El balcón del Cabildo En mi posteo anterior había comentado sobre la historia del balcón mas famoso del país, el de la Casa Rosada Pero también hay otro balcón famoso y que paso un poco al olvido, y es el del Cabildo de Buenos Aires. Los Cabildos eran instituciones de la época colonial que administraban las ciudades. Allí estaban los gobernantes, jueces, las cárceles, se guardaba el dinero y otros organismos. Por eso eran el edificio publico más importantes de las ciudades. Muchas fiestas y celebraciones se realizaban frente al Cabildo o dentro de él. El Cabildo de Buenos Aires comienza a construirse en 1725 por los arquitectos jesuitas Primoli y Bianchi. Frente a el se realizaban las corridas de toros y el balcón era adornado para utilizarlo como palco de honor. Las autoridades españolas utilizaban el balcón y era tal el prestigio de ver las corridas desde ahí que ser invitado al balcón era todo un acontecimiento. El hecho histórico más destacado fue el realizado en la galería y balcón, el famoso Cabildo Abierto del 22 de mayo de 1810, que iniciaría todo el proceso revolucionario del 25 de mayo. Desde esa época, el balcón sufrió modificaciones y el Cabildo dejo de ser la administración de las ciudades. Solo quedaría como oficinas judiciales. El balcón volvió a su esplendor, cuando el 10 de diciembre de 1983, día en que Raul Alfonsin asumía la presidencia después de 6 años dictadura, eligiera el balcón del cabildo para dar su discurso al pueblo, al igual que lo hicieran los miembros de la Junta de Gobierno de 1810 ----- 1- Cabildo de Buenos Aires hoy 2- Pintura, representa un desfile de las milicias con el palco de honor en el cabildo aun en construcción. 3- Pintura, representa el 22 de mayo de 1810 en la galería del balcón 4- Fotografía de 1871, después que se hicieran modificaciones como agrandar la torre y cambiar la decoración, para alojar a la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación 5- Discurso de Alfonsin 6- El publico mirando al cabildo y a Alfonsin. 7- El cabildo, reconstruido en 1940 y su balcón decorado un 25 de mayo. #cabildo #balcon #plazademayo #historia #balconesdebuenosaires #grupoargxarg #arquitecturaporteña #arquitecturacolonial - @buenosairesguiada on Instagram
