We have word from the county that Hellyer County Park Playground is OPEN! The playground is being sanitized once each day. Hellyer County Park : San Jose One of our favorite parks to visit! 🦆 This park has everything! 178 acres with a lake, birds, picnic area, restrooms, loop trail around the lake, biking areas, off leash-dog parks, leashed dog walking, a splash pad and a parking lot. Hours: Year-round 8am-sunset Entry fee is $6.00 Large parking lot in front of the playground and near the lake. A note as of June 2020 “Overcrowding of parking lots and trails can cause temporary closures. This is a fluid situation designed to control the amount of vehicles and visitors at any given time. Turnover can happen fairly quickly as park staff monitors the flow of attendance. I always find it hard to post on here during my busy season.. which is probably why my last post was from June... but now that work is winding down a bit and editing is mostly caught up I’m taking time to share some of the personal work I’ve shot over the past months. I shared in my instagram story a little travel essay from a weekend at @soundviewgreenport. It’s a cozy little spot on the North Fork of Long Island. [STORY TIME] Finally back at home but mind is still here 😭 I want you guys to know Im writing a loooooong blog post with every single detail about my trip you guys asked for this week. But before I do I want to preface it with a story- months ago before booking this trip I was browsing through my Facebook timeline, going through all the memories Ive made over the years- and it dawned on me I spent the bulk of my adulthood thus far not happy at all, sitting on the sidelines watching all of my friends build their lives, create memories, sharing smiles & laughs with their friends & family- while I was either always working, or dealing a parade of emotional BS and toxicity that had spun far out control and was taking OVER my life. Now that I was finally in a position to start LIVING, what was I waiting for? Its been 6 years since the beginning of my self improvement journey: from becoming slowly aware of everything and everyone that no longer served me, to trying and failing over and over again to break the the cycle of allowing people to control my life, my emotions, my thoughts, my actions. Learning to create boundaries with people when I had never been taught that myself. Teaching myself not to feel guilty when I wanted to be loyal to myself, my truth. people talk about Glasgow or London or Brighton being the vegan capital of the UK, but I think NOTTINGHAM should be in the running as well ➖➖➖ There are vegan options at many places and a ton of vegan/vegan-friendly options crammed into the centre. At Aubreys Traditional Crêperie most of their crêpes and galettes can be made vegan. 😊 these were the Espresso crêpes with vanilla ice cream (I think Swedish glacé), salted caramel, and chocolate and they were SooOoOo good. Oh, hey there - many have asked, where’ve you been?!! Well... 1. I got on the last repatriation flight out of Costa Rica - with much unknown about when I’d be back - little did I know it would be more than 6 months. that I’d have to make the difficult decision to let my home go, that my friends would have to pack it up for me & store my things. No good-bye, no closure. It’s been heartbreaking. 2. My travel company came to a grinding “pause” with no idea when it will be re-started. Here’s hoping in March we will be heading to Botswana! I’m also highly aware, we may not. 3. My marketing company, of which all my clients are in tourism came to a grinding “pause”. 4. I came back to Canada after 6 years away & had to reactivate my residency, drivers license, Heath plan, etc, during a pandemic. 5. Instant cohabitation-with the love of my life - but an adjustment none the less. This introvert loves her alone time, I’ve had 6 hours to myself since March. Oh how that 14 day quarantine seems so gloriously inviting now. 6. Sold a house & packed it up. During a pandemic. 7. Moved to the cottage. 8. Bought a house one day before the pandemic 😬 & for quite some time did not even know if we’d be able to close. 9. Instant family 😬 instant bonus kids - instant bonus mothering. 🤪 during a pandemic. 10. I opened a new business - @gritandgraceclothing during a pandemic on a shoestring budget & renovated a building in 10 days. It took off, has been super successful & all consuming. 11. We closed on our new house, started renovations & moved in. 12. Had several melt downs, tons of challenges a lot of tears & a lot of growth. Needless to say I’ve not even had the chance to catch my breath, let alone reflect on everything. It’s all a blur. Now, I take much needed time off, to reflect, to breath, to get settled into our new home, & this new wonderful life. At the foundation of it all was love. We pulled together as a family, did what had to be done. Sacrificed a lot of time, but we understood. We needed to do it this summer, & we may need to grind this hard again in this lifetime together - but we know we can, we know we have each other. Now I exhale. - @pennylight on Instagram

Чтобы узнать, влияет ли спешка на поведение, одним студентам говорили, что им пора торопиться, так как у них в запасе всего несколько минут. Других уверяли, что торопиться не нужно. Для усиления эксперимента одной группе студентов поручили провести краткую беседу на тему библейского предания о добром самаритянине. Другой — что они будут говорить о процедуре проведения семинаров. Результаты эксперимента и выводы Всего лишь 10% из всех студентов, которые торопились, подошли к бедняге и постарались оказать ему помощь. Из тех студентов, кому не нужно было спешить, решили помочь уже 63%. Среди тех, кому поручили прочитать доклад о добром самаритянине оказалось в два раза больше готовых остановиться и помочь нуждающемуся, чем те, кому поручили прочитать лекцию о ведении семинаров. ⠀ На основании полученных результатов психологи сделали следующие выводы: 1) Поглощенность своими мыслями и спешка может привести к тому, что мы не замечаем очевидных вещей. 2) Истории о доброте и самопожертвовании других людей влияют на наше мировоззрение, и побуждают быть более чуткими к чужим страданиям. 3) Желание оказать помощь не зависит от религиозных убеждений, это осознанный выбор каждого человека. ⠀ Интересны вам такие исследования?🤔 - @liana_buvaltseva on Instagram

Domingo, finales de septiembre 2019. @aaalbaricoque me esperaba para ir a preparar un proyecto de diseño juntos, nunca he hablado y planeado tanto un proyecto sin hacer nada en absoluto. Nos arreglamos para darle más importancia a lo que hacíamos sintiendonos ejecutivos ocupadísimos,  y fuimos a una cafetería preciosa. Cafés de medio litro con chocolate y tarta guiness.  Nos reímos más que trabajamos pero tomamos algunos apuntes interesantes.  Acabamos paseando por el puerto y nos encontramos un mercadillo. Compré un pelador multiusos de teletienda que resultó ser una maravilla, aunque nunca hice los fideos de calabacín, su función estrella. Nos fuimos de cervezas y se nos acabó haciendo de noche. En la terraza vimos a un chico con el que había hablado en un bar unos findes atrás, él me había confesado que estaba buscando un buen sugar daddy ya que en esta ciudad hay muchos, creo que todavía no lo encontró. Cenamos sushi en un restaurante de cuatro mesas y estábamos solos. Vino un chico a recoger un pedido para llevar y se quedo media hora ligando con la camarera. Nos acordamos de que al día siguiente trabajabamos y nos tuvimos que ir, no se si el repartidor consiguió el número de la camarera, espero que si. It’s been a while since I’ve show my face here. Quarantine life hasn’t been kind to me. My daily routine of going to hot yoga went away and I’ve felt it. These shorts I’m wearing in this photo don’t fit at all and I can say that for most of my clothes. Aside from that, I’m managing and I know nothing is permanent. Here’s the 4 places I slept when I went to the Netherlands🇳🇱 • The first night was raining and I couldn’t hammock on the roof, so I found some pillows and slept in a toilet on the 11th floor, tied the door shut so nobody could get in. • The second night I slept in my hammock on the balcony of a football club 2 minute walk away from the climbing wall which I free solo’d a day later, I woke up late and had to be quiet because there was kids playing football right next to me. • The third night I slept behind a vending machine in the uni study room I’d been chilling and editing in for a lot of hours the same day, the reason for this is because nobody would see me if anyone came in, and I wouldn’t be caught and have to find somewhere else to sleep at stupid times in the morning, there was also a camera in there which I had to avoid so it was perfect, much comfier than it seems. • The fourth and final night I hammocked up on the roof I slept in the toilet of, it wasn’t raining when I set my hammock up but it was very lightly raining when I woke up and it was honestly relaxing as fuck, definitely not a bad thing. - @more.nuisance on Instagram

Quase todos os objetos de decoração ficaram guardados, só um espelho eu coloquei, talvez essa parte fosse a única que eu literalmente me enxergava nesse quarto. Mas demorou, viu? The Foundations - Colour If you want to create fabulous easy style, colour is critical to master. There are many different ways to build your own personal colour palette. The 2020 @Gucci Guilty Campaign⁠ shows you 1 approach and 2 palettes. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ The approach, @lanadelreys and @jaredletos looks each apply the concept of an analogues colour palette (neighbouring colours on the colour wheel). ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Lanas look is green with blue and Jareds look is pink with purple. Om jag visste vad jag behövde förändra? Svar: nej! Om jag visste att jag behövde förändra något? Svar: nej! . När jag blev sjukskriven för stress började jag väl så smått förstå att jag behövde ändra något i livet för att må bättre... Men vad? Det fanns ju inte mer tid på dygnet? Jag hade heltidsjobb som chef, tre små barn, ett hus vi renoverade och utöver det en vardag att ”få ihop”. Så hur kunde jag förändra det till en mer hållbar livsstil för mig själv? . Jag kommer ihåg att jag ett par dagar efter mitt läkarbesök pratade om att jag ”bara behövde vila någon vecka” sen skulle jag vara tillbaka på jobbet igen! Trodde då alltså att jag kunde köra på ”som vanligt” igen utan någon förändring och ändå förvänta mig att allt skulle funka! Vilket det SÅKLART inte skulle göra. . Det var inte förrän jag blev ordinerad vila och återhämtning (nej jag visste inte vad återhämtning var eller innebar) som jag förstod att jag behövde göra en förändring, jag behövde börja prioritera mig själv. . Jag behövde alltså hjälp, vägledning och stöttning i att se HUR och VAD jag behövde förändra för att mitt liv skulle bli mer hållbart för både mig och min familj. . Det är alltså inte alltid självklart VAD som behövs förändras men jag tror vi alla kan känna känslan av att ”något” behöver göras... och det är DÄR du kan börja! . Så idag blir min uppgift till dig; beskriv för dig själv (eller här eller i ett DM till mig) hur det känns precis just nu. Rakt upp och ner. Hur känns vardagen just precis idag, denna onsdag i september! . Imorgon ska jag nämligen dela med mig av en övning som jag själv gjorde i början på min resa, som VERKLIGEN gav mig perspektiv 🧡 . Travel Tips & Inspiration For Future Travel by Hana @hanas.travel.journal⁠ ⁠ Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto is one of Japan’s top sights for a good reason. This place is like from another world. Thick green bamboo stems seem to continue endlessly up to the sky and theres a strange quality of light peaking through the forest, which makes it very atmospheric.⁠ There are many means of transport how to get to the bamboo forest from Kyoto. The easiest one is probably taking the purple San-In line from Kyoto station or hopping on one of the city buses.⁠ ⁠ The forest is open 24/7 and the entrance is free so I would advise you to come as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Tourists tend to visit the forest only and then head back to Kyoto but the town of Arashiyama is very charming of its own and you can spend here the whole day exploring its picturesque sites for a little ‘off-the-beaten-path’ experience.⁠ ⁠ My favorite places in Arashiyama, besides the bamboo grove, are:⁠ ⁠ • Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple – mysterious Buddhist temple featuring over thousand stone heads on its grounds,⁠ • Saga Toriimoto street – well-preserved street with traditional townhouses,⁠ • Giouji Temple – has a beautiful garden all covered in moss,⁠ • Arashiyama Park with observation deck that will give you amazing views over Kyoto,⁠ • Tenryuji Temple – this temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it features picturesque Zen garden and multiple teahouses,⁠ • Katsura River and Nakanoshima island – you can hire a boat and enjoy the tranquil surroundings,⁠ • Kimono Forest – fun little “forest” at the tram station featuring colorful pillars covered in traditional fabrics for making kimonos.⁠ Arashiyama is not too big but it has a lot to offer. Cuarentena recargada, confusión, bronca, hastío, e incertidumbre se hacen parte de uno. Surge la pregunta, qué cambió de esa cuarentena que emergía ese 18 de marzo, que hasta la veíamos con cierto grado de romanticismo. Había unidad, consenso y tirábamos la gran mayoría para el mismo lado, nos uníamos después de mucho tiempo en pos de lo que la gran mayoría pensaba, aplaudíamos, cantábamos y tocábamos música en los balcones. Nada era claro, pero sí el que nos teníamos que encolumnar detrás de quienes tenían el poder de turno, confiábamos en que si nos recluíamos un tiempo para que se acomoden las cosas, para poder hacer un cambio profundo, íbamos a salir fortalecidos de esta crisis. Pero los días empezaron a correr y no sabemos vivir sin caos. Hablábamos de que la cuarentena venía para unirnos, punto seguido hablábamos de “los otros”, empezamos a repartir culpas, volvimos a despreciar al que se atrevía a disentir, al revanchismo, al “los otros son los culpables”. Empezó a brotar esa hipocresía generada por una obsecuencia fanática, por intereses egoístas, por miedo, por falta de autenticidad. Cuánta energía perdemos peleando con el otro, con el “ENEMIGO”, pensando que lo podemos cambiar. Nos volvemos fanáticos de una idea, de algo, de alguien o nos convertimos en odiadores de una idea, de algo, o lo más triste, de alguien. Generamos separación, violencia, odio, resentimiento, con la excusa de lo que para nosotros es una buena causa. Nos llenamos de miedo y actuamos desde ese lugar. Buscamos que el otro sufra, que se dé cuenta, que haga lo que queremos. Buscamos controlar y dominar al otro. Pensamientos que tienen como destino la autodestrucción. Qué pasa si tomamos lo que nos molesta del otro como agente de cambio, qué pasa si lo que nos irrita del otro está espejando algo nuestro que no vemos… Qué pasa si dejamos el papel de víctima, de sufrimiento...
