zumba Instructor so I come up with my own content and lead classes. Following workout videos is difficult for me because I am so used to instructing. I tried @jabscommunity on June 30th and was put in the wrong class. I left after 5 minutes because I didn’t think it was for me. The following day, I was sent the correct Zoom link, tried again, and then left again within 10 minutes. I seriously didn’t understand the hype. I saw so many people I follow on this account talk so highly of it, and that’s when I knew I needed to try again. GIVE THINGS SECOND CHANCES. Today, July 27th, I tried @jabsbygina again and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I could have easily left this class again in 5 minutes, but you can’t give a workout a try until you finish the whole workout. @jabsbygina you killed me, pushed me, and inspired me, and I am so beyond thankful to be apart of this amazing community.
