It can give two different people the same set of numbers, but each of them may respond differently. A calculator doesn’t know your underlying health issues that can impact your progress Now a coach technically is also making assumptions, but they are EDCUATED assumptions based on individual factors A good coach will take your dieting history into account, your mindset and relationship with food into account, know what red flags to look for, ask the right questions to dig a little deeper to come up with the game plan that is going to work for you. A good coach is also more than just macro protocols. We can work on deeper goals like your relationship with food and improving daily habits. You get progressive adjustments that will keep you moving forward towards your goal, and the accountability to keep you going when you start to doubt yourself. They will push you to your true potential. Yes calculators are free and easily accessible, but the lifetime value you get with a good coach is truly priceless. F L E X I B I L I T Y 🤸🏻♀️✨ Working on flexibility has always been a love/hate relationship for me🤪 and the thing with flexibility is that it is in fact a tricky thing🤷🏽♀️, the moment I loose focus of it, it literally goes away. I always have to keep in mind the importance of finding balance between strengthening and flexibility. Many of my students come to me with a super strong practice but when it comes to flexibility, they can barely touch their toes, and they keep working towards that strength because well it is fun and it gives you potential to do amazing things😎. But in the long run, finding the balance between those 2 aspects is going to take us way farther, not only on the mat 🧘🏻♀️ but also in our normal lives. What I loved the most of my time studying in India 🇮🇳 is that they teach me the balance of strengthening and how to safely go beyond my flexibility limits. Limits that were put on my head since I was very young, and I never thought I could ever achieve. Lamentablemente este individuo observado cerca de Altos de Cantillana sufre de Sarna, la cual, es una enfermedad cutanea ocasionada por un acaro llamado Sarcoptes scabiei o arador de la sarna, este se contagia por contacto directo generalmente entre animales pero no excluye a humanos. Sarcoptes scabei se encarga de hacer tuneles en la piel debido a que se alimenta de esta, asi va generando picazón y en este caso especial la perdida del pelaje del individuo, además, el acaro se reproduce dentro de la piel por lo que es comun encontrar una población importante si no es tratado a tiempo. Situaciones como esta pone sobre la mesa la problemática que existe sobre el cuidado de la flora y fauna del territorio como también la responsabilidad que tenemos cada una de las personas que amamos la naturaleza y su biodiversidad. Es muy comun que existan perros salvajes en bosques y montañas (probablemente abandonados) los cuales ponen en peligro la fauna nativa transmitiendo enfermedades, desplazando especies o matando otras como suele ocurrir con aves o felinos nativos. I think back to when humans were completely intertwined with the natural world. We were joined, knowing the ins and outs of all life. How we were so completely interconnected. Knowing where our food all came from, the rivers our life source, our bathing waters. The gratitude and care our ancestors had for Mother Earth. Over the years, we have distanced ourselves more and more, taming her, boxing her out, unappreciative for her gifts. Where has it left us? I can’t help but to think some of the modern mental pain could be alleviated by the reconnection with nature. I’m watching the sun go down and I love the way the sun rays come perfectly through the summer green leaves of the trees. I hear bird songs around me and watched as a large rabbit hopped quickly across the field with that big cotton round tail. Thank you sunshine, thank you trees, thank you bird song and buzzing bees. I bet for some of you sleep didn’t even cross your mind🙅🏼♀️ Your priorities consist of your grocery list, picking up the kids at school, your laundry, making sure the dog is fed, having your meal prepped or worrying about what you’re picking up from the store to bring for lunch tomorrow. The list goes on and on. But here’s the thing, the list can’t go on without resting. You can’t prioritize any of those if you are tired or if you stayed up all night. The list cannot get accomplished if little to no sleep occurs. Rest is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Aujourdhui, ça fait 1 an jour pour jour que je me suis blessée (rupture totale du ligament antérieur du genou droit). 1 opération, 7 mois de rééducation, 3 centres de rééducation différents selon le stade de la progression du genou Jen ai vu passer des choses qui métaient encore inconnues pendant cette année complète..MAIS je suis fière de les avoir traversées avec toute mon équipe et ma volonté. En 1 an, jai eu le temps de méditer sur mon sort et quand on pense positivement, on sen sort toujours bien nest-ce pas ? Cest alors ce que jai fait et tout est allé pour le mieux. Aucune complication sur mon genou, jai pu faire ma rééducation en paix et toujours avec lidée en tête que je reviendrai plus forte ! La semaine dernière, jai fait mon tournoi de reprise après 51 semaines sans compétition et jai réussi... La victoire de mon premier tour a été un soulagement et un pur bonheur. Jai atteint et perdu la finale du tournoi. Ce nest pas une défaite, mais plusieurs victoires que jen tire. Celles, tout dabord, dêtre revenue sur un terrain de tennis. Puis davoir gagné mon premier match de reprise, et le suivant, et le suivant, et le suivant... Jai savouré tous les petits et grands instants de ce tournoi, doù latmosphère mavait été privée pendant longtemps. Et pour la première fois de ma vie, jai pleuré de joie, après un match qui a été un combat de plus de 3h30 que jai finalement gagné. Encore une fois, je ne remercierai jamais assez ma famille et toute mon équipe pour leur omniprésence dans cette période. Je passe le coucou à toutes les personnes que jai croisé et rencontré dans les centres de rééducation et leur souhaiter bon courage et jespère à bientôt😊 Si vous vivez un moment difficile, ne blâmez pas la vie. The reason why is because your legs are the same as Pyramid, not Triangle, and then youre rotating around... so when teachers were calling it rotated triangle, I was so confused for years about how I was supposed to do this pose and have an open hip yet twist around... and then one day someone explained it really, really well and I fell in love. Today, #TeamTuesday introduces the new director of records, Rachael Boyd. Prior to taking her first post at Union in 2015, Rachael visited the campus as a sponsor for Dakota Adventist Academy. “I really liked the vibe I got on campus, Rachael remembered. When I was looking for new job opportunities, I specifically sought out Union.” That new opportunity turned out to be as visit coordinator for the Unions Enrollment Office. “I did Preview Days, individual visits and all that kind of fun stuff. My very first Preview Days, we had a big snowstorm. I was so new and didn’t really know anything. But I remember going with the flow and trying to make the best of it for the students who were here. She then transitioned to the role of associate registrar in the Records Office. I worked with incoming students, transferring in their courses, as well as working with graduating students, making sure they met all of their requirements, she explained. “A lot of the new recruits I saw when I worked in Enrollment, I’m now seeing graduate. Now as the registrar, I’m overseeing class schedules, organizing the registration process and making sure the students’ academic records are accurate.” Rachael has big plans for Records. For starters, Rachael wants to explore moving some of the “paperwork” to a digital format. “I would like to look at ways that we can move towards a more digital way of keeping records so that students aren’t running to three or four offices to get signatures while still being able to accomplish changing their majors, making withdrawals, or petitions.” Records will also be working with a new degree audit software. “It should help incoming students to create their four year plans and help them keep to that plan, said Rachael. We want students to take ownership of their degree, and have the tools to understand how to do that in a timely manner. As cases of COVID-19 continue to mount in Navajo Nation, @UCSF has sent a second team of health care workers – 13 nurses and six physicians – to Arizona to help provide urgently needed support to the largest hospitals serving Navajo patients. . The volunteers, who arrived in Navajo Nation last week, joined 13 UCSF nurses and three physicians who have been working with local medical workers in Arizona and New Mexico for a month and have requested to extend their service for two to four additional weeks. . Navajo Nation is the largest U.S. Native American reservation, covering about 27,500 square miles – an area about the size of West Virginia – spanning the borders of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, with a population of about 175,000. Since early March, it has experienced a disproportionate number of COVID-19 cases, stressing its health care system. With 4,253 positive cases and 146 confirmed deaths reported as of Wednesday, May 20, Navajo Nation now has the highest per-capita case load in the nation, surpassing even New York State. It’s with the deepest regret that we inform our supporters & friends that Dale Sharpe passed away in Kansas in the United States on the 20 June, 2019 Dale was driving on Highway 2 north east of Harper where he struck a deer. Dale’s vehicle was disabled on the road and he sought safety calling for assistance. The vehicle started to billow smoke from the engine bay and Dale sought refuge on the side of the road. A passing motorist avoided colliding with the stranded vehicle at the last moment by leaving the road. Dale ran for cover into a ditch, however it’s understood the same oncoming vehicle sought refuge in the same direction simultaneously and he was subsequently struck. He was treated by health care professionals on scene and in hospital, however passed away at 2.14am. Dale was loved by many and will be deeply missed. On behalf of the family we thank you for all your support, but ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time. While it may be common to see fox and coyote in places humans frequent, make no mistake—these are wild animals. We continue to observe and hear about animals approaching people and being fed. Feeding wild animals can cause them to act unpredictably, posing a danger to people and pets. This can result in bites, and ultimately, the destruction of the fox or coyote. Esta semana ingresó al Centro de Rescate un aguará guazú. Fue encontrado en General Villegas, lejos de su distribución natural. Luego de un día completo de rescate, con más de 900 km recorridos junto con @ambientenacion , ya se encuentra en observación y comenzó el proceso para evaluarlo y poder reinsertarlo en la naturaleza. Hoy le realizamos un chequeo general en el hospital veterinario de la Fundación. Es una hembra con buen estado de salud y pasó a un recinto especial, aislada de contacto humano y con ambientación natural.
