When I played in the @nfl I was faced with a choice that had my conscious torn. Peacefully take a knee and express myself on police brutality against black people or remain silent. Unfortunately I remained silent out of fear of losing my job, it didn’t sit right with my soul. Not because I didn’t want to support my frat brother @kaepernick7 ,the movement and what it stood for, but because I knew it was a high chance I could get black balled out of the league, especially since I wasn’t a superstar. Playing ball since I was 9 with aspirations of playing in the NFL, then finally making it to the league and being faced with the likelihood of being scrutinized and banned for standing up for something I believe in. Those where my thoughts and many other players thoughts having this feeling of helplessness. 25 year old young black man being faced with the pressures of conforming or confronting the situation.
