Eu tive rompimento da bolsa (perda de líquido) com 14 semanas de gravidez. A médica que me atendeu disse que o bebê não tinha chances e que faria um aborto. Caso contrario, eu arriscaria perder meu útero por infecção se seguisse com aquela gravidez. Decidi arriscar e lutar até quando houvesse vida! Fiquei 3 meses internada e cada segundo era uma conquista! Com 28 semanas(6 meses e meio) entrei em trabalho de parto. O médico da emergência me examinou e não se responsabilizou, mesmo estando em estado avançado de trabalho de parto, resolveram esperar outra média. Eu desesperada dizia que não havia mais tempo de esperar a “outra médica chegar”. (O bebê deveria nascer de parto cesárea pelo risco e prematuridade). Logo quando a médica chegou pediu para todos correr que o bebê estava vindo. E porque que as coisas não estavam prontas ainda? Foi tanto desespero me vestem me colocam na maca, espera elevador, desce..., quando eu descia eu sentia a pressão do bebê que nascendo e eu ia segurando, mesmo com muita dor, tentando não fazer força, Do contrario fazia força para segurar ele, pois ele não podia nascer ali. Sentia uns estralos dentro de mim. Ainda foram preparar a sala de cirurgia (serio isso?) Eu gritava: “não da tempo!!!” Uma enfermeira chegou junto e disse: “Não grita! Não vai ajudar com a dor” Eu gritei e disse: “Não é a dor física”. Cada minuto ali pareceram uma eternidade... Me colocaram na sala de cirurgia: “Não dá tempo, não”! “Já esta coroando....” Pensei que nasceria ele ali mesmo....não!!!! Ainda Me transferiram daquela sala para sala de parto normal. Entre os movimentos da cama para maca eu sentia ele descendo e a pressão de expulsão e eu o segurava dentro de mim. Na sala do parto normal e quando levantei as pernas ele saiu escorregando, nascendo sentado nas mãos da médica (ahhhh inclusive essa foi a mesma médica la no início dá minha internação que não me deu esperança. • Ele passou por 2 cirurgias. Ele foi muito guerreiro, batalhou cada segundo, alma gigante. It is so important to work on the relationship you have with yourself! You HAVE TO be your own best friend. If you have goals you want to achieve you have to be your own cheerleader, it’s the only way to avoid self sabotage and disappointment. Stop looking at new generic diets for the answer. The answer is investing into yourself so you can achieve your goals. One thing I love teaching is the monkey mind and how our animal brain can hijack our human brain. Being MENTALLY STRONG does not pushing yourself past exhaustion on a 1200 calorie diet. No no sister, being mentally strong is knowing how to have thoughts and not reacting to them. Let’s get real for a second. Our “nation of immigrants” came from white people who fled oppression and tyranny, stormed a land that was already occupied, murdered and raped millions of the people who lived there, and then kidnapped millions of black and brown people and enslaved them. So many of our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents came to America to pursue the “American Dream.” We well up with pride when we talk about how our families came here with nothing but the clothes on their backs, worked hard at jobs that other people wouldn’t do, all for the chance to give their children (us) a better life. . Why are so many of us thankful for our ancestors struggles and all that they did, but are somehow okay with how immigrants are treated now? . ICE is FORCING women to have hysterectomies. Kids and families are separated and put in cages with no medical care and no hope. What if this was your family’s story? Many of us wouldn’t be here. . ICE and the Trump administration clearly have no care for human life. They have proved this time and time again. A 58-year-old male person was admitted to the Emergency Clinical Hospital Bucharest, approximately 7 hours after a traumatic injury of the left leg amputated by the blade of an electric saw. Replantation surgery of the left leg was performed under general anesthesia with ischemic time lasting 9 hours up to the arterial anastomosis. Metallic osteosynthesis and suture of the blood vessels, nerves and tendons were performed. An update on our sweet Missy 🐾 We found this sweet girl in Sonoyta and brought her to our free clinic in Mexico. She was hairless and covered in bugs, scabs, and sores. She was in very poor condition. She’s been getting baths, IV treatment, medicine, and lots of love. Look at her transforming into who she was always meant to be in a matter of weeks - that coat is coming in beautifully! Thats why were so excited to be hosting our first group of externs from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to learn all about Gigis! Last month Tsa, a fourth-year vet student with a Masters of Public Health, spent one of her two-week clinical rotations with our team learning about shelter medicine. She assisted with surgical and dental procedures, performed exams and biopsies, visited one of our rural Shelter Partners, created a simulator, and shared her own knowledge and experiences with our staff too. Today we honour a very special girl and another Nowzad charge who yesterday sadly, gained her wings 💫 In 2009 Kilo was named after the British Army unit that found her wandering as a pup on Camp Souter, an Army base in Helmand Province, southern Afghanistan. For the soldiers who took turns in looking out for Kilo she was their five minutes of normality and positive precious moments during a difficult and prolonged time away from family and friends. Kilo would sleep in their accommodation hidden from the powers that be as keeping a stray dog was clearly against the rules. When their tour of duty was up one of the female soldiers knew that Kilo would not survive on her own with the soldiers gone. Thankfully the soldier’s family in Stoke had heard of Nowzad and together we were able to bring Kilo to the UK and quarantine. It nearly all went wrong though, the day we organised to collect Kilo from the Army base to bring her to Kabul Kilo decided to hide. Thankfully though after a hastily put together search operation Kilo was safely transported to our clinic. Kilo and her dedicated UK family have been instrumental in bringing so many of the Nowzad Family together and have achieved, and continue to achieve so much to make a difference for all the dogs left behind. Here is the message from Kilo’s Facebook page: Good Morning dear friends, You may have noticed that I havent been around much lately, truth is I have been a bit poorly. I have had the best care as always from my friends Shires Vets Pets and my humans have been constantly with me. Yesterday, it all got a bit too hard, so I got a little help to gain my wings. To everyone who has followed my story, thank you. To everyone who helped me, the soldiers who befriended me and Nowzad, thank you. Four sniffer dogs have begun work at Helsinki airport in Finland, in a pilot scheme to identify Coronavirus.⠀ ⠀ Studies have shown that dogs have a nearly 100% success rate in detecting the virus, depending on the individual dog.⠀ ⠀ Miina, Kössi, Valo and E.T. have now been trained to provide a fast and cost-effective method for catching Covid-19 at the border.⠀ ⠀ After collecting their luggage, passengers are asked to take a swab of their neck and place it in a jar. ⚠️70-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at high-speed, sustained multiple injuries including injuries to her lungs and head. She also sustained a mangled injury to her right lower extremity with what’s considered a full degloving of the extremity and multiple fractures and neurovascular injuries. Patient was taken to the operating room immediately and managed by multiple trauma surgeons for her injuries. A high above knee amputation was done. Above-the-knee amputations may be necessary for many reasons. These can include trauma to the lower leg, which results in a non-viable leg at or near the level of the knee. Below-the-knee amputation may adequately address a more distal injury. Many studies have attempted to create algorithms to help physicians decide when to reconstruct versus amputate. One of these is the Mangled Extremity Severity Score (MESS), which takes into account skeletal/soft tissue injury, limb ischemia, shock, and patient age.
