I have no idea at which point I lost my sun hat on the way to the beach yesterday. I tapped my head, looked inside my bag, looked around and even walked back to see if it was lying on the road... nope 🤷🏻‍♀️. I DID have it on my head upon leaving the house. Although I tend to apply SPF30 to 50 on my face, ears and neck, especially on days like this, I still prefer to be shielded from strong #sun rays. The same rule applies to the body. I go for the highest SPF, usually by @larocheposay (@larocheposayuki), a brand thats been around for years (Ive known it since my early 20s if not teenage years, when I was still living in Poland). Their products are of the highest quality, absorb really fast and dont leave a white cast on #skin. Green People are also my favourite. I tan easily and I have many skin tags and moles splattered all over my body. Theyve always been a part of me and I dont feel like removing them for esthetic reasons but since I became pregnant, even more appeared, especially on my neck. Should I be concerned? I also have patches of hyperpigmentation on my cheeks which, I suspect, are also the result of #pregnancy hormones. Itll be interesting to see if they dissappear on their own or the help of gentle acids and a vit C serum will be required (any post-pregnancy skin advice would be much appreciated ☺️) When we were young teenagers, my cousin and I were huge fans of applying olive oil to our skin in the summer as a pre-holiday tanning treatment. We thought, since its high in antioxidants, it couldnt have hurt and would keep our skin young and smooth 😅. Also: In case you didnt notice I like #blue and #turquoise. I do have other clothes and not just this dress (2nd hand and I bought it for pennies) but I wear it often because its very comfortable and light. #denimjacket is 3 years old and from @tkmaxxuk. I havent touched my eyebrows in two months. It is with sadness that we announce the home-going of our art teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Robinson-Bailey. She joined the academy staff in 2005 as the junior high art teacher. The following year she added elementary art to her schedule. Through the years, she helped our students discover and develop their artistic gifts and use those gifts to glorify God. She was kindhearted and encouraging, always bringing out the best in her students. She designed the original BCA Bulldog logo, painted the school mural on the brick wall, and directed the Junior High Art Class in creating backdrops for BCA musicals, as well as posters for fundraisers and activities. In recent years she assisted Mrs. Marriott-Nguyen with the annual BCA-ACSI Art Festival. She was also dedicated to volunteering her time with Operation Christmas Child and the United States Naval Sea Cadet Program. On August 3, Mrs. Robinson-Bailey passed into the presence of the Lord after a brief battle with cancer. Though we mourn her here on earth, we rejoice that she is fully healed and living in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please join us as we pray for her husband Scott, daughter Treasure, sons Nathaniel and Joel, her mom Pamela, daughter-in-law Nalleli, grandson Roy, and the rest of her family, friends, and students. If you would like to send a card or note to the family, you can drop it by or mail it to the BCA office and we will make sure it gets to them. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that Operation Christmas Child boxes be made in her memory, as that was near and dear to Rebeccas heart. My son AJ is 4 years old. He was diagnosed with cancer on December 26. I almost lost him on December 23 at The ER. His blood cell count was at 1.6. After December 26, few weeks later my son caught a fungal infection which spreaded through his lungs and face bad to where they had to cut his top lip off at the time of his surgery. He was in ICU for almost two months sedated fighting for his life. He almost died twice in one day! Aj finally beat the infection and was improving every week ! At Arkansas Children’s Hospital they calls him the miracle baby! I’m a single mother and we have been dealing with a lot ! My son was fighting two things at once and still fighting leukemia cancer and dealing with his top lip being gone ! He is now in complete remission. “It’s the little things that mean the most” I’ve herd that so many times in my life without really understanding wtf it meant. It’s the little things in every relationship that build animosity or appreciation. Younger me, he was just trying not to drowned in or step in my own mess most the time. Then little by little you grow up a little bit every year or you hope thats the case. Until I did “Tour For The Troops” I never understood the appeal of entering the service. Maybe because I was always thinking about my self to much to give a shit. At that point in my life, I probably wouldn’t have been completely honest with you or my self to truly know the answer to that question. I guaranteed would have feed you some BS no doubt about it. However I think with the “#Pandemic” giving up some of our liberty’s and little things we enjoy everyday we get a small taste of what it’s like to have curfew or not be able to eat at the places we have been so lucky to have at are fingertips. These “Troops” give that up and way more not seeing there family and friends to give us the liberty’s to have the freedom of choice. Some pay the ultimate price and the ones that make it out without there brothers/sisters seem to feel like they let someone down by making it out alive. I can’t even wrap my head around that or wish to ever feel what that is like. Vi har vært på mange turer i hele Norge for å delta på messer, og har blitt så utrolig godt mottatt overalt med luene våre. Tusen takk alle 😘 For snart 4 år siden kom vi til ett punkt der vi måtte tenke litt nytt for å kunne fortsette med det vi liker så godt. Calm down Karen, it’s just a tube… I get it, a tube coming out of my nose and taped to my face is a lot to take in; but let me tell you more about my NG tube. First things first; “What is an NG tube?” In simple terms, it’s a long tube that gives my medical team access to my stomach and all the fun stuff inside. When I’ve had bowel blockages in the past, or when Olivia’s “fallen asleep” for long periods of time, I’ve had NG tubes placed to decompress my stomach. Having my tube placed was not a comfortable time BUT, having AMAZING NURSES (you know who you are) makes the experience so much better. After one of my surgeries, I pulled my NG out in my sleep; I called my nurse and he was so calm about it all. He ended up dancing and cheering me on as he was placing the NG (if you read this, thank you… I needed that laugh). If you’re getting your first NG tube, this is a general idea of how they are placed. Hopefully, this makes it way less intimidating for you: * Your nurse will come in with a bunch of supplies (don’t worry, it looks scarier than it is). * The NG tube will be measured from your nose to the sternum, this makes sure that it gets placed in the right area. * I’ve always been sitting upright for my tube placements, my nurses have me sip water during the procedure; this helps the placement be more comfortable for the patient. * The nurses will ask you to bend your head forward while 2/3 inches are inserted; once that happens, you will look towards the ceiling while still sipping your water. * Your NG will be taped to your face (I prefer band-aids) and then you will have a chest X-Ray to make sure it’s in the correct spot. Here are my tips for coping with an NG: * Get your nurse to put your NG in the freezer before they place it, it makes it hurt less! * Don’t be embarrassed about your tube! Having something physically attached to your face can 100% make you self-conscious, but you deserve to feel beautiful as you are. I would do my hair every day and wear my own jammies; this made me 10x more comfortable & confident about my tube. * Hard candies, cure dry mouth I hope this helps! Much has been said about this great icon of mma and the world of sports. He is definitely one of the greatest in the octogon but I think that it was his personality, demeanor, dedication to the martial arts and his professionalism that lifted both himself and the UFC to the level they are today. For his last fight UFC 217, he, along with other fighters that needed to be photographed for that event and other events that were soon thereafter, were brought in for a special photo shoot to get specific looks and images that were required for the artwork for those events. This was before the athletes would have been in training camp and its always a crap shoot as to if the athletes will be in shape to be photographed. Athletes are flown in the day before, given their schedule for the following day, and expected to follow that schedule. GSP gets in late the night before and were told that he has a severe cold, bronchitis, and hes scheduled first up at 9am in the morning. We suggest moving him to later but he decides to keep his scheduled time. 9am he shows up, looks great even though he hasnt fought in years, completely picture ready even though he hasnt started his fight camp yet, doesnt even mention being sick and not once complained about all the things we were asking him to do given that he hadnt been photographed for a long time. This is a guy that is one of the greatest and his professionalism that day was unparalleled and should be what others strive for. In contrast there were other fighters that day who completely disregarded the schedule so when they turned up, if they turned up at all, they had to wait or make others wait who came at their scheduled time which in turn compromised our time and what we were able to get from the fighters. A couple were so out of shape that they either refused to be photographed without their jersey or the images were barely useful. HAPPY MONDAY! . . It’s my last week in my current job. I’m very very blessed to have been hired on the exact same day they told everyone to go work from home. . Had I not been working as a tech for the guard, I would’ve been let go that same day from my seasonal position working for the state. So while I wasn’t able to train up and get as much experience as I’d have liked, there has not been a day that has gone by where I have been not been grateful to be employed and (as cheesy as it sounds) grateful for the CT National Guard. . FAMily Update 💻 Anxiety is at an all time high while Hannah and her family wait, hope 🤞 and pray that Hannah’s body accepts the BMT transplant. Her ANC has been at 0 for the last 4 days and she is receiving platelet transfusions daily. This girly is miserable 😖. Hannah is trying so hard to eat so she doesn’t have to go on TPN. She wants nothing more than to feel better, so she pushes through every single bite 🍴 of mashed potatoes with gravy. While they are keeping up on her main meds, the pain is unbearable. 📍Where in the world is Déja? 🌎✨ — Huacachina, Ica, Peru 🇵🇪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Interrupting my stream of hike posts to highlight a throwback adventure — sand boarding!! Huacachina is a small town in southwestern Peru (and when I say small, I mean small — it doesn’t even have an ATM!!). Huacachina is know for the oasis in the middle of the desert, but the main activity there is dune-buggying sandboarding. The dune-buggy was so fun and scary omg! I tried to video it, but the video just didn’t do the experience justice. It was like a rollercoaster frfr, I LOVED IT! and thennnnn we got to sand board, which was also scary at first. We did 5 or 6 different hills all FACE FIRST — talk about an adrenaline rush (swipe left to see video footage)! At the end of the tour, we all took shots of Peruvian wine while watching the sunset. Beware: while it’s gets into the 90s during the day, the temp dropped QUICK. Nestes anos meus dentes inferiores começaram a me incomodar por estarem entortando, rejeitava o aparelho pq quase todos os profissionais falavam que eu provavelmente teria que tirar um dente para correção, isto me desanimava, portanto, não colocava o aparelho. E aí então fui ao encontro do meu AMIGO Léo Alcântara IONF Campos RJ e assim saí. Meu tratamento está em 2 anos, porém como não consigo ir com a frequência mensal que preciso o meu tratamento está no final já, mas em pouco mais de 1 ano eu já estaria sem ele. Lá não tem enrolação e tão pouco mentira com os pacientes assistidos. Seriedade, competência e responsabilidade são os lemas dessa grande empresa. Every song I write, no matter how sad or strange, has a little joke in there…” Gary Russell Wertz (GRW) started his musical career as a youngster in the #NewYork #Punk scene of the early 1980s, playing CBGB’s when he was 14 years old. Inspired by his heroes from the #Britishinvasion, #GaragePunk, American Hard core and #CountryandWestern, Gary began writing, singing and recording his own songs at an early age, recording his tunes on a beat up Tascam 4 track. At 20, Gary joined the quirky pop combo the #Mommyheads and moved west to #SanFrancisco. When I graduated in 2013 I was going to enter the veterinarian program at OSU. When the time came to enroll, my grandfather had a massive heart attack. He had a complex recovery and my Grandmother needed my live-in support to assist with his caregiving. The entire caregiving experience it gave me, inspired me to switch my major to nursing. Since my Grandfather made a full recovery, I relocated from California to Idaho to pursue my educational goal in a more timely and affordable setting. I had been completing my prerequisites from that point on. Unfortunately, because I moved states, some prerequisites had to be retaken. Additionally, I spoke to a guidance counselor and decided to pursue my LPN degree first as it has a faster enrollment date. However, that meant I had to take a few additional classes. I am currently working as a certified nursing assistant, with our most vulnerable population.  I have a degree in social sciences and am enrolled in the LPN program. It will take me only one school year to obtain my degree in nursing which will allow me to take the NCLEX exam to obtain my LPN license. Once I have my license I would like to work at sacred heart in Washington and continue my education to get my RN. #nursedotorg - @ctexy on Instagram

W deszczu. Jeszcze nigdy tak bardzo nie wyszłam ze strefy komfortu. Nie biegam w deszczu. Bo mamy i właścicielki firmy nie biorą L4. Poza tym nigdy bieg w deszczu mnie nie kręcił. Dziś zostałam boleśnie utwierdzona w tym przekonaniu. Krew, pot i łzy. Do tego bardzo mokro i zimno. Dziś tylko krótki filmik. Zastanawiałam się czy w ogóle go wrzucić... I wynik. Lastnight was a very proud moment in my military and nursing career! 🎉 I was commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps 🏥 My transfer application process from medical corps (rank of private) started in Feb 2019. #hurryupandwait if you know you know... Lots of hurdles, medical / fitness / psych / aptitude testing, flights to ADFA cancelled, delayed recruitment and finishing the interview process via Skype instead of in person due to COVID-19 etc This has not been an easy process, but definitely one worth the wait. My brother in law @martodalaw awarded me with my new rank slide, but he put it on upside down 😂 Thanks to my dear friend @emmsie.k for also coming along and being on filming duties. Now it will be another long road getting onto all of the courses to get fully qualified so I actually know what I’m doing 😝 But I can’t wait for this new chapter to embrace the RAANC values of compassion and providing nursing care to the wounded and sick both on exercises in Australia and operations overseas. DER GÖßTE FEHLER BEIM ABNEHMEN Hey Sportsfreunde, ich hab immer mal wieder darüber nachgedacht was wohl der größte Fehler war, den ich beim Abnehmen gemacht habe und ich bin mir sehr sicher dass es das „zu schnell zu viel wollen“ ist. . Damit bin ich mehrfach so richtig auf die Schnauze gefallen, denn es hat mich immer in einen Teufelskreis manövriert. Hoch motiviert mit 2000 kcal am Tag gestartet, an trainingsfreien Tagen natürlich noch weniger und zu essen gab es natürlich nur „cleanes Food“, keine Ausnahmen, denn jetzt wird voll durchgezogen. Hat dann auch zwei Wochen geklappt, um dann in die erste Fressattacke zu verfallen. Danach habe ich mich dann natürlich schlecht gefühlt aber hey esse ich halt zwei Tage nur 1000 kcal und dann passt das schon. Dass das völliger Mist ist, ist mir heute klar, denn geschafft habe ich es nie an diesen Tagen nur 1000 kcal zu essen. Der Frust wurde also größer und was habe ich gemacht wenn ich frustriert war? Genau, gefressen! Wenn es richtig „gut“ lief auch mal drei Tage am Stück und Zack war alles an Gewicht wieder drauf oder ich war sogar schwerer als vorher. Da war die Frustration dann auf dem Höhepunkt und man hat das Kapitel Diät mal wieder ad Acta gelegt um sich weiter rund zu futtern. . Man darf einfach nicht erwarten, dass man die Kilos die man sich über Jahre angefressen hat, in 10 Wochen wieder los wird. Deswegen unbedingt langfristig denken und die Ernährungsform finden, die euch eine dauerhafte Ernährungsumstellung ermöglicht. Macht euch nicht verrückt, genießt euer Leben, verbietet euch nicht alles und macht keine Raketenwissenschaft aus dem Abnehmen. .
