This special day is often marked by large group volunteer projects in public lands all over the country and although this day looks a little different this year, it is still a date worth noting in our parks. We recognize on this and every day that we have a lot to be thankful for and wanted to share an example of the good work being done to preserve this special place this season. This summer, an all-female youth crew, in partnership with Conversation Corps North Carolina (CCNC), worked in the Linville Falls area on trail restoration and preservation. This awesome crew accomplished a lot during their season, including this before and after of their root coverage work. In covering these sections and creating a smooth tread surface, they have transformed this trail into a safer and more accessible experience. Thank you for your hard work ladies!
