Most of you know the history behind this page, but here’s a quick update since I’ve reappeared. After my daughter was born in 2015, I decided to start up a “small shop” to supplement our family’s income and keep me busy. I was very successful and loved what I did. As time went by, I found myself picking up more design projects, went back to work nearly full time, and the time I used to have to run the shop just wasn’t there anymore. The bows required a lot of time for little profit, and I just couldn’t maintain that anymore. One thing the shop provided me with was a much needed creative outlet, and I had started to dabble in designing my own fabric prints for bows. I’m happy to say that 4 years later, I have been very successful in creating a name for myself designing custom, seamless designs used for printing fabrics and textiles. I’m so excited to share them with you here and continue to grow this brand. What an absolutely gorgeous day today. I was supposed to be away this weekend but plans changed and I took a last minute Motherhood session by the lake this evening! These sunsets never get old! As the days get shorter our shoot times will get earlier which bodes well for the littles. Then I added a subtle bokeh overlay at a low opacity as well. Voila... weird portrait! Groupthink Music Video BTS SNEAKY SECRETS! All images except the last one are by Belen Garcia (@mabelengg) 1. Playground scene that didn’t make the cut. This was at 6am but I was very happy. 2. Before moving locations, Belen shot some stills of us in the marshiness while the crew got set up. I like this one but it never got used for anything. So here it is!! 3. Crossing my arms AGAIN. I need to find a better waiting position that is less rude. 4. We called this dance move the West Side Story. 5. There was a basketball scene?! Didn’t make it in. I ran around and “intentionally” missed the hoop over and over again. 6. During this scene, Mayumi played Crazy in Love by Beyoncé so that we could channel some hot fire. Ha! I did actually feel pretty hot. But I also found it very humorous because my song is nothing like Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. 7. Changing some choreo on the day of because I am a monster. 8. The beloved shopping cart scene. The first few takes I was pretty stoic and calm and then Mayumi asked for us to have the time of our lives. So what made it in was me pretending that I was in labour and needed to get rushed to the hospital, while simultaneously yelling “GET THEE TO A NUNNERY!” Upon reflection, i have questions about what I deem to be having the time of my life. 9. Ok this is a BIG secret so if you made it this far you are in for a spoiler treat! This is not my hand! It was so windy and I am also not great with lighters. I tried a few takes and couldn’t get the flame to hold, then Luna tried to no success, and finally, Belen nailed it. Belen was wearing long sleeves (rightfully so, it was very cold) and I remember saying “your sleeves! your sleeves!” Because I was wearing a tee shirt and if she didn’t roll hers up, it would be clear it wasn’t my hand. The two flickers of flames was a happy accident due to the wind, because it lines up so perfectly with the BG vocals that Nach so delicately edited. I love that part. Hope you enjoyed these secrets. 🎗September is pediatric cancer awareness month.🎗Today, 43 children will be diagnosed with cancer and sadly 7 children will die from this disease. 💛The causes of childhood cancer are unknown and can not be prevented. 💛Due to lack of research, some pediatric cancers have a zero percent survival rate, either at diagnosis or recurrence. 💛All 16 different childhood cancers receive 4% of the national cancer institute’s nearly $5 billion dollar budget while other cancers receive much more. ⁠⠀ When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected and we want them to know they are not alone in this journey. Для нас сейчас это очень актуальная тема. 😂😂😂 ⠀ На самом деле, я немного поменяла своё мнение по поводу школьного образования. ⠀ Раньше мне казалось, что очень важно и нужно дать ребёнку хорошую базу знаний с первых классов. Поэтому я искала для сына школу с сильной программой ( многие американские школы в начальных классах обучают детей достаточно поверхностно в силу их возраста). Только сейчас я начинаю понимать почему. ⠀ Школа в которой сейчас занимается Даня очень хорошая. Помимо основной программы они изучают русский/украинский языки на выбор, прописи и многое другое. Но сейчас у меня есть диагноз и я знаю, что пятерых у меня не будет, но третьего я хочу) ⠀ После одного интервью, где я была максимально честной и откровенной на меня обрушилось такое количество негатива куда вам ещё рожать с вашим-то здоровьем? Кто будет их поднимать на ноги? И со стороны я их, конечно, понимаю, но не нужно судить, пока вы не оказались, не дай Бог, в такой ситуации! ⠀ Да, у меня есть двое детей! Да, я могла бы закрыть этот вопрос! Но я понимаю, что не реализовалась как мама, что у меня есть силы и потенциал на третьего ребенка, понимаю, что я обожаю беременное состояние и хочу еще раз пройти через это все. Да, врачи говорят нельзя! Но врачи многим говорят нельзя! И много что говорят. Мне вообще говорили, что к 40 буду как скрюченная бабушка, до 40 не так много, а я все только расцветаю😜 Да, остеопороз! Да, перелом позвоночника! Но может этот остеопороз у меня уже до детей был?! ⠀ И я взрослый человек, и, конечно, понимаю все риски, всю ответственность. И да, я готова, рискнуть! ⠀ Не спешите осуждать людей! Вы никогда не поймёте человека, пока не окажетесь в подобной ситуации. ⠀ Я смотрю на себя в зеркало и наслаждаюсь! В Ы Д Е Р Ж К А 📸 #подолянпрофото ⠀ Количество света, падающее на матрицу камеры зависит от размера диафрагмы объектива, и промежутка времени, в течение которого свет поступает на матрицу. Этот промежуток времени называется — временем экспозиции, регулируемым путем изменения скорости затвора – то есть параметра выдержки при настройке фотоаппарата. ⠀ 📸 В фотоаппарате обозначается следующем образом, 1/4 последняя цифра означает время в течении которого поступает свет на изображение. Одна четвертая секунды (1/4), одна секунда обозначается (1), а одна восьмитысячная (1/8000), чем больше значение, тем меньше времени на изображение попадает свет. ⠀ ❗При съемки без штатива не рекомендуется делать выдержку короче чем 1/60, так как можно получить эффект шевеленки (смазанной, не четкой фотографии). При съемке с рук необходимую выдержку, при которой не будет смаза, можно расчитать как 1/х, где х - фокусное расстояние вашего объектива. ⠀ 🔸Если вы снимаете детей или в движении (динамики), а может у вас съемка с животными. The girls rescued this butterfly from the lake. They nurtured it, talked to it, and blew on it for a good 10 minutes before it “passed on” as Leah put it. The loss was hard for Maddie. She cried while we talked about butterflies and their short and magical life. This was before quarantine. I miss outside. Incorporate things that are important to your life. Whether it be your pup, roller blades, or your favorite candy, there are SO many things we can add into your shoot to make it unique to you! 2. Dress like you normally do. Are you a sweat shirt and jeans kind of person? YAS lets embrace that! You want your senior photos to be a representation of how you are right now, and if comfort is your priority, throw on your fave oversized tshirt and grab some photos with your pup in your back yard. 3. Get creative. Have an influencer or movie star that really inspires you? Lets use some of their photos for inspiration! Happiest of birthdays to the one who made me a Mama 9 years ago. I remember holding her in my arms one night in her nursery after her bath and pajamas. I rocked her and kissed her face all while crying and prayerfully thanking God for this overwhelming love and joy that I felt for her. I knew right then that what I felt for her was a gift from God - and a reminder from Him of how much He also loves me. Birthdays seem a little bit more meaningful and precious now more than ever. The reality that I’m not promised their next one squeezes tight in my chest and often tries to steal my joy. What a gift she is. I could go on and on about how off the charts she is in all the things - beauty, academics, maturity, responsibility. The things that we tend to be so proud of our children about. But really, what I am and should be most proud of is her heart and soul. Her tender heart that loves and wants to nurture everything. Her zeal for God and the want that she has to please Him at such a young age amazes me. I often cry during my prayer time thanking God for Addie because of the help that she gives me spiritually. She holds me accountable in my Christian walk. She uplifts and encourages me every single day. As tempting as it is as parents to want to make sure our kids fit in with the cool crowd, are the most popular, have the best (*whatever*), are the smartest, are the most successful - these things won’t matter when this life is over. Did we prepare them for eternity? Did we teach them of Him? Did we lead by example? I pray everyday that Kaleb and I use this time to “teach them diligently” and that we seek first the Kingdom of God. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected and we want them to know they are not alone in this journey. To show our love and support for the many families affected by childhood cancer we are turning Instagram GOLD this September with the support of many hubs, The Gold Hope Project, and the #teamup4goldkidsloop. What a truly magical place for a wedding. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rebecca said she really wanted a venue with a lake so we could have a little boat full of flowers. 🎗On December 4th, 2011 my daughter Ava was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called #dipg. DIPG is terminal upon diagnosis and one of the most devastating brain tumor diagnosis for a child. There is no cure and all children who receive this diagnosis will pass away within two years. ⠀ ⠀ We were told she would have roughly 9-12 more months with us. Shock, disbelief and hopelessness filled those first few weeks.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ But Avas spirit was truly one of strength. She constantly made me laugh, even when all I wanted to do was cry. It was because of her love and courage that I was able to spend her last few months enjoying simple moments with her and making her dreams come true. It was because of her that I was able to have HOPE. Im so grateful for the memories we made during that time together. ⠀ ⠀ I still have HOPE that one day there will be a treatment for kids with dipg. That it will no longer be the devastating diagnosis that it is today. Thank you for going gold this month and sharing awareness. Good morning! I don’t know if anyone can relate but I am not following a set preschool curriculum right now for Mae. We do lots of nature walks and we have lots of work books to complete but we have been working on those less and less as we get further into September. Pj’s and sunsets Because getting my kids to change out of their pajamas (even in the summer) is like pulling teeth! This is one of those pictures that in the moment of taking it, I had no idea how much it was going to mean to me later down the road. I took this last summer (at the house we just moved from) and I miss that view; sitting on the porch watching the sunset, while the girls would swing and giggle until the fireflies came out. I’m so glad to have captured this memory. ☺️ On a side note, can you believe I took this picture last summer and I’m just now getting to edit it?? Anyone else guilty of taking a bunch of pictures and then totally forgetting about them after you’ve downloaded them? Вот мы и выросли🧡🧡🧡 ⠀ Совсем недавно мы выбирали имя дочери, но она настолько характерная, что имя выбрала сама, да да вы не ослышались, сама будуче в животе. ⠀ А теперь она пошла в школу, какой её будет путь? Как она будет учиться?, все это сложно для родителей и волнительно, но я хочу чтобы она выросла самостоятельной. ⠀ Уже сейчас мы видим, что она взрослеет, что у неё свои желания, вот к примеру сегодня, нравиться сапоги, крутые шорты, топик как я люблю, НО, что это за хвост и как ты мама додумалась такое сделать. 🤦🏼‍♀️ По дороге увидели лошадей, так вот я с лошадьми буду делать фотосессию, а с вашими яблоками делайте сами 🤦🏼‍♀️ 15 минут уговаривали и пообещали ей лошадей. LEAF SHADOW DRAWING 🍃🌞 We did this last week on a sunny afternoon. I pegged the leaves up on some string between two chairs and Miss 4 carefully drew around the shadows. It was a great fine motor challenge for her and good for concentration and observational skills.
