Dear Essentialists, I cant believe this is how I am going to die. That was the thought Bob Glazer, my guest on this weeks episode, had when he collapsed in front of his six-month-old son. He thought he was having a heart attack. It turned out to be a panic attack. And in hindsight, it was not really so surprising. In that same year, hed had a baby, launched a business, and was building a house, while living with his in-laws. Listen to what he did about it in this weeks episode (link in bio). We may not be trying to do all of those things this year. However, I think everyone can relate. This year sometimes feels like trying to hike at high altitude. The air is thin. It can feel exhausting to make even an inch of progress. Perhaps its the endless fear and uncertainty about the future. Perhaps its the loneliness and isolation. Perhaps its financial worries or hardships. Perhaps its all the responsibilities, all of the pressures that can suffocate us on a daily basis. Here is what we can do about it this week: 1. Go to bed one minute earlier. 2. Stay asleep for one minute longer. 3. Take one minute more to pause: to think about life, to breathe. Remember: In order to have focus we need to escape to focus.
