🛰️🛰️ Next up for @nowayrecords is Italian @djdatch 🛰️🛰️ Due to the desire to escape, and a vague sense of inner awe filled exclusively by music, Dj Datch started getting closer to the world of clubbing. At first he was inspired to explore the different types of electronic music although passion leads him to a broader evolutionary path. He also started playing in the most important clubs of his native land, Sardinia. His performances began to take an intense musical form of personal communication with the obsessive use of drums, almost like stabbings, in a progressive growth up to mesmerise the listener : explosion then restart. Next step is outside Italy, turning a utopia into reality : Tresor Club in Berlin. DJ Datch found a context of sound research, find a chemistry that makes developing a personal style characterised by techno sounds, dark and hypnotic in combination with hints of experimental dub. In order to complete this journey DJ Datch experiences his first productions in 2011, focusing his energies into his dark style. Dis Rodinou, cétait comment les concerts avant ? Demain ma soulmate scénique @suzanemusique se produit au @lemas_concert et ce lieu est un temple de souvenirs intarissables avec des artistes. Que ce soit @cameliajordana @babxofficiel ou encore @listentococoon il sest passé des choses magiques là bas... Et je pèse mes mots. Il y a presque 9 ans jour pour jour je me rendais la bas pour photographier @iziamusic qui me marqua profondément lesprit durant ma période HibOO. Pour moi à lépoque elle était un peu notre @juliettelewis nationale (fun fact : elle se feront un duo à la Flèche dor) et son énergie démentielle navait dégale que sa bienveillance douce digne dun @m_chedid aka lêtre le plus bienveillant de cette planète. Bref, outre le fait davoir vécu un concert absolument fou, ce fut également une journée qui restera gravée jusquà à la fin de mes jours car cest grâce à Izia que jai cessé davoir peur de leau. Et elle ma en quelque sorte appris à nager. Ou du moins à ne pas couler. Ce qui savéra être un exploit car en 1993 jai failli me noyer dans la rivière traversant mon département dorigine. Izia, cest quelquun que tu suis les yeux fermés car elle inspire une confiance folle. Mais pourquoi écris-je tout ça ? Je te laisse regarder ces photos prises en 2009. Je te laisse voir les photos tests dun festival anglais avec les séparations conformes aux mesures sanitaires. Et clairement : crois tu vraiment que du côté artiste ça sera léclate de jouer devant des gens séparés les uns des autres avec des visages qui ne dévoilent que des yeux ? De mon point de vue photographe les artistes me commanditent pour montrer quils envoient du steak sur scène. Et pour ça il faut montrer ces moments dosmose des deux côtés de la scène. This week, for the 25th instalment of our mix series, were joined by @milenze_au. A veteran of numerous UD parties, Milenze has been navigating her way through the Sydney music scene and showcasing her vast diversity for over 6 years. Choosing to deviate from genre expectations, her focus as a selector has been to curate sets with a mixture of old school house, heavy rolling kick drums and dubby baselines. Milenze is no stranger to throwing down rapid breakbeat alongside dub techno, sneaking in a rave classic from ’94. For her mix, Milenze has taken inspiration from the introspection and solitude that came along with the recent period of isolation, reaching into the depths of her own mind to bring us something simultaneously dark and uplifting for one of our most interesting and diverse sets yet.
